Let's use this thread to help us track how Senators say they are going to vote on the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill. Find stories online or better yet -- call and document how these senators from this state are going to vote. If you call, include date/time of your call.

Switchboard: 202-224-3121.

Be sure to ask:

1--Does the senator support the Bush-Kennedy comprehensive amnesty bill?

2-- Will the Senator vote to "invoke cloture" (i.e. end debate) on the amnesty bill?

I spoke to Senator Lugar's office about 9am CST this morning.  They said the senator is against amnesty but he hadn't stated how he intended to vote.

This is to Lugar and Bayh. This is the only way to let you know since I'm unemployed and can not send a fax. Think LONG and HARD before you make any STUPIED mistakes with the lives of ALL USA CITIZENCE. Don't just hand the whole USA over to illegals that is what you will be doing. All illegals that have become legal have worked hard to get there make the mexicans that are illegal do the same. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!!!!!! THINK ABOUT OUR FUTURE CHILDREN BEFORE YOU ACT!!!!!!! They new when they came here it was wrong and it's not our problem they decided to have children that they new they shouldn't be having here in the first place. Why should they get free health, etc. and some of us that DO need things can not get anything. It makes me sick to know they get help when they shouldn't be and I need help and to bad be sick which I do. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT PLEASE THINK!!!!!!!!!!!

I called the list given as well as sent fax to Bayh and Lugar. I also called their offices and declared that unless I had to work the polls this year I would not be voting and I know a number of other people who feel the same way. Now, all of my life I have tried to encourage people always to vote, primary as well as regular elections. I felt very strongly that it is not only a duty but a privilege to vote. It is a God given right. Looking at this country and the craziness and donwright lunacy that has been increasing over the past 20 years, with Hollywood having more influence over peoples ideas and opinions, in part causing the congress to react and become really crazy also, there are many people who feel that there is no real choice. The Democrats have been acting like 2 yr. olds ever since Clinton was elected and the Republicans just lie down and roll over. Too many times they have gone along with the Democrats on a you scratch my back and I will scratch yours, except its the Democrats who get all of the scratching. What in the world ever happened to compromise? What ever happened to good manners when dealing with your colleagues and most of all when speaking about them in public. A little rough and tumble has always pervaded in congress but what we have today are downright nasty, rotten and lying statements made on a daily basis. These are supposed to be intelligent men and women not gutter-snipes. I am disgusted to the point that I really feel that the whole congress should be fired but who in their right mind would want to take their places? I also am convinced that there should be term limits of 2 yrs per person period. If you vote for this bill which is amnesty, no matter what they say, This country is done for, doomed, and will never be the same again if this bill passes in any form. 12 million illegals need to be sent back, and do not try to say it can not be done because it can be done.

I called both Senators Lugar and  Bayh today, and said to vote NO to the amnesty bill. We cannot keep letting illegals into the country. The crime rate is going up, taxes are going up, the number of people on welfare is rising, and the population is exploding. I'm a born and bred American who doesn't want to have to leave this country because of overcrowding in the U.S. How many more do we have to let into this country before the government listens to the American people? The next thing to do is to quit catering to foreigners. They either learn to speak English or leave the country. English IS the official language of the U.S. and we are not encouraging them to learn. I enter stores anymore and no one speaks English. This country was also created with IN GOD WE TRUST and should stay that way. Anyone who enters our country should abide by the laws and customs of the United States which was created by our forefathers. This includes flying the American flag, not any other. This Is America!! This is what it is to be an AMERICAN. Not Mexican-American, not African-American, just AMERICAN!

Spoke with someone at both Lugar and Bayh's offices (this past Friday) and told them that I sincerely hope that the Senators will vote 'no' on cloture and most definitely 'no' on the amnesty bill.  Further, I informed both offices that I've been politically active in the past, and that I would personally become involved in a campaign to recall any and all senators who vote for this poor excuse for a bill.  When calling Republican senators, I said that I had never before considered changing my party affiliation, that I voted for President Bush, but that I see very little difference at this point. (I also called Mitch McConnell and John McCain's offices).  How could anyone in their right mind actually support such ill-conceived legislation?  Do they really think that when we wanted something done about illegals in our country we meant that any old action would do???  If this monstrocity actually passes, it means the end of the America that we grew up in.  According to analysts at the Heritage Foundation, many of those who would gain citizenship are among the working poor and as such would immediately become part of the welfare and medicaid programs.  That means skyrocketing taxes, deficit spending and insolvency for government programs even more quickly than previously thought.

I lived in Korea legally for three years . I think America should do what

Korea did. If someone is illegal confiscate all their money and possessions

and send them back to their country. This amnesty bill is a disgrace to our

country and nation. I hope the Indiana senators vote against this bill. If

they do not, then lets vote them out of office. I will be watching closely

Lugar and Bayh.

Smileyface65 and Joan6543.....

If you would like to participate in the fax barrage,  a site called NumbersUSA has an outstanding fax program and it is FREE!  They are a conservative site and very opposed to this "amnesty bill".  I participate in 3 different faxing programs.  I encourage everyone to check into other places, in addition to Fire Society.....all the pressure we can bring to bear is good!

I left messages for both of them. Don't know where they were on the matter but I certainly left a message I was against amnesty in no uncertain terms.

The new French president has it right about how to handle illegals.   Read this article and send it on to your elected reps, maybe they can learn something!

I called Sen Lugars office today and asked that he please not vote for amnesty.  And then  I asked that he please not support the NAU as it was coming before congress this fall.  The staff person said it  isn't coming before congress, it is only being discussed, in congress.   I said Bush, Fox and Canadian PM had already signed the agreement in Mar 2005.  The staffer said this is not true-there is no agreement--this is only a "conspiracy theory"!!!!  This almost caused me to become unglued.  I thought you would all be relieved, we have nothing to woryy about.  It's only talk,  no action.    P.S., I'm from NE and he told me contact my own reps which I do almost daily.  I told him that what happens with the Kennedy bill affects everyone so I'm calling everyone to voice my concerns.  Do they think us citizens live under rocks??

We now have a GLOBALIST  GOVERNMENT in DC.

We might as well just open our borders to ALL comers.

The thousands of factories that went to Mexico has not helped Mexico or

the US either one.  The Rulers of the world have to have cheap labor.

Be they indentured servants, slaves, or 'GHOST PEOPLE"  who dont

exist except for working and welfare. Even the Prosecutors let them go.

We had an affluent society where most everyone could make a living for themselves with just one family member working. The Globalist strategy

is to make every one poor.. cept themselves.
