Let's use this thread to help us track how Senators say they are going to vote on the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill. Find stories online or better yet -- call and document how these senators from this state are going to vote. If you call, include date/time of your call.
Switchboard: 202-224-3121.
Be sure to ask:
1--Does the senator support the Bush-Kennedy comprehensive amnesty bill?
2-- Will the Senator vote to "invoke cloture" (i.e. end debate) on the amnesty bill?
I have made my calls & faxed the hell out of everyone of them, This is the response from Isakson. Chambliss basicly stated that he is for this bill and it appears so is Isakson. I have left them messages stating, I hope they enjoy their seats in Washington D.C., because they will not be going back!

Isakson Optimistic Over Bipartisan Effort to Reach Compromise on Immigration Says Final Bill Must Secure Borders First, Prohibit New Pathway to Citizenship
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) today expressed optimism over a bipartisan effort to reach a compromise on immigration legislation and again reiterated that any immigration reform bill must achieve two key principles at minimum: Require that the first step of comprehensive reform be to secure the U.S. borders and offer no new special pathway to citizenship for individuals who are in the United States illegally.
“The pressure is now on us. We have got to fix our broken borders. If Congress doesn’t appropriate the funds and the Secretary of Homeland Security doesn’t install the barriers, hire the agents, get the unmanned aerial vehicles in the sky or create a verifiable biometric identification card, there is no bill. This is a two-step process and the first step is to stop the problem,” Isakson said. “I am optimistic we will reach an agreement that can be the foundation for meaningful reform, security of our borders and respect for our immigration process.”
Comprehensive immigration legislation is in the final stages of being drafted and is expected to come to the Senate floor for debate next week. Isakson said he will reserve judgment on supporting the final bill until the debate is complete, but he said that at a minimum the bill must include his border security “trigger” prohibiting implementation of a temporary, probationary work permit program until the Department of Homeland Security certifies to the President and to the Congress that the border security provisions in the immigration legislation are fully funded and operational.
Isakson also said the bill must prohibit any new pathway to U.S. citizenship and must require illegal immigrants to return home and get at the back of the line to apply for citizenship just as everyone must do now.
During negotiations in crafting the legislation, Isakson has pushed his border security trigger that includes five specific provisions that must be in place before a guest worker program can begin:
Manpower – authorizing a total of 18,000 full-time Border Patrol Agents.
Detention beds – authorizing detention facilities with a total of 27,500 detention beds to end the practice of “catch and release.”
Barriers – authorize additional barriers such as fences, roads or underground sensors along the entire U.S.-Mexico border.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles -- authorize funds to acquire and maintain a squadron of at least four unmanned aerial vehicles with high-tech sensors and satellite communication to allow coverage on the border by an unmanned vehicle 24 hours a day.
Biometrically secure ID – establish a biometric secure identification card program so employers can instantly verify an immigrants’ status.
In May 2006, during debate in the Senate on immigration reform, Isakson introduced a similar trigger amendment that would have prohibited the implementation of any program granting legal status to those who have entered the country illegally until the Secretary of Homeland Security had certified to the President and to the Congress that the border security provisions in the immigration legislation were funded and operational. The Senate defeated the amendment on May 16, 2006, by a vote of 40 yeas to 55 nays, but Isakson has gained even more support for his border security trigger in the year since.

The ONLY thing partially saving us right now is the bill Sonny out in place to begin July 1st. BUT, it does NOTHING for the ones that have already rooted us in Dalton out of our hometown, only new hires, so basically, if they don't leave their employer, they will never be caught up with. What a crock of BULL!
I have been hitting them from all angles. Multiple e-mails to each, faxes and calls. So far, Isakson and Chambliss haven't budged on their positions. I have SPAN2 on right now on my computer and Isakson voted to start debate of this bill. I have also contacted McCain, informing him I will not be voting for any presidential candidate who supports amnesty. I am rallying friends and relatives to hit 'em up with calls, faxes, etc. I donated to Grassfire Friday to send faxes. I sent faxes via NumbersUSA.com to key leaders. Georgians, also get on the www.DustinInmanSociety.org site and read D.A. King's blogs and all of the info. he (also) is providing to us about this bill. Dustin Inamn was a teen who was hit & run (killed) by a drunk illegal in ~1995.
I contacted Pres. Bush as well on this issue. I sent thank you e-mails to Phil Gingrey and to Tom Price regarding their non-support of this bill. I think Chambliss and Isakson got a dose of the Kool Aid and it's time for them to say bye bye to D.C. when they're up for re-election.
Kudos to whomever booed them this weekend!
C'mon Georgians, rally all of your friends, relatives, and associates to slam them with phone calls, e-mails, and faxes. Thus bill cannot pass or we're giving OUR country away to the illegals! If you haven't already, go to www.wehategringos.com and see what illegals want to do to the U.S. Scroll down on the home page to watch the flash video- with sound! This site exposes them for what they're after in the U.S. Pass it on...
I had no idea this link exhisted. You won't see that reported on by the liberal ass media. I am fired up again now. Anybody want a one day a month open season day as much as I do?
Get involved locally visit GAMinutemen@Charter.net Chambliss and Isakson need to go home next election. I'm a georgia neighbor (AL) but I'm madder than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs at the betrayal of those who campaigned on Border Security and then leave out a welcome mat. Don't let up on them for one second.

I'll look into it. Send your e-mail address and I'll forward you the e-mail I received today (Private mail) New chapters are springing up all over Georgia. This Alabama boy is glad to have such good neighbors.

Glad I could provide some insight. I was disgusted when I saw this site. I also counter-protested the illegals' march on the GA Capital in Oct. 2007 w/ Chris Krok from 750WSB. Of course, the liberally biased news made us look like we were racists. The illegals had protection from US at that counter protests- and they were allowed to trample all over OUR GA Capital when ICE offices were just down the street. Chris Krok has some sound bytes and pictures on his page on wsbradio.com. One guy tried to just sit hear or enter the illegals' protest just to watch it. The police took him aside, and ran his drivers license thru the police computer- I wanted to infiltrate the illegals' protest, but the police blocked us from even walking near the illegals. Our counter protest are was on a side street about 2 blocks from the Capital- what was totally wrong with that picture?!!! By the way, anyone who can get WSB750AM, Chris Krok is on weeknights from 10PM-2AM and this past Friday, he devoted his entire show to Isakson & Chambliss' support of this bill. He provided their contact info. on his web page and broadcast for us to contact them. I imagine he'll be talking about it again tonight.
You know, I have always been a sweet little southern baptist girl, but I'm beginning to feel like it's every man/woman for themselves. I have turned into the devil himself in just a few short days. The only thing missing is the tail. Who knows, maybe I'll grow one tomorrow.
I have always considered my home here in good ole Dalton to be my sanctuary. When I built my dream house 10 years ago, little did I know I would have Mexican's beside me and across the street. I can't even go out on my back deck without listening to their music and their twenty loud mouth kids running around screaming in spanish. I am getting ready to go postal on them any day now. Do you think the law would give me AMNESTY for insanity? Maybe they will let me out to come home and breastfeed the baby I don't have. Hmmmm.....
TEW705 don't go postal!! THEY have more rights than we do, look what's happened to border agents Compean, Ramos, and Hernandez, not to mention more to follow.
I feel bad that you have to hear that music and noise, fortunately, I am north of Atlanta in Kennesaw (you know, the town that has a law that head of household own a gun), and they've not migrated much to my area. But they're coming. They've taken over Smyrna, and there are now even entire neighborhoods of them in Marietta/ Smyrna. On occasion, I drive in that area with the Genesis song, Illegal Alien, playing loudly from my SUV windows. One thing, they prob. cannot understand the English words. They do understand, "No se puede!" I'd love to get a bumper sticker that says that. Thanks to Steve Elliott for my Stop the Invasion magnet I have had on my rear bumper since July 2006, and surpisingly, it's managed to remain there since then!! Oh yah, they don't understand English!
Too funny. My brother in law lives in Kennesaw. My inlaws are in Cartersville and what make me so angry is they can't relate to the problems we have here in Dalton. My god, we have some schools here that are 95% hispanic. If I had a bumpersticker like that on my bumper, somebody surely would be out to get me. They drive around here with MEXICAN on the top of their windshields, throw bottles out of cars onto unmarked police cars WHILE THEIR IN THEM and then ask them "What ya gonna do about it?" They have spray painted grafitti all over our buildings and in some of our used to be nicer neighborhoods are now riddled with bullet holes. The gangs are everywhere and they are all up in your face flaunting it. Makes me sick, truly does. And all the business leaders keep doing is RAISING TAXES RAISING TAXES.
Oh, and have I told you how they have figured out the system here? My friend, an EMT told me they call an ambulance because they don't like 72 hours wait in our ER. So when the EMT gets there they automatically point to their heart, guaranteed a free ride. The EMT's HAVE to take them then. Oh yeah, I work in Workers' Comp. We actually had an illegal get a $13,000 settlement from us not long ago and then change his name and show up at one of our other offices trying to get a job so he could stick it to us AGAIN! It just so happens, the Service Coordinator was visiting that office that day and recognized him from taking him to his dr's appts. I'm telling you, here in Dalton they have it all figured out!
Sounds like we work in similar settings. I work for a law firm that does med mal and worker's comp defense, you prob. know our WC attys- Hubbs & Preletsky. I cannot believe an illegal was awarded $13,000. You really have a major problem in Dalton, didn't know it was that bad. That's terrible what they do to avoid the 72 hr wait in the ER. The EMT's should slap an EKG machine on them and they'll see normal heart rhythm. But yep, they must take them to the hospital. One would think ER triage would make them wait when their vital signs were normal and they were obviously in no distress. I am a nurse (psych) but I now work for a law firm. I'd not blame you if you went postal but they'd have all of the rights and you'd be royally screwed over. Speaking of work, I'm heading for home now.
When I called the Chambliss and also the Isakson office, to voice my opinion, I was told by both that they were against amnesty but both supported a worker program. HELLO...worker program is amnesty you fools. Neither will ever get my vote again!
