Let's use this thread to help us track how Senators say they are going to vote on the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill. Find stories online or better yet -- call and document how these senators from this state are going to vote. If you call, include date/time of your call.

Switchboard: 202-224-3121.

Be sure to ask:

1--Does the senator support the Bush-Kennedy comprehensive amnesty bill?

2-- Will the Senator vote to "invoke cloture" (i.e. end debate) on the amnesty bill?

Does it surprise anyone that Spector is for amnesty? I wish the people of Pennsylvania would elect officials that looked out for the people and small businesses in Pennsylvania. Ed "Swindell" Rendell, John Murtha, Arlen Specter, etc......I rest my case.

Casey is for passing immigration reform.  He would have voted for the senate bill last year.   Pennsylvania must want amnesty for illegals because I cannot get people to do anything about it.  They complain and that's the end of it.  Pulling my hair out here!Foot in mouth

Specter is a liberal Republican, he is a Democrat turned Republican for his convience........Philadelphia and Pittsburgh control the state.  A beautiful state with lousy representation.

I spoke to Sen. Casey's office two weeks ago and was ashored that he was against any amnesty bill, even though it was not created yet. I was duped.

Then I spoke to Sen. Specter's office and was awarded with "the Senator has yet to proclaim his standings on this matter". Again, I was duped.

Each representitive of the respected offices also asked how I felt about amnesty and I voiced my opinion, not loud but clear. Needless to say, I doubt that it went beyond that, after seeing how each voted "yea".

Pennsylvania has many beautiful things going for it and yet is led by those voted in to office that only see the dollar sign...for their own pockets. What they preach during election time always ends up to be lies. The lies start right in your own hometown and go right to the governor's office. That's why everyone should get out and vote, no matter if it's for local officials or the President of the United States. It's time that "We the people" take back...

Lyn9, you are completely correct in your assertions of those in 'the know'.  Arlen has been playing backroom politics for years and no one has moved to eject him or his ilk from office. Fast Eddie has invited the Mafia in to PA with the installing of Slots for N.J.  He is hell bent on getting them here because he has too much riding on his own backroom deals with the likes of N.J. crime bosses. Keep your hair it is probably beautiful!  What is needed is to wake people up to the fact they CAN do something about this.  They matter and Yes Virginia, you CAN fight City Hall. Lest we finally come to use of force as our Constitution does warrant us in the necessity of salvation of the Republic we need to impress on our fellow man, women and child the need to be informed and not allow those WE have given the power to use it un-Constitutionally.The first step is to understand our Constitution and really understand how it has been manipulated so people see the importance of keeping it pure and untouched!  It has done us good for 200 years it is NOT time to change it.  Especially in the middle of political strife when too much is at stake.  We need to get it taught again in the public (warehouses) schools and excite children to want to rise up and take control of the foundations set down by our fore fathers.  It sounds all so idealistic but it can work if we want it.  Otherwise we end up losing our Country and all those who have gone before us have died for.  Talk about worthlessness of human life.Knowledge is power in this case and getting people informed and keeping them in the loop of the political machine is necessary in order to quell the lust-thrilled endeavors of the politicians we have ion place now.  While some as a strangulation of choices feels term limits keeps them from voting their choice, it insures new thoughts and ideas.  It keeps the fires of ingenuity stoked and thereby fuels the desires for independence.Wink

YellI called both offices last week, this week too.I was told by Specter The Worms office that he would vote for amnesty,so I told them this bill is nothing but treason against the american people. Caseys office told me that he would (probably)vote for amnesty,so I told them the same thing, but I told both offices nicely that they really should vote no,as they wouldnt  be re-elected if they vote yes for amnesty.Does anyone remember when he ran against Santorum?Did he,or did he not,Casey that is,run against Santorum on an anti-illegal immigration platform?I thought I rememered that,as I voted for Santorum against him,but maybe Im wrong?

We have to watch both Senators from PA. It's my understanding that they both voted to bring the bill to the floor of the Senate without it going to Committee. To me, this says that they are both supporting this new try at amnesty.

The bill will allow people who have been deported and came back or have been found guilty of fraud; be allowed to stay in our country.  I believe that was written in for that Mexican woman, found guilty of fraud, hiding out in Chicago with her kid.

I can see it now...our country sides will turn into slums, along with small town America.  And when will companies be required to have a quota to hire certain percent of Spanish speaking workers.  And when will we not be hired if we do not speak Spanish and English.

Better yet, who the heck is going to enforce these Mexican laws?

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County ).

(All of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.
Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
Our leaders are fools for letting this continue.
WHY CAN'T WE SEND THEM HOME ?

The new French president has it right about how to handle illegals.   Read this article and send it on to your elected reps, maybe they can learn something!

Please note that NEITHER of PA's Senators voted to reject amnesty. Please, call or write or visit their local offices to let them know that the citizens of this Commonwealth DO NOT WANT AMNESTY!

I called both Senators Casey and Specter last week. Their DC staff was incredibly rude on the phone. More or less, they are going to vote in favor of the bill.  Casey stated that he and all of the Senators are listening to the the debate and will determine what is best in the near future. I asked specific questions in regards to his stance on the the policy, but none of his staff in DC or Philadelphia could answer any direct questions. Basically, Casey is a bystander being pushed around, while Specter is forcing the issue.

On a side note, I called my newly elected Congressman, Patrick Murphy (D). Surprisingly, his staff in both DC and Doylestown, PA are non-commital to amnesty and seem open to voting down a bill if it reaches the floor. I guess he understands that he can't just jump on the Democrat band wagon since he only won the district by 225 votes in Novemeber. My district has had a Republican Congressman for the majority of the last 20 years.  PLEASE KEEP CALLING HIS OFFICE BECAUSE WE KNOW HOW PEOPLE CAN TALK A BIG GAME AND THEN CHANGE AT THE LAST SECOND. HE IS ONLY A FRESHMEN, SO HE HAS TO LEARN TO PLAY TE GAME!

Hello fellow Pennsylvanians, It is quite obvious that our to Fed. Senators are selling us out on this illegal immigration issue. We also have a governor that just makes a big joke out of it.  We do have a genius in one of our state representative however, Daryle Metcalfe district 12. Log on to his website and read what he is trying to do, he also has a petition on there to sign, please sign it, www.RepMetcalfe.com  After you read about him you will be glad he is on our side, this man just like Mayor Lou Barletta of Hazelton mean business when it comes to the illegal immigration issue, by the way all of Pennsylvania should donate a couple of bucks to help Mayor Barletta in his fight for us all. Check out his website  for updates on his case and to donate at  www.smalltowndefenders.com

Another tidbit some might be interesed in is March for America-take back America in Wash, D C on june 14-16. organized by let freedom ring America, www.lframerica.com . I would love to go down in a group from Pa. If anybody has any ideas how we could organize a group and charter a bus, that would be great, I can't get enough people interested in my area to charter a bus ( I live in Lancaster County). We need to hit the streets like the illegals do and D C is the place. So please check out these sites and I'm sure you'll find out we have some darn good patriots on our side in Pa.
