Senator Harkin is still undecided on  how he will vote on the  current version of the bill, his aids say it will probably be next week before the vote. His office did say he will vote yes to the cloture vote.

Senator Grassley plans to vote no on the bill but yes to the cloture vote. His aid said she  would let him know I am greatly opposed.

Senator Harkin is involved in debating this bill as this is being posted and plans to vote no as the bill stands but would consider it depending on what amend ments are made.  I suggested it needs to be rewritten from the top as added amendments would simply leave too many loop holes.  He is alledgedly against any amnisty.

Senator Grassly is opposed to the bill as it stands, and against amnisty.

Senator Tom Harkin's E-Mail Response, 5-23-2007>>>"Unfortunately, I was not a member of this working group, so while the
general outline of the deal has been announced, I have only just received
a copy of the bill language.  At this time, I am still working my way
through the text of the bill.

While I have not decided whether or not I will support this piece of
legislation, I feel that we must work to fix our broken immigration
system.  I will be evaluating the new compromise bill based on the factors
that I feel are most important to a comprehensive solution: the need to
beef up security along our borders; the need to step up enforcement
against those who hire illegal workers; and finally, the need to create a
practical solution to allow undocumented workers presently in this country
to come forward, undergo a background investigation, pay a fine as
restitution for having been in the U.S. illegally, learn English, and
maintain a clean criminal and work record."

My reply to Sen Harkin>>>Dear Sen. Harkin,

If your kitchen water faucet was broken and spraying water all over the kitchen, creating a big mess, wouldn't you shut off the water at the source before you try to repair the faucet?
That's what's happening in America right now.  Congress is trying to fix immigration without shutting off the flow at the source...the borders.  Border security MUST be the first priority, then and only then can the problems caused by this HUGE number of illegal aliens be addressed.
I have a question also: How is it that the United States of America moved 16,000,000 American troops and all their war stuff across the Atlantic Ocean 60 years ago, but we can't figure out how to get 12,000,000 illegal aliens out of our own country?
We COULD do it if we wanted to, Congress just doesn't want to.

The new French president has it right about how to handle illegals.   Read this article and send it on to your elected reps, maybe they can learn something!

Great analogy, even one the Senator can grasp his remaining brain cells around I would hope!!!!!!

From what I understand both Tancredo and Hunter have the right approach on this, Rudy and McCain are wrong and I'm not sure where Romney is on it...Pretty sure that Fred is on board if he does indeed decide to run.

Harkin's Washington D.C. office has been receiving my emails since Kennedy and McCain introduced this "comprehensive immigration bill" to the Senate last year.  In each case, the same generic letter was sent in reply.  His latest letter is included above.  We've had an ongoing debate about his past votes regarding immigration.....all pro!  Check out NumbersUSA and read his immigraton "report card".  He's received one the lowest "grades" of all members of Congress.  Harkin obviously is in the pocket of the major packing houses in Iowa -- Swift, Tyson, Farmland, to name a few.  His voting record proves he part of the problem and not the solution.

In our area, the grocery stores are now advertising in Spanish and English.  One area school is 66% Hispanic.

Three ladies used the same baby to apply for Social Services  (changed the baby's clothes in the van parked outside the building).  Two pregnant women tried to use the same insurance card at a local hospital to deliver within a three month time span.

Two Hispanics were here to help build a new hog building frankly told a Mexican exchange student they have no intention of learning English nor assimulating.....just here for the money.

In northwest Iowa where ICE raided a plant and arrested a large number of illegal aliens, the next day another area pork processing plant was missing over 40% of the work force who were afraid to come to work for fear their place of employment would be next.  Get a hint.  Harkin reported to Homeland Security that the raid had split families, etc. put added stress on the animal slaughter that day.  If Swift gambles and hires illegal aliens, they should expect to live with the consequences of their hiring practices.

When listenng to a local radio station for the local news -- 75% of the police news includes a Hispanic name.

Approximately two years ago, on Highway 20 a car of illegal aliens crossed the center line killing one and severely injuring the driver who has spent near one year healing and in rehab.  The illegal alien driver did not have insurance.  Go figure!  It is suspected that many of the "hit and run" accidents in Denison involve illegal aliens without auto insurance.  No one really knows because they disappear from the scene so quickly.

On the other hand......Grassley is in the top ten of all members of Congress in controling immigration.   He has been quite vocal in stating the 1986 bill was a failure and this one is just like it.  He also needs our e-mail supporting him on this issue.

I've got to buy an ICE cap, wear it out and watch the Mexicans run.  You can buy them online or from Minuteman.  You're right on iowaems.

Tancredo is da man!  Hunter is on the same page with him, but I have heard he has CFR ties and that is disturbing.  Fred talks in circles.  If you listen it sounds like he might be for doing something about the illegals who are here, but then you have to wonder 'what did he really say?'  Fred Thompson definately has CFR ties.

Fred also said in a speech in CA, "I don't worry about the 12 million who are here, it's the next 12 million I worry about"..  Excuse me,  he had better worry about every one if he was to get my vote--which he won't beause of above mentioned facts.  GO TOM!!!

Just wanted to give you Iowans a thumbs up for your hard work.  I was born and raised in Iowa and had to leave for here in Sunny Arizona over 20 years ago because it was so hard to find work.   We see the flood of illegals here obviously , but thank you for making us aware of how many found their way up there.   I did not really appreciate how huge the problem was elsewhere includung my old beloved stomping grounds.   Shame on Swift. You guys keep the pressure on Harkin.  Grassley always seemed to be on the right side of an issue but lacked the muscle to have any real influence.  Too bad.  We all know Harkin in a globalist wall street hack.    Proud Iowan in the desert.

Dear friends, if you love our country as I do, please call or send a fax today to your Senator and ask him-her to kill the compromise immigration Bill S 1348.

May 30, 2007

Senator Hutchison:

If you side with President Bush on the immigration Compromise S 1348, we will vote you out of office. This is a promise.

I send this letter to the President; we do not want any traitors to represent us in Washington or in Texas.

Mr. President, The voters do care about the future of American, the one that don't give a damn about it is you, you sell out to the big corporations and the greed of the people in business, for your info exploitation breed poverty and poverty breed crime, you are not going to make America our country another Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela or Argentina. Thanks’ God the people now know what you want and they will stop you, we have send the word, if any of the Senators want to keep their job, they must vote to kill this immigration Bill, any one that side with you will be out of office. We the people will not compromise and will vote out of office any Senator that supports this Bill. Hear this we want you to enforce the law period. No excuses. Mr. President we are tired of your BS.  You were elected to protect the interest of the American people. You sell out, you are a traitor you betray the people that voted for you and the whole country.  Your legacy is George W. Bush the Republican President that destroys the Republican Party and betrays the people of the United State by ignoring our laws and our constitution to give amnesty to Illegal aliens that are in violation of our laws to supply the Big corporations with cheap labor.
