Texas School District hire 162 teachers from Monterey Mexico

I could not believe what I was hearing, While wathcing Lou Dobbs he told of how the Texas school district hired 162 teachers from Monterey Mexico because they could not find enough qualified BILINGUAL teachers. If the Government would do their job they would not need to hire BILINGUAL teachers......We speek ENLGISH HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is total crap!  I want English to be the national language and I want it done now in every state!  The Congress should vote for it TOMORROW.

I agree with you zman 61, certainly one would think that there are Spanish speaking Americans that could do these jobs - although, I do hear there is a severe teacher shortage.  If it is true that there is a teacher shortage, then there may be hope for me to have a full-time, permanent job with benefits when my current IT contract runs out.  However, I'm not bilingual - so maybe even that option for me will be off the table soon.

the point I was trying make is that this is America and there should be no reason to NEED spanish speaking teachers unless they are teaching an elective spanish language class. School should not be Bilingual that just accomodates the Illegal aliens. A child that is a citizen of this country is REQUIRES to speak English that is a requirement of citizenship and if you are not a citizen you should not be burning the American taxpayers dime by attending a public school. I hate to sound harsh but I am tired of this whole situation. We as a people are being abused basically by the whole world. We send aid to over 120 countries around the world and what we get for that is abuse. Close the border sned the Illegals home, stop giving other ocuntries aid if they actively do things against us. If we are going to provide aid it should be based on their actions towards our country. That being said we need to flush the turds out of washington D.C. and start over with people that have our interest at heart. Glad you agree

Thanks for speaking up and out. 

I find it telling that the teachers union is not all over this complaining.  Don't they realize through their democrap blue lenses that there will soon be less need for them as the demographics continues to shift if accommodating non-English, non-assimilating people that for some reason are in America continues to evolve.  Besides this is the first volley of having the next group of 162 teachers being imported from India to work on the cheap...... 

Today a scare study was distributed all over the media that demonstrates the need for everyone to give in to hillarycare because health care expenditures are going to double over the next ten years and the government will have to handle this because it will be to great a challenge for peons like you and I to handle on our own.  Never mind the price of houses or cars etc. have gone up many times over through the years and we handled that one way or another.   Point is there is an absolute obsession over free health care (meaning free for some people - paid for by others) and to provide this we are being conditioned to embrace insourcing of cheaper goods, labor and services.  Notice I did not say better, just cheaper.  If constructive political and economic changes are not implimented soon this economic adjustment will begin to embed itself into our society.

Naturally, there was no mention of this in the FW paper this morning.... I'm going to get on the computer this morning & send this message out to every school system in DFW that has a website and every mother that I know... It probably won't do any good but you never know just exactly which atrocity will stir up interest for "our cause". I just keep throwing things out there hoping something will stick!

I'm guessing these teachers from Mexico are willing to work for a lot less money than teachers who are U.S. citizens. And, yes, on top of that, you should not be required to speak Spanish for a teaching job in the U.S. The students should be required to learn English. Unfortunately, I also believe that this will not change and will only get worse. People in government do not seem at all concerned with doing what's best for U.S. citizens or what we want them to do. In the end, it's all about lining their pockets with our money and taking money from special interest groups. If people in this country would truly educate themselves about the problems we are facing, they would vote differently. Most people, however, are uninformed and will remain that way. That's the reason the politicians have been able to do all the things they've done.

Texas school districts are recruiting bilingual teachers from Mexico. More than 700,000 students in the state of Texas have what are call limited English skills. The school systems there say they can't find teachers with the necessary language skills locally to teach bilingually, and at a recent recruiting fare in Monterrey, Mexico, 162 applicants were hired in Mexico by more than 20 Texas school districts.

I am an American teacher that can't get a job because I don't speak Spanish and I am over 40. I went back to school in my late 30's to become a teacher. I owe thousands in student loans while my fellow latino classmates went to school free on grants. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY? WHY IS OUR GOVERNMENT FAILING IT'S AMERICAN CITIZENS.  Maybe its time to wake up! Teachers in California are using hypnosis on students in public classrooms. I have had a campus policemen admit it to me. If our children are not safe from teachers in public school then none of us are safe.
