Here is part of a letter from Carl Levin.    need I say more?

 

Comprehensive immigration reform must remove the ‘magnet’ that has attracted millions of people to cross the border illegally. We should not provide amnesty, but instead permit currently undocumented workers to earn the right to obtain legal status over a long period of time, under restrictive conditions, including being required to pay fees and back taxes. These individuals would be required to apply through the same immigration process as everyone else and take their place in line behind all those whose applications are pending. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the Senate toward effective solutions that address our nation’s real immigration problems. Without a comprehensive approach to immigration reform, our current problems with illegal immigration will likely continue.

This is part of a letter I received from Senator Debbie Stabenow.

She also voted to bring S 1348 to the Senate, So my guess is they are just empty words!!!!!

Stabenow is crucial -- one of 4 dems to vote against the bill last year, but she voted yes on cloture. we will need a "no" on cloture as well. keep calling! we need a commitment on cloture and the bill! Remember--the cloture vote is crucial.

I called Sen. Levin's and Stabenow's Washington offices today to inquire about their positions on the latest amnesty bill.  Their staffers said they were undecided.  I think that Levin is probably a lost cause but I'm going to call their local offices as well to voice opposition to any sort of amnesty.

 

Gee, it seems that K R Zack received the same letter from Stabenow as I did, infact I have received quite a few. It seems they know who I am,I'm sure they think I am a pain in their butt. I have saved all letters and email from both of our amnesty loving senators, for future reference.I can't say how accurate this is , but my husband is a faithful Rush Limbaugh radio listener and Rush said that our administration and FBI are keeping tabs on internet users and their emails, blogs, etc..the people that are so called extremists against illegal immigration status. I guess that would be a few million!! I don't want to sound like a defeatist, but I don't think the bastards are going to be satisfied until America is on it's knees and an annex of Mexico.  Thanks for letting me vent a little ,  jz2d  trying to stay the course in Rockford MI.

I have that letter from Carl too, no doubt he has mailed thousands of them out. You would think he would get the message. Anyway, the very first paragraph had me boiling. Here it is.

Our immigration system is broken and needs reform. I believe an effective immigration policy must include comprehensive border security and comprehensive immigration reform. We must secure our borders against real threats from terrorism and protect teh US workers, while perserving the freedoms and principles on which our nationn was founded. We must address reforms realitically, stem the tide of illegal immigrants entering the country and be fair to those who are here legally.

 

I guess he forgot that he promised to secure the border back in 86 and 20 years later we still have wide open borders. He has failed to admit that the only problem with our immigration system is that our laws were not enforced and that our government willingly gave out welfare and voter registration cards to illegal aliens with total disregard for the 86 laws preventing those actions. What bothers me the most is that he does not say "stop" the tide of illegal immigrants but to "stem" the tide and then goes on to say we must be fair to those already here? Fair?? I owe them nothing, I did not profit from their labor and in fact my tax dollars have paid the way for many of them. He may feel obligated because he has profited from them being here but I have not, in fact few Americans have. Most Americans have suffered and thousands upon thousands have lost their lives or been permanently injured because of them, far more than the casualties in Iraq. The only fair thing is to apply the law fairly and equally and deport all illegal aliens in accordance to law. If they can't enforce that law, that simple basic law, then there is no point in passing any law because Congress has admitted they have lost all control, cannot and will not attempt to enforce our laws and will in fact give way to the illegal aliens and allow them access to our country, its benefits, its welfare and tax dollars. This bill is merely paving the way for the NAU and we will not let our borders be erased. We the people will be heard, if not today, then tomorrow but we will be hear.

no to illegals, period-no flowery phrases, no "fuzzy logic" , and no PC crap-I don't care to fund naymore social programs-and that is a sure result of any bill that provides "amnesty', no matter how the words are couched to read otherwise.

We have elected senators that have sold us out.   They are telling us what we want to hear, but not doing anything that we need or want!!!

They told us they were bringing jobs here- Have yet to see that. Maybe some small companies but nothing to get excited about.

They told us they would stop importing canadian trash but that will continue for five more years. 

They said we would have borders but the only one who is creating borders is Canada.  Now we will soon be opening up our borders to the south and giving away our jobs, our economy our laws and in the future our children to disrespect, disloyalty and unlawful behavior!! They have totally sold us out!!

SAD SAD SITUATION..........MICHIGAN IS NUMBER 4 IN THE COUNTRY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT ,WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE ELECTED OFFICALS? DON'T THEY RELIZE THEY ARE SELLING OUT THEIR OWN GENERATIONS TO COME???????????

You want to control immigration? Bring back the jailed border agents and start shooting the people when they come here. Then round the present illegals up and truck them back! Don't let levin, bush, kennedy or any other so called server of the people, tell you that the greatest country on earth can't do what the government is supposed to do, and thats control it's borders. Only a duffas would believe that we have a bunch of illegals here, and the only thing we can do is give them probation, and let them take the fruits of our labors for themselves.

I voted for bush (small b) because I wouldn't vote for a democrat for dog catcher, they are all socialists BUT, johney sutton, the so called justice dept. hack that screwed the border agents, is a BUDDY of bush! Now bush is with kennedy, nuf said!

First the borders, north and south, should be secured. I do not agree that a wall is not enough. It should be built very high with a lot of rolls of barbed wire on top. After putting the two border patrol officers in prison for shoting a drug smuggler, do you think that the rest of the border patrol are going to be very strict? Next, the illegal immigrant criminals should be deported. At this point they do everything from drunk driving to killing and they are able to remain in the country. Now our smart senators want to give them the right to be here legally. Thirdly, if the rest of these illegals are able to remain in the country, the employers should be made to prove they are unable to hire an American citizen to do the job. I know for a fact that there are businesses where Americans need not apply. Only illegals will be hired. Then, we should not have to bear the cost of subsidizing anything for them including health care, schooling, etc. I am tired of getting those stupid generic replies from my senators in response to my pleas against their stupid immigration reform bill. I want answers as to why they want to continue to destroy America as we know it. I wonder if they even understand what they are doing!!! They sure haven't told me why. Tonight on the local news it was reported that a county truck had a Mexican flag on it. The mayor didn't think it was any big deal. Lets get rid of local, state, and federal governments and start over.

They go against what I want 99% of the time and the only way to get them out is pry their butts out of the easychair. Jennifer Grandholm has successfully chased  businesses out of Michigan and into Mexico since she got into office. I can't remember the last time Michigan has had a good Government and it don't look good in the near future either. I am a Michigan born citizen and my hometown of Sturgis looks like little tijuanna in the schools, stores, and the farmers fields. It used to be that the kids in school could detassle corn during the summer. Not anymore....it gets contracted to mexican immigrants legal and illegal.

One time with Levin I sent an email discussing all the issues illegal aliens have an impact on, he responded to the educational issue saying what he was doing for schools. I responded saying that was not my concern, it was the affect illegal aliens have on schools. He responded with a canned letter about health care, so again I responded saying my concern was illegal aliens and again I got another canned response that again did not address the issue of illegal aliens. You are right, 99% of the time they do not represent the views of the majority of their voters and they need to be removed. I say file a recall petition and let them know if they vote yes on this bill it will be their last vote.

And the people in Michigan (with the NEA leading the pack), keep voting these people in. It's really troubling to the mind and to the pocket book to have this state run and represented by these socialists. The people just don't get it!
