Woo-hoo!!  Tancredo wins surprise immigration vote!!

Rocky Mountain News

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.

Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

It would apply to Los Angeles, New York and San Fransico too!

Sending this to my Reps and Senators. Will give them some idea as to where the American people really stand. Give them some food for thought on resurrecting the demon bill.

Firewing:    I certainly hope it applies to LA, NY and SF, that would be terrific, but one of our illustrious "bobsey' twins would try to find a way to block it..... That sounds too good to be true......

The House passed the amendment, 234 to 189, with 50 Democrats voting in favor.

Tancredo and his staffers hooted and cheered from his office across the street from the Capitol immediately after the vote.

It's still so amazing that our politicians are SURPRISED at the will of the people!

Love the last paragraph:

"If I were (Speaker of the House) Nancy Pelosi, I'd be asking if she could pass a vote on amnesty on the House side," Tancredo said. "If she lost 50 Democrats on this one, and she says she needs 70 Republicans to pass the immigration plan, this is an interesting indicator of things coming down the pike, and that the times, they are a-changing."

My exact thought when I read the title to your thread.  They need a reality check.

Bugsy--the last time I saw and heard Tom, he was far from discouraged.  That was a week ago today.  He says he will do everything he can to get rid of this illegal mess and everything he can to become Pres.  He asked us to do the same DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN.  I called his office this week and they said he is doing very well in Iowa.  I hope people take notice of his hard work in the House to put the skids on the immigration reform issues .  He's not a one issue man either--againsy SPP,  NAU, Globalsim.  People need to check him out.   I have my Tom Tancredo billboard in my yard, Bugsy--it's beautiful--I'm just letting you know because I know you will be envious.  I think at the end of June they are looking at funds accumulated for the quarter.  I need to send money!

Tom talks the talk and walks the walk. Just read his press releases. Look at this piece of legislation. He says stuff and makes it happen. That is what we need to turn our crappy situation around.

Congratulations to Tom on a great victory! Did the Rocky Mtn. News really describe Tom as an "anti-immigration champion" This is definitly a misnomer and very characteristic of how the media distorts the news. I hope Tom brings this to their attention.

Has anyone noticed that Tom seems to fulfill and exceed in Representative role plus RUN for President??  Some of the other candidates in congress miss most of there sessions let alone come up with legislation-and get it passed.  I'm euphoric!

He was supposed to be at a fundraiser in California last night.  I hope it went well for him.   I live at the end of a dead end road or I would have a bill board also.  No one would see it except a couple of meter readers and the mail man.

I did order bumper stickers.  They just arrivd in the mail.  I plan to put them on the rear and the front windshield.  People coming and going will see those.

nancy sivill Ok were did you get your Tom Tancredo sign for President? I want one - Tee Shirt, hats and buttons too!

I send Tom Tancredo a 100.00 a month regulary. Also WE NEED TO FAX OR EMAIL HIM A BIG THANK YOU forom all of us! I am going to work on that Thank you Letter!

I was not able to link the article - it is my DSL acting up again.

But I have a question: Does this apply to ALL sanctuary states or were certain cities targeted? Thanks in advance if someone can answer this! Laughing

Becasue if only certain cities are targeted then this sort of defeats the purpose.

I would also like to add the entire State of Maryland to that list!

HOORAY!
