South Dakota is about 70% Democrat and 30% Republican.  They have 1 AT LARGE representative in Congress.  Democrat Senator Tim Johnson faces re election this year.  You may recall he suffered some kind of illness or accident near the end of 2006 and missed nearly all of the 2007 session.  He will face at least two Republican Challengers.

 The other Senator from S.C. is a Republican.
