Were it not for that day, we wouldn't be here voicing our opinion and enjoying our freedom in the fashion that we are.
If you haven't had the chance yet you should try to visit the D-Day Museum in New Orleans. If you have kids or grandkids that don't really know how we won WWII, this is a must see.
I've seen the landing at omaha beach at least a thousand times in my life, and as hard as I try, I can't see any of those guys wearing a serape, or, a sombrero, do you?
I like how McCain tried to say during the debate that their were many hispanics on the Vietnam vet wall. I say that is fine....however....they were probably of the "assimilated" type. Not the non-assimilating types that are here today. I wonder why that isn't mentioned!
"We do need to play by the rules. The people affilitated with NCLR, etc. will let emotions get the best of them and will put their feet into their own mouths by their actions. Just look at the demonstrations and the way the people act. What we need to do is outsmart all of them. We have the brainpower. We need to operate as a cohesive, unified, smart group." The Angy Patriot
Because if they admit they were (1) legal and (2) assimilated, it would kind of defeat their argument. So there were hispanic names...well Dick Tracy! There were Irish names, Italian names, Greek names, etc. too. Was the hispanic contribution to VietNam somehow more than any other nationality or ethnicity? These clowns just don't get it...they will try any trick they can think of to put a positive spin on this and they're just sinking deeper and deeper the more they try. Next thing you know, you'll hear Menendez whining that the US DRAFTED all those hispanics, they were all illegal but somehow Uncle Sam got them!! What a crock of cow dung!
