Mexican teachers targeted Palmdale district to hire bilinguals BY KAREN MAESHIRO, Staff Writer LA Daily News 3/10/07 PALMDALE - The Palmdale School District will recruit bilingual teachers from Mexico under a program aimed at fostering mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries. The goal is to find nine teachers who would work at Los Amigos School, where students are taught in both Spanish and English, and at the district's junior highs in the 2007-08 school year. "We are short teachers. We are short bilingual teachers. This is one place to find them," interim Superintendent Roger Gallizzi said. The Exchange Teacher Visitor Program is the result of a 1961 federal law that aims to increase mutual understanding between Americans and people of other countries through educational and cultural exchanges, which assist the U.S. State Department in furthering its foreign policy objectives, a district staff report said. Palmdale previously recruited teachers from Canada in the mid-1990s and Spain in 2000. The recruiting trip to Spain caused some controversy as the board split 3-2 on a vote to authorize it, with some trustees complaining that the district could find qualified bilingual teachers closer to home. At Tuesday's board meeting, the vote was 5-0. Trustee Sheldon Epstein, who was in the minority in the 2000 vote, said he didn't have a problem recruiting teachers in Mexico. District officials said they are looking in the United States for teachers, but can't find the number and type of teachers they need. There is a shortage of teachers in general, especially among those with the expertise to teach math and science, officials said. "We do find qualified instructors in the U.S. We are currently recruiting in New York, the Northwest and Midwest, but they don't typically have bilingual people in certain areas," Gallizzi said. Epstein said Palmdale is competing with other areas that have growing Latino student populations. "It's a case of supply and demand, and the supply is low. We have to look at other options," Epstein said. The Mexican teachers must possess the proper teaching credentials in their own country and obtain a California credential once they arrive here. They also must take a language-proficiency exam to show fluency in English and pass a basic skills test for new teachers. A worker visa also is required, Gallizzi said. The Palmdale district will help those chosen find a place to live and familiarize them with the community, said Pauline Winbush, director of certificated personnel.
My personal opinion? It's time to pick axe California off the rest of the country. I can't believe how it's grown into the armpit of the U.S. over the course of 30 years. Did the smog get to EVERYBODY out there? It's sad, and what's worse is that anyone left with half a brain is leaving for Nevada and Arizona.
Maybe the San Andreas fault will crack and break them off, maybe even kill some of those homosexual and crooked nutcases.
And when they scream for help in their spanish, (thats all theyll speak soon) we can simply respond "We speak la no espanol'! sorry!"

Great rally and 99% positive reaction from cars passing by. An occasional middle finger, but that's to be expected :) [IMG]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170...
Hey, I'm from California and there really are some good people here too! They just need to begin to take a stand for righteousness. There's many Mexican assemblymembers, mayors and leaders in high places here. There's also been talk about election fraud and that illegals voted them into their positions. There is a lot of bad here for sure, but it can be exposed and brought to light if we PRAY and DO.
The only way we are ever going to accomplish anything in this state and our nation is if we PRAY like never before. There must be constant intercession (PRAY-ERS) behind everything of concern that comes to our attention. I'm asking the Lord to raise up His "Army of Fire Prayer Warriors" to stand in the gap while the DOERS are out on the frontlines exposing deceptions to our American freedoms.
Anyone want to join me in this???

Some people may not know this, however the "No Child Left Behind Law" that the Bush Admin. touted - mandates that all teachers have to meet the requirement of being bilingual. And the consequences is if an American Teacher is not bilingual THEY LOOSE THERE DAMN JOBS.
In addition to, President Clinton in 1993 signed into law that America has to be bilingual - and that is why when you go to the store everything is written in English and Spanish, the ATM's, etc.....................and that is when he also signed into NAFTA into law. It is amazing - all of the evidence taken together - REEKS of the North America Union. And they are now training our kids for it in school with the No Child Left Behind Law!
The No Child Left behind Law basically teaches the kids today to be good global citizens, socialists and speak Spanish! I am not kidding either. It is awful. Oh and the No Child Left Behind Law has immigration written into the bill - that states they have to hire so many teachers out of Mexico, they have special Visa's for that and the right to bring the whole family with them and apply to became a citizen! So in other words American Teachers are still going to loose a large percentage of their jobs regardless if they are bilingual or not!
Before investigating the No Child Left Behind Law myself - I did not understand what the uproar over the No Child Left Behind Law was. It is always in the papers - Washington Post and others about the uproar. Once I did my home work no wonder the teachers, school administrators and parents are outraged by this!
Now American Teachers are being replaced by Mexico, too, just like they are trying to replace American Truckers with Mexican Truckers!
Coming soon to the USA - A North American Union in 2010.
