I just received this email from Tom Tancredo.

====================

Thursday

March 22, 2007

Dear Friends,

We did it! Today we broke our goal of one million dollars in contributions!  I can’t tell you how excited and encouraged I am. The incredible outpouring of support that I have received has honestly astounded me.  To know that you will be with me, along with tens of thousands of others, and that we will have the funds to run an effective grass roots campaign is what I needed to know before I made a final decision.

And there is more great news!  I have asked my good friend Bay Buchanan to come aboard the campaign and she has agreed to be the campaign’s senior adviser.  She’s had many years of experience on the presidential campaign trail--both with President Reagan and her brother Pat.  She will be a remarkable asset to my campaign. I wanted you to be the first to know. The press release on this news will go out tomorrow.

I'm off to Iowa for the weekend where immigration is driving the debate. I'll let you know how it goes. In fact I promise to send you regular updates from the trail.  And when I can’t, I know Bay will.  Thank you for all your help.

My best,

Tom Tancredo

P.S. A note about the e-mail I had sent earlier this evening. The Democrats and the President are going to try to push for yet another amnesty that will provide a path to citizenship to people who have broken the law. They never get it. I want you to know I will be fighting to stop it with all my strength.

He cannot collect enough money to go against the Bill and Hillary hit machine. They will destroy him just like they have anyone else that has opposed them.

Oh, please do not say that!

How much money would be needed to run against them?

I've heard $100,000,000 -- or $2 million per state.

Are there 100,000,000 Conservatives out there?  If so, we all need to send him $1 and that will about cover it.

For every attack the Clinton machine makes against Tom, there will be WE WHO CAN COME ON THE COUNTER ATTACK!

Yeah Tom!!

Another problem Tancredo is going to have is, he's going against the liberal tide in the Republican Party.

This party, that used to espouse Conservatism, has since the last election tacked toward the middle or even left. Look at the front runners. Giuliani, Romney and McCain. They're all Liberal and all favor amnesty and the powers that be in the party love them all.

Tancredo has got to raise enough money for the primaries, which I think he would win, and then have enough that with party and Fed matching funds he will be able to conduct a campaign. That 100 million figure sounds about right. What will do it for him is that he'll get the anti illegal message out, something all the rest are hoping doesn't happen.

A lot of people had forgotten about illegals - typical short voter memory syndrom - but it's coming back. Tancredo is the only one who has consistently opposed the illegal invasion.

Never in my life have I ever cared about or been involved with trying to get a candidate in office.  As I have grown in age ,39, I have grown in the world of politics.  Tom Tancredo is the first person I have ever contributed to and will continue to contribute. I have written approx. 75 letters to my local representatives and have signed petitions in the fight against Illegal Immigration. I have joined groups both via the web and here in my state of Missouri to fight against the monsters that hold office seats.   There are way to many citizens who are asleep and unaware of the growing problems in our country.  I am delighted Tom has raised $1,000,000.00 and am hopeful that this is just the beginning for our new president for 2008!

I know I will do all I can to get him voted for here in Tennessee, and any state that I know someone in. If we all stick together, and not let petty differences seperate us, we can get him elected. Don't sell him short just because he's up against the liberals and the RINOs. Remember Reagan??
