France says no to mass legalisation of undocumented immigrants

France's minister of immigration and national identity, a new ministry created by President Nicolas Sarkozy, has ruled out legalizing undocumented immigrants en masse.

The new ministry said today that government policy would be dictated by firmness and pragmatism.

We have to put aside massive legalization. It doesn't work and it penalizes, even immigrants," Brice Hortefeux said on Europe 1 radio.

Policy, he said, would be guided by "firmness and humanism" with "lots of pragmatism."

He also said he planned to adhere to the policy of deporting illegal immigrants from France. The number of deportees was expected to reach some 25,000 this year, and Hortefeux said he would ensure that figure is reached.

Hortefeux, a longtime confidant of Sarkozy, was among those named to the new government on Friday.

The conservative Sarkozy, elected president May 6, had reached out to the anti-immigration far right to capture votes, notably ruffling some feathers in his own camp with his promise to create a ministry of immigration and national identity.

Hortefeux said he planned to meet shortly with officials from sectors like the building and hotel and restaurant industries, known to rely heavily on immigrants.

Hortefeux also said he would not put into question a long-standing policy of "family grouping," by which immigrants in France can bring their families here.

However, he indicated, as Sarkozy had, that modifications may be made in order to ensure that those who join other family members in France can be integrated.

"It must be carried out in respect for the dignity of those who want to come and (in a way) that favors their integration," he said.

Sarkozy had said he wants to ensure that those who join families in France can speak French and that family members receiving them can support the newcomers.

5/24  I have been following this so called senate debate and am totally disgusted. This is just another ploy and attempt to deceive the voters (like the last minute election passage of the still unbuilt and unfunded border fence). This senate is a group of grossly overpaid individuals whose only goal is pereserving their own self interests.  If they vote for this bill, I will not only vote against them next time around but I will work on the campaign of their competitors and I  have no intention of supporting their  party in the presidential election.

Senators Menendez and Lautenberg

 I did have some difficulty getting thru on the phone and I had to call back  in order to get thru (my impression is that the phones were busy) to Senator Lautenberg. I will continue to monitor their position and ultimate vote because I have no intention of voting for the reelection of anyone who supports this bill or anyone else of the same party! This was the most important issue for me in the last election and apparently they have not gotten the message!

SUGGESTIONS

STEP 1 - BUILD THE FENCE AND CLOSE THE BORDER!

STEP 2 -  START ENFORCING THE CURRENT LAWS!

STEP 3 - DEPORT ILLEGAL  ALIENS and enforce the laws against employers.

STEP 4 - Provide an efficient and reliable system for tracking entrants into our country and identifying all illegal aliens.

 STEP5 - DESIGN A GUEST WORKER SYSTEM.

 NO AMNESTY  or PATH to Citizenship.

Both senators phone staff indicate that they have not made a decision pending discussion of the bill.

They are now requesting identifying information when you call, this is not the usual procedure as I have contacted their offices regarding other matters.

This is an improvewment over statements last week by Senator Menendez staff that he was not happy with the bill because it "separates families".  I have a suggestion for people who are in this country illegallly and dont want their families "separated".  Go home and reenter legally as many other lawabiding citizens do. This is a good sign as I usually am able to get NO response at all although they are supposed to be my elected representatives.

This is really simple:

If the ILLEGALS don't have a job, they will go home.

Impose heavy fines on employers who hire them.  Big fines for big employers, and smaller fines for the mom & pop employers.  The ILLEGALS will then go back to Mexico or wherever.  Then we can further close the borders with fences, and then send any apprehended wetbacks to jail for a minimum of 3 months.

 It's like "FIELD OF DREAMS"  -  if they dont't have jobs, they won't come.

 Like I said, this really simple change will make all the difference in those coming to USA.  All the other proposed changes to our laws should probably go forward, but then we're dealing with a much smaller number of people.

3. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker Program until Border Patrol Agents Ramos, and Compean are given Presidential Pardons for being wrongly convicted for doing their sworn duties, protecting our southern Border from Illegal Alien Drug Smugglers with 750 lbs of CDS
4. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker program until the Democrat Prosecutor Sutton of Texas is given a 12 year Prison term for giving immunity from prosecution to the Illegal Alien Drug Smuggler, Osbaldo Aldrete -Davila
5. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker Program until the $5,000,000 Lawsuit brought by Aldrete-Davila against Agent Ramos is dismissed as frivolous, and any American Lawyer representing the Illegal is disbarred.
6. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker program until all other Border patrol agents convicted or awaiting Trial have the charges dropped or Sentences vacated, and the Statute that allows them to be convicted over Criminals is changed.
7. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker program until Mexico, who is rich from Oil, Illegal Drug Smuggling, and income from Illegals, gives the U.S. Free oil as compensation for the Free Medical, Social Services, and Schooling of Illegal Aliens from Mexico. By doing so, the U.S. can get rid of the Marxist Citgo Oil from Chavez of Venezuela and his spokespersons and sympathizers, Joe Kennedy and Fidel Castro of Cuba.
8. There should be no Amnesty or Guest Worker Program until our Borders are Militarized to prevent more influx, and to determine how many of the 12-20 Million Illegals now in the Country are Convicts, Drug Smugglers, or Gang Members that should be deported; not given Citizenship or a Green Card.
9. The KBK Bill is just a smokes screen for the open borders that will be created by  the Socialist/Marxist Clinton Legislation that created NAFTA, and the proposed North American Union with Socialists Mexico and Canada that will lead the U.S. into Socialism and Marxism with the implementation of the NAFTA Superhighway, and the demise of the U.S. as a free, independent nation.

I have also constantly tried to contact them via e-mails and letters and found that either they were swamped with people feeling the same way we do OR, they just did not care at all and were going to SELL THEIR VOTES TO ILLEGALS AND VIOLATE THEIR OATHS OF OFFICE TO:

1) PROTECT & DEFEND OUR U.S. CONSTITUTION

2) PROTECT & SUPPORT ALL LAWS OF OUR COUNTRY & STATES

3) PROTECT OUR BILL OF RIGHTS FOR ALL LEGAL CITIZENS.

I COULD GO ON BUT YOU GET THE POINT!!  These people DO NOT belong in the positions they now hold! Rep Barney Frank from Boston said," all dems should vote for the amnesty bill for two main reasons.

Once we get the amnesty bill passed, all the aliens would vote for our candidates in the 2008 elections for helping them.  All union workers will vote for the dems when we vote a bill to protect all union jobs from illegal aliens swarming into the U.S.A.  This would secure the dems future for years to come!  What a sell out of our country!  It will destroy our nation Financially, Socially, Social Security programs which Citizens have a hard time getting enough to survive on, Hospitals over burdened by Illegal Aliens crossing our borders to have kids which makes them instant citizens but leaves the working class with the bills for there total care and the fact that within this wave of Illegal Aliens are those who are of the Criminal Element who would come here to rape, murder, rob let alone kill our families with Guns and Cars also gotten Illegally!!   Sure there are many problems with both parties but it is the American Voter that is allowing all this to happen!!  Wake Up, Stand Up and fight back for America before it is too late!!! Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has invoked Rule 14 on the new bad DREAM Act amnesty (S. 2205) and the vote will be tomorrow.  This act is much worse than the previous version.

 

I phoned 8 senators yesterday and will call at least 20 today.  Please phone your senators TUESDAY.  We need to put loads of pressure on them to vote NO to this massive sellout.  Call a few other senators as well, particularly those from Virginia, West Virginia, New Mexico, Maine, and Vermont.

 

Don't get discouraged.  We can beat this if everyone calls.

I have repeatedly called and written to my NJ Senators on the topic of immigration and amnesty.  Their staff respond with placating informational blurbs and "Thank you for your comments" replies, both verbal and written.  And both senators keep on supporting amnesty and open borders.   Their position is no different than the Bush administration's calculated destruction of US sovereignty. 

 As far as I'm concerned, the gloves are off.

I have, as usual, called and written both Senator Menendez and Senator Lautenberg regarding this new Feinstein attempt at amnesty.  My written correspondence follows below:

Senators Menendez and Lautenberg, 

Taxation Without Representation. That is what the majority of US citizens face today.  We elect our representatives and pay them with our hard-earned tax money, and they support the foreigners whose very first action is to break our laws.  When are you going to support the Americans who pay you, who rightly expect your protection, who grew up respecting their Constitution and civil law, and who want to lawfully maintain the world leadership in LAWFULL Immigration. You incentivize illegal invasion. You obstruct application of established law, both Federal and State. You craft the destruction of this nation’s sovereignty.  And you have the nerve to make your pay raises automatic, so as to separate even further from your responsibility to your constituents and this nation.  You immortalize hypocrisy.  You neither represent the American citizen nor fight to preserve this blessed country on your watch.  HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?  Stop the attempts at amnesty.  Stop the covert attempts to sneak through amnesty clauses on other legislation, especially this latest Feinstein attempt. The American people have, more than 26 times, ordered you to stop attempting amnesty for lawbreakers.
