I truly understand what you are saying.....I have over 500 relatives living in MI including my brother. I myself lived there for 17 yrs but back in the 60's when everyone worked in the factories.......

When my brother and I talk, he expressed the same sentiment as you....

Dear friends, if you love our country as I do, please call or send a fax today to your Senator and ask him-her to kill the compromise immigration Bill S 1348.

May 30, 2007

Senator Hutchison:

If you side with President Bush on the immigration Compromise S 1348, we will vote you out of office. This is a promise.

I send this letter to the President; we do not want any traitors to represent us in Washington or in Texas.

Mr. President, The voters do care about the future of American, the one that don't give a damn about it is you, you sell out to the big corporations and the greed of the people in business, for your info exploitation breed poverty and poverty breed crime, you are not going to make America our country another Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela or Argentina. Thanks’ God the people now know what you want and they will stop you, we have send the word, if any of the Senators want to keep their job, they must vote to kill this immigration Bill, any one that side with you will be out of office. We the people will not compromise and will vote out of office any Senator that supports this Bill. Hear this we want you to enforce the law period. No excuses. Mr. President we are tired of your BS.  You were elected to protect the interest of the American people. You sell out, you are a traitor you betray the people that voted for you and the whole country.  Your legacy is George W. Bush the Republican President that destroys the Republican Party and betrays the people of the United State by ignoring our laws and our constitution to give amnesty to Illegal aliens that are in violation of our laws to supply the Big corporations with cheap labor.

Good questions Lord53!!!!!  I live in the U.P. and counted 25 "For Sale" signs down main street yesterday!! Michigan is dieing a slow painful death!!! I don't know who the hell thought the old politians were capable of making any changes!!! I personally voted for ANYONE on the ballot that was a new chance at improving our state!!!  I am lucky enough to own my home, and am still having a hard time just getting the taxes paid!!! Let alone Food, heat, or gas to get to the store where I can't afford the food!!!  I think there is a conspircy with the Government to overtake our fine state and we are being sold up the river so they can get control over the rights to our Great Lakes!!!  Unbelievabe? I think NOT!!!  I'm staying, if I have to eat squirrel!!!  I believe there is Power in Prayer and I pray for all of us every day!! I hope I am not praying alone!!!  Just  keep the guns in the house with plenty of amo,  never know when ya might need to kill a squirrel !!!!

Ak the guys who have the for-sale signs in the yard if they drive Toyota, or any other foreign job.  Then look at the label in their clothing, and while you are at it, check the electronics and appliances.  All the ones who are complaining need to look at themselves first, Government later.

Sorry, I meant to say welcome before I started harping.  So, welcome to FS.

Thank you for responding so fast Elaina, and for the Welcome.  I have been a member of Grassroots for years, but just today signed up for FS.  You are absolutely right about not buying American, especially at this extremely important time.  Yes , I agree, if people had been paying attention long ago, maybe we would not be in this mess, however, with all the idiots runnning our government ,  allowing the floods of products comming in from all over the world it was kind of inevetable that it would get to the point where the "made in America" tag would be getting a lot harder to find!!!  I don't run this country, I only live here,  I personally harp at our Reps.  I call, e-mail, sign petations, do what I can, where ever I think it may do some good.  That is why I signed up here today, again, thanks for the Welcome Laughing

elaina,  I'm so glad to find someone else who realizes this.  If it isn't made in the USA we don't buy it.  I've said on FS before that no one in the family wanted to draw our names at Christmas because they knew that they would have to buy something made in the USA and that is not an easy thing to do.  I just do not understand people.  They want jobs yet they put others out of jobs by buying foreign made goods.  If everyone refused to buy foreign made goods things would never have gotten this bad.  I don't know at this point if it will ever be turned around.  There is a big government push for everything global.  I'm sorry but that does not bode well for this nation I don't care what they say.

I buy American made products also, but in these hard times there are many people  that are not able to buy their kids a pair of shoes period, where ever they are made.  The reality of this subject is a bit late, yes, I agree, those of us that CAN afford the higher price tag that says "Made in America"  is the only choice, but sadly, for many it is what they can afford that is what they buy.  Even the cars have their parts farmed out to be made in other countries, so even when you  THINK you are buying American it is not for sure.  And long before that there were tags that  said made in USA when in fact there was some place in Japan, called USA.  I still say it is the responsibility of those we have voted into office to keep an eye on what is  happening to us as citizens. Yes, we can do all we can to help things out, like buying American made products, but with the politicans passing laws to give other countries free reign on selling their products here is totally unacceptable as far as I'm concerned!!  If they want to sell their wares here , they should be paying a high price to our country for that privelage!! There are so many companies, with a home base here in America, that have their products made in some sweat shop, by little kids, for 25 cents a day, shipping the stuff back here and polishing them off with an American sticker!!  The ugly truth behind the products on our store shelfs has a lot of hidden agendas.  The people that run these companies only care about the money they are making, and if it is at the expense of us Americans, oh well, their families are still able to afford to live quite comfortable. Sleep in fancy homes, with lots of heat and food, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and they are totally elimiating the middle class.  Which is what I USE to be

I write and call as well, and I will be on yet another conference call tonight.  You may also contact www.meijer.com in regard to my request for English only signs in their stores.  I've had some nice response from them, but every voice counts, right?

The Government is at fault for much that is out there, but if we don't buy it, they don't need to send it.  Supply and demand.  I realize that made in US is very hard to find, but China et al would have to close their harbors quickly if we quit buying, no matter what the Government does.  This is one of the only powers we still have left.  Check out the "ship from China" thread.

Lord53, Vote the globalist, unamerican, traitors out of office. Be sure not to vote for any of the Democrats or Republicans running now. Our government has been infiltrated with globalist traitors. I live in Ohio and we are second in job loss behind Michigan. Demand a teriff on imported cars to offset the cost of labor and regulation.

Globalism is the problem, who would ever think Honda, and Toyota would replace Ford and Chevy.

Anybody see Obama cut the reporter for the local news in Sterling Heights, when asked WHAT would YOU do about the loss of jobs here? because he was WAY over his head and didn't have one of his political advisors nearby to defer to?   I think more and more he's a pompous, cocky asshole.

I know that so many are saying to quit making a deal out of the 'sweetie', but it shows several things:

He's disrespectful.  I read another post somewhere where someone said: what if someone said: 'hold on there a minute, boy' - wonder IF that would have gotten some .. equal outrage.

I don't care that he's apologized, and gave 'answers' (sorry, saying he'd work really hard to save jobs ISN'T an answer in MY book) - he's still a dick.
