That's a great question. You may want to email this polling group and ask them why they were eliminated.  Perhaps they'll include them if we let them know how we feel.

I was for Tancredo the minute he announced. I live in New Hampshire and he has opened an office in Manchester. My family can't wait to meet him and volunteer our services.

Here's another poll, which was on an old thread.  Go vote for Tancredo.  There's a new poll every week.  Let's make sure Tom's at the top of this heap!!

Either Tancredo (which I hope he does run) or Newt Gingrich (if he does run).  I like Rudy, but he is not a conservative.

I read on Free Republic yesterday that Fox News announced that Fred Thompson is considering running for POTUS.  Fred is very conservative, especially compared to Rudy or McCain.  I doubt I'll agree 100% with any of them but the only reason I would vote for Rudy or McCain would be to vote agains Hillary or Obama.  I could vote for Fred easily.

Who would I vote for if the primary were held today? McCain........no way. A Democrat in Republican clothing. No support from the base. Voted with Dems more often than with GOP. McCain/Feingold the greatest assault on the 1st Amendment in 200 years. And...I'm an Arizonan. Rudy G.........No way. Another liberal in Republican clothing. Pro-abortion, pro-open borders, pro-gun control, pro immigration reform (amnesty), Tough on terror......yes, but would he do what's necessary to protect this country, regardless of what barriers a liberal congress might place before him? Mitt............a chameleon. Don't know where he really stands. Tancredo.........tough as nails on immigration and probably other conservative issues. Needs a few billion bucks and massive exposure to get the message out. I could vote for Thomas Tancredo. Hunter.........I haven't done enough digging to form an opinion. Could be a good conservative. It's a long way to election day so hope he starts to strut his stuff in the next year or so. I guess for me it's a tough one folks. I'm realistic enough to realize that NO candidate will fulfill all expectations but right now, I'm not very encouraged by the alleged front runners. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Hello, all! Newbie, here. I like Newt (the CPAC poll results were interesting in how it contrasted to the Mainstream Media's supposed "results"; here we had a non-candidate (yet, anyway) handily beating John McCain-- lol), but I'd vote for Tancredo or (possibly) Romney, as well. Dang. Are there ANY electable Reagan conservatives out there? I want something done about out-of-control immigration. When are we going to seal the borders?!

I'd vote for Tom Tancredo simply on the basis of his conservatism and his stance on the illegal immigration.  Duncan Hunter would probably be my second choice.  I am disappointed that so few so-called Republicans take the immigration issue seriously.  I don't think I could vote for McCain if he won the primary.

Kiss Hi Everyone--I'm going to play "Devils Advocate" here, so bear with me ok.

Let's say I know NOTHING about anyone aside Clinton and Bush who will be in the race--WHO should I vote for and WHY?

And please limit the "because I like them" cudos, and state facts that can be checked and don't bother with the "because I hate them, or they're evil" ones too, unless you can pinpoint exact situations and complaints that they did or failed to act on that can also be checked out as well.

I'm NOT trying to be squirrely here, I simply want to know [like many others out here too, who are confused and disillusioned] WHY I should vote for someone.

Thanks.

kitty4mom..I like Newt because of his background.

#1 He is an historian,( I like that more than being a lawyer)  I think it gives him insight into what is really going on. The saying, "if you don't knw history you are apt to repeat it"  is true

. #2  He is very intelligent, was the instigater in the "contract with America" that won the house for the Republicans.

<> #3 He is pro-life, and as far I can find out, always has been.  In fact he is a real Reagon republican, conservative. (social and financial) He is pro-gun, pro military, pro capitalism etc.

#4  He understands Washington, he's been there, done that.  (I think Bush has proven to be niave in dealing with the Washington Dems.  It may have worked in Texas, but apparently not in DC.)

#5 He is articulate. He is a good communicator and can reach the people and explain clearly what he wants to do.  He is a great debator and can expose the other side easily

My other choice is Tancrado...the only thing that I know for sure is his policies regarding the borders...and I am 100% behind him on that score.
