I've had a few post-cards printed up with a simple question: Where's the Fence??? with the text overlying a line drawing of the Southwestern Border. The cards will be going off to all the usual susupects in government and the media, with the exceptions of those whom I presently consider to be quite hopeless on this  subject.

This is an easy and inexpensive approach and, with luck, it might make a bit of a difference. It isn't patented, and you're  more than weclome to do your own.

Martin,  I love it.  It's short and sweet and to the point.   Some of the long letters people send are beautiful, but I wonder if anyone reads them?  Probably not.  I always think it's better to keep it pithy.

Been including "Where's the Fence" in some fashion in all of my Letters to the Editor concerning Shamnesty. After the Ads hit it's became a great tool to educate others about amnesty and Grassfire.org

I just came up with a new phrase that would be great to spread across the Grassroots movement.

Do you know what the W in George W. Bush Stands for?

It stands for " WHERE'S THE FENCE! "

GEORGE WHERE'S THE FENCE BUSH!

pass it on...

The idiots we have had in office over the past 30-40 years have no idea of using a fence , until it is their idea . Your thoughts do not matter only when it is convenient for our leaders will a fence be built . For instance:

Around YOUR HOUSE because they don't want your dog or kids to get in their way .

Around schools , so the kids get used to fences .

Around Government owned land and projects so you cannot see what is going on .

Around their communities , to keep you out .

Around jails to keep you in when you violate any of the above .

And to prove it has to be their idea , remember Branch Davidian , David Koresh and freinds ? Well see they built a fence around their compound , a fence that was not authorised by the government , so instead of putting guard towers at strategic locations and making it a prison and keeping all inside very neatly , what did they do ? RIGHT attack , destroy the buildings , let eveyone die . And you thought it was for firearms issues ? NO it was because they built a fence , a fence that the government had not authorised . Lastly they tore down the fence .

The fence will come when they build it ! I am not going to hold my breath in anticipation .

Grassfire is about to launch a "where's the fence?" fax campaign. We have bumper stickers which can be bulk ordered here.

Some ideas/requests we've bounced around:

--T-shirts

--hats

--small stickers to put on outbound mail.

 Thoughts?

Well....we scared the Senate and the immigration AMNESTY bill was killed.  Now what?  The grassroots effort that successfully blocked the Senate's plan to pass the AMNESTY bill also revealed that the majority of americans want a border fence between Mexico and the U.S. to be built and built NOW.  Shouldn't the FireSociety be exerting the same effort to get the fence built as it did to stop the AMNESTY bill??

I love the idea of stickers on mail, but we don't send much mail anymore.  Online bill pay and email/cell phone has made snail mail less useful.  Price of stamps keeps going up, so we don't send much but occasion cards and thank yous.  I wonder if you could come up with an appropriate sticker for Christmas Cards?  We send out over a hundred of them every year.  Not sure if it would even be appropriate to put such a sticker on a Christmas card, so it would definitely require some thought and be very tastefully done.

I hate to get kids in the middle of it, but what about book covers or folders with stickers or something to send the message when they start back again in the fall?

How about a luggage sticker that resembles the kinds of stickers you get when traveling abroad, but with the more important message?

Great Steve!

I'm not ready to be carjacked here since I'm in the minority, so T-shirts and hats are out for me, BUT I love the idea of stickers that can be put on all outgoing mail.  What design are you contemplating?

I liked Martin Harris' idea of the border outline and Where's The Fence emblazoned over it.  Any way to see your artwork Martin, or your ideas to date Steve??

I was so angry today after finding out our government has only built 13 miles of the 700 mile fence appropriated by Congress.  Not only are they building it at a snail's pace, BUT we find it isn't even THE FENCE PROMISED US.  ....READ ON

This email was sent to El President Jorge Bush and every member of the Senate as well as the U. S. Congress today.  I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick to death of being lied to and having the wool pulled over my eyes by government muckety-mucks who refuse to do their jobs.  Enough is enough.  Here's my email:

--------

Under whose authority was the 13 miles of Congress-funded Fencing cut? Why is the fence not double-layer enforced as the American people were promised? Funds were appropriated for double-layer fencing and now it is not being done!!! Who is messing with a Congressional Order and who is double-crossing the American people by not supplying the double-layer fence as promised? Even though funding was approved by Congress last year, thus far only 13 miles of the wrong type fence has been installed. Why are they dragging their feet? We're getting very tired of those who take it upon themselves to try and pull the wool over the eyes of American citizens of this country. Now we're angry and want answers.

Please respond s a p. Please DO NOT send me another form letter, I want a personal response from YOU after you have investigated this shenanigan by our government, as it is my safety and that of my family's we're talking about. We are calling upon the powers that be to investigate and find the culprit and fire him/her now!! No one in government should be messing with the security and safety of the citizens of America. You took an oath and we expect you to fulfill your duty by protecting us from invaders and enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Also, why are we not able to email Michael Cherthoff of Homeland Insecurity? Attempts have been futile and instead of receiving a response from his office, I received 3 pages of mumbo-jumbo, which we believe is a deliberate ploy to avoid him from having to answer questions as to why he's not doing his job but is, instead, passing the buck. We have a right to know how a government official is performing or in this case, not performing their duty.

A copy of this email is being sent to every member of Congress as well as the Senate, who will get to the bottom of this. We've had enough stalling by government officials in enforcing the law on behalf of the people. Enough is enough! It's time everyone did their job. Thank you.

Sincerely,

I think the fax out on the fence is a good idea, only problem I see is I'm not sure any of the people receiving it can read English, so far they don’t seem to be getting the point. :-)

This is my rewrite of the Grassfire suggested fax.
I am tired of being polite so I am being a little more to the point.

As a citizen of the United States, I am thankful that amnesty bill for criminals that gained illegal access to the USA was defeated. Just goes to show traitors like bush and kennedy don't always get their way.

The Secure Fence Act of 2006 was signed into law on October 26, 2006.

HELLO ….. WHERE IS THE FENCE?

This law authorized 854 miles of two-layered reinforced fencing along the southwest border.

SO FAR 87.2 MILES OF SINGLE LAYER FENCE HAVE BEEN BUILT.

I could have built that much fence by hand. I have heard of government inefficiency but this is a JOKE!  Who did your no bid contract go to? Illegal aliens? Or did it go to the masters of retardation, dick cheney’s partners the halliburton thieves?

A double layer fence was promised, a promise, we realize that you don’t know the meaning of, however we just wonder, when do the lies and broken “Promises” stop?

I guess they will stop when you are voted out of office!

If you wish to be even considered the next election, I strongly advise you to use the authority which is granted to you by the VOTING public and build the fence, and start truly securing our borders.

It is not only what Americans want, it's the law!

Be guaranteed, we the voting public will be monitoring your actions very closely.

Sincerely,

I will buy Where's the Fence stickers to put on my bills.  I still mail them.

Also I guess because I live in Los Angeles and there are so many freeways and so much traffic I am a big believer in bill boards.  You are in your car and stuck for hours so you look around and novel bill boards really catch your eye.  Also thousands if not millions go by them on a daily / weekly basis.

What about a Los Angeles / Orange County series of Freeway bill boards with Where's the Fence - call Michael Chertoff at 202 - .......

Or your Senator at.......

There are alot of neighborhoods that are now being subjected to gang graffiti and violence in LA and alot of us feel helpless because of Mayor Antonio and his "sanctuary city" protection as well as Catholic Mahoney.

Our voices are being drowned out.  But I think if you scratched the surface you would find scathing anger.  You might just get a few more thousand Grassfire members.
