Let's use this thread to help us track how Senators say they are going to vote on the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill. Find stories online or better yet -- call and document how these senators from this state are going to vote. If you call, include date/time of your call.

Switchboard: 202-224-3121.

Be sure to ask:

1--Does the senator support the Bush-Kennedy comprehensive amnesty bill?

2-- Will the Senator vote to "invoke cloture" (i.e. end debate) on the amnesty bill?

MANY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES NOT VOTING

Important!! Not sure which contact to use.. so here are both their Candidacy and the Senate contact information.

We need to pressure The Presidental candidates into a NO vote they are ones with an election at STAKE. They are the ones seeking or money as we speak!! Its a General Election they are campaigning for so we can call them all and Pressure them all.. ( except maybe Kerry, do they come any dumber?)

We need to demand their vote be on record  for this issue, so we can weigh our Presidential votes!!!

MANY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES NOT VOTING

I called both of my senators' offices this morning, @ 10:00 AM Hawaii time.

Sen. Akaka's office: The senator is not sure yet; still reading the bill.

Sen. Inouye's office: The senator is still undecided on the bill.

Neither aide I spoke to knew whether the senator was in favor of extending the debate on the bill, nor whether they would vote for cloture.

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County ).

(All of the above are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.
Over 70% of the United States ' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
Our leaders are fools for letting this continue.
WHY CAN'T WE SEND THEM HOME ?

The new French president has it right about how to handle illegals.   Read this article and send it on to your elected reps, maybe they can learn something!

I have two senators here in Hawaii who are two of the remaining handful of the 'Greatest Generation' and who both are highly decorated when they both volunteer to fight for their country in WWII and this is the CRAP I get from them:

<>May 31, 2007

Dear MSgt Cl-----:

Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration reform. I appreciated hearing your views on this important issue facing our nation.

I believe that aliens who have lived and worked in this nation for years as good neighbors, and who may eventually become U.S. citizens, should be treated fairly. Toward that end, I have advocated for comprehensive immigration reform legislation that would reduce the demand for undocumented entry by expanding opportunities for legal migration while securing our country's borders. I also believe that in debating and considering legislation that impacts such individuals and is also intended to protect the homeland, we must avoid playing to our fears so that we say ensure that our security is not obtained at the cost of a further erosion of our civil liberties and our right to privacy.

I believe that the many immigrants who left their homelands to come to these shores have greatly enhanced and enriched our society and culture. Moreover, we continue to benefit from the many talents of immigrants who have come to this Nation in hopes of a better life.
Please be assured that as the Senate continues to address the complex issues
related to immigration reform, I will keep your comments in mind.

Mahalo again for taking the time to contact me.

Aloha pumehana,

DANIEL K. AKAKA
U.S. Senator

Made me PUKE when I read the response!!! So here is what I sent back to my 'servant':

<>Honorable Senator Akaka,

Did you forget something? All I see in your correspondence is "I, I, I, I".

Are you not an elected servant of us here in Hawaii??

If so why the "I, I, I, I"? If not why the "I, I, I, I"??

The people of the state of Hawaii have spoken on this matter however you chose on your own to ignore those
you serve for (at our whim not yours).

This will be remembered in 5 years if you decide for reelection.

Michael S. Cl------
Aiea, HI 96701

PS: What part of 'illegal' don't you understand the use of 'illegal alien' has been in force since the conception of our country. My grandparents were legal immigrants and so is my wife and your family as well. They were neither alien' nor 'illegal'.....nor did they break the law coming into our country, nor did they falsify Federal documents, nor did they 'steal' an American identity which 2 of 3 are Federal felonies). And these are the
type of people you want in our country!!!

Oh by the way is this the legacy you want to leave? An American hero who not only fought for the freedom of the United States but of the world only to give away this same country to law breakers that you say are 'good' when they have no respect for our laws.

Viva La Francais!!!

Oh yeah I forgot....you will never see this since you have a staff that ensures you never see the truth as present from your constituents or anyone else for that matter.

QueMan -- Proud American sick of the BS politics of the BS politicians!!!!

I just copied this from NumbersUSA:

Cloture Vote (Reid [Sens. Boxer, Leahy, Levin, Reed, Durbin, Inouye, Mikulski, Menendez, Klobuchar, Akaka, Cantwell, Bingaman, Salazar, Feinstein, Dodd, and Kennedy joined with Leader Reid in moving that cloture be invoked]): Procedural motion that allows S. 1348 to be considered on the Senate floor.

If they're moving for cloture, they must support the bill as it is.

Please post anything that you find interesting and of value on other boards. There may be national campaigns that you are aware of that can be of value to other states. There may also be stories or information from more enlightened people that we can all make use of to educate ourselves and to act on. Do not hold back information! Share, share and share.
