{/fswiss/fcharset0 Arial; (CNSNews.com) - Cindy Sheehan says she is resigning as the "face" of the American anti-war movement.

In a letter posted on a liberal website Monday, Sheehan complained about the smears and hatred directed at her by liberals since she renounced her ties to the Democratic Party.

"Being called an 'attention whore' and being told 'good riddance' are some of the more milder rebukes [sic]," Sheehan wrote in a long letter posted on the DailyKos blog.

"I have come to some heartbreaking conclusions this Memorial Day Morning," Sheehan wrote.

She said she has reluctantly concluded that "I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party."

Sheehan also noted that while conservatives "slandered and libeled" her as a "tool of the Democratic Party," liberals did the same thing -- "when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I help the Republican Party."

Sheehan also described the toll on her personal life:

"I have sacrificed a 29 year marriage and have traveled for extended periods of time away from Casey's brother and sisters and my health has suffered and my hospital bills from last summer (when I almost died) are in collection because I have used all my energy trying to stop this country from slaughtering innocent human beings. I have been called every despicable name that small minds can think of and have had my life threatened many times."

She said the "most devastating conclusion" she reached is that her son Casey, who died in Iraq, "did indeed die for nothing."

"Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives. It is so painful to me to know that I bought into this system for so many years and Casey paid the price for that allegiance. I failed my boy and that hurts the most."

Sheehan also criticized the "peace movement," which she said "often puts personal egos above peace and human life.

"This group won't work with that group," she wrote. "[H]e won't attend an event if she is going to be there; and why does Cindy Sheehan get all the attention anyway? It is hard to work for peace when the very movement that is named after it has so many divisions."

Sheehan is a co-founder of the anti-war organization Gold Star Families for Peace, and for two years, she has campaigned for the impeachment and conviction of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. But not any more:

"I am going to take whatever I have left and go home," Sheehan wrote on Monday.

"I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children and try to regain some of what I have lost. I will try to maintain and nurture some very positive relationships that I have found in the journey that I was forced into when Casey died and try to repair some of the ones that have fallen apart since I began this single-minded crusade to try and change a paradigm that is now, I am afraid, carved in immovable, unbendable and rigidly mendacious marble."

Sheehan said Camp Casey in Crawford, Tex., is for sale. "I will consider any reasonable offer," she wrote.

This is wonderful news that the evil cow, Cindy Sheehan has finally done the smart thing and gave up. She was fighting a losing battle and that goodness has once again conquered evil and that we have done. We as Americans have prevailed over this anti-American loser. Although we must continue our fight to defeat the extreme Liberal left and the other anti-American protestors. Defeating this evil woman is a great victory for us and George W.Bush. Next is Michael Moore, Barbara Streisand and Hollywood. Let'e keep up the good work.

Wow, this is good news!!  It is always good when an enemy of America gives up & goes home.  Maybe we will no longer be exposed to a rancid wretch who's only goal in life is to bring shame to her heroic son.  Below is a letter I wrote that made it into the OC Register in Aug. 05.

How much longer can the mainstream media glorify Cindy Sheehan's spitting in the faces of our soldiers, living and dead? What makes this so tragic is that the media have hoisted her up on their collective shoulders in an effort to parade her around to further their anti-Bush, anti-war, blame-America cause.

Used, chewed up, spit out, and disgraced?!  And what was it she thought would be the end result of her demeaning her son's patriotism, giving his all for the love of his country, and his commitment to a mission he believed was just and necessary?  And further, what could she have hoped for when joining forces with the ilk that would be willing to accept her within their fold?  How pitifully sad and pathetic.  Although she is not the first to have squandered a magnificent inheritance so as to eventually end up alone, broken, living with pigs within their sty and hungry enough to feed with them, hopefully her personal experience with a "coming to herself" and returning home will lead to her repentance, healing, and honorably useful service to others.

Her son has been turning in his grave ever since she started her protesting. I firmly believe that he would be ashamed of his mother. Being the great soldier he was, dying to save his fellow soldiers, when he had no obligation to be in any danger, I feel sad for him.

 And I love how she calls herself the "face" of the anti-war movement... I have no pity nor respect for her.

I truly feel sorry for this misguided woman. A wife and a mother that threw away all she did have in hopes of righting a perceived wrong by what she lost... used and discarded like a whore by the liberals once she no longer served their purpose. How sad.

Awww, heaven help the poor soul.  Whatever will Soros and Michael Moore do now without their media darling?  Who can Hugo Chavez turn to now?  Jumpin' Jiminy Cricket!  I hope the poor soul gets some serious SERIOUS mental health and grief counseling that is so sorely overdue!  Goodbye Cindy, you were never Nobel prize material to begin with.

If ever there was a reason for American patriots to keep vigilant and maintain their firearms and ammunition supply it is now while the nation faces coping with an ongoing invasion of the hordes who freely trespass our sovereign nation's borders and establish their unlawful and unwelcomed presence upon our sovereign soils, a globalistic governmentalism's hell-bent intention of ending the Republic of the United State's of America's sovereignty, and an elitist pro-democracy agenda to wholly replace the Republic and its foundational Constitution and Bill of Rights with an unlawful and unconstitutional democracy which was despised by the nation's founders.

As for me and mine, we shall look to GOD for protection, guidance, comfort, and the ability to aim our loaded firearms in the manner necessary to kill those who may foolishly attempt to assault, arrest, and imprison us. Certainly, we may die doing so but we will be standing on our feet as opposed to groveling upon our knees. And, the added benefit will be that we will have successfully killed one or more of those who foolishly attempted to assault, arrest, and enslave us.

Thanks’ God the people now know what you want and they will stop you, we have send the word, if any of the Senators want to keep their job, they must vote to kill this immigration Bill, any one that side with you will be out of office. We the people will not compromise and will vote out of office any Senator that supports this Bill. Hear this we want you to enforce the law period. No excuses. Mr. President we are tired of your BS.  You were elected to protect the interest of the American people. Seriously Juan, in my considered and thoughtful opinion, you're unnecessarily becoming an irritant -  enough already!  I, for one, have duly noted your love for your country, exceeded only by your love of cutting and posting your suggested letter to numerous threads.  With me, it's not so much that I take issue with your sincerity and good intentions as it is the fact that it is irritating to see the same letter with its grammatical and punctuation errors posted over and over and over and over again.

I wpould suppose that it is only the worst whores who can't get paid & it sure sounds like Cindy The Whore is broke!!  Her husband was smart enough to dump her early on.  I heard an interview that Sean Hannity did with one of her relatives who said that she spoke for no one in that family but herself.  Apparently she has been quite an embarrassment to what is otherwise a patriotic family.

I've nothing against Juan.  By the way, I'm happily married to and have been for well over 40 years to a person of the people we are dealing with.  She doesn't need dealing with inasmuch as she came here legally and unlike the smear made by granny.357 has paid her dues, speaks English and has a greater vocabulary than most who insist on English only, is now a bilingual citizen, has prospered well in her own right, and contributed as much to the defense and upholding of the American Republic and its Constitution as has any patriot and mother of patriots who have resided here during and in the same time span.

I just prefer that Juan not get carried away with an incessant cut and paste job which prevents me from reading some of the most recently posted gems of wisdom.
