Do You Care my fellow Americans? I am an American I have watched the politicians create their own laws; give themselves robust perks and raises without consulting the public. I am now watching what I consider to be a pathetic circus. America will loose to these slime unless we fight them. Like little gods they huddle in their chambers ignoring the directives of the American public. From jailing border guards to granting amnesty and attempting to create laws that say don’t come to Washington with your little petitions we are not going to listen to you. The public has no idea what is good for America that’s why “ you voted us into office “. They have created a smoke screen called Democrats and Republicans and in the process corrupted both parties till they look, smell and walk alike. Both parties are so corrupt they are unsalvageable. These people cannot make common sense decisions let alone run our government. Yet we as the public sit by as everything we have worked and died for goes down the toilet.  Do you think these self-centered people care about you and me? They are not the ones without medical insurance. They are not the ones who are worried about making enough to retire on. They have made sure we have provided for them. They do not worry about social security, as they will never have to depend on it.  Your elected officials today have become so bold as to spit in your face and then ask you what are you going to do about it. Well my fellow Americans, what are you going to do about it?? Are you going to continue to worry about being, so-called, politically correct while they attack the bear roots foundation of this country? Your god is being demeaned to the point where department stores use the term happy holidays. Do you care? Do you stand up for your feelings even though the people you elected to office could care less about you? Do you care that the Ten Commandments are being attacked and removed from buildings and parks? Do you care that some professors are teaching the Muslim religion in our schools not to educate but to demean your religion. Do you care that Muslims have been allowed to protest the “infidels” that is you and me on college campuses?   Do you care that your elected officials through emanate domain steal your property? Do you care that for some reason judges are given lifetime positions? That they can create laws and you cannot legally touch them?   Do you care that your elected officials give away your money to foreign country’s by the billions each year rather than taking care of there own people. Do you care that in order to run for office these days you must be a multi-million air?   Do you care that your elected officials have ruined the American farmer? Do you care that your elected officials have been bought and paid for by Corporate America? Do you care that the job base is migrating overseas?  Do you care that your government will assist an illegal immigrant before you? I could go on and on but I think you should have the picture by now. If not what can be said.  My fellow Americans did you know that through your silence you allow consent? Yes you are agreeing.  If you do not rise to the occasion and verbally voice your opinion you allow your elected officials complete and total control over your future. I don’t know about you but I don’t want that to happen.  America needs new leadership and not from either party. Our only salvation is to register independent. Vote patriots into office with no connections to big business and start all over. Vote for those who really care about this country and there fellow man.     

AMEN!! I do care. We are having a "Freedom of Speech & Expression" rally in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. On March 17, 2007. Come stand by us BROTHER, I ask of everyone who states they care. Now is the time to stand our ground and draw a line in the dirt. This rally will be held in front of a mosque. It is not about Hate of Muslims or Islam, but the hate is the actions that they have waged war against our nation & our religion. Yes, they have used the help of our own Govenment to do it! So who is the Enemy? I think we all are aware.

Here, here.  I concur with the basics of what you call out.  Until roughly the start of the 1900s we had no federal taxes and the compensation was limited.  It has gone downhill ever since with the Government not the family taking on more and more of the burden with limited value in comparison to the cost.  Although our first elected officials could afford to hold office (effectively millionaires) none could afford to do it for long.  Effectively the reimbursment for holding the position was such that it was not a way to make money.  These officials had an understanding of what it took to be the little guy, to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, or to run a business. It is not just corporate America who has bought out our officials it is every large organization including unions such as education and agriculture (large "farmers" many of which live off of the payouts) and many others.  Enough already, it is time for a lower, simpler tax code and holding the officials accountable.  The supreme court voted down the line item veto by the President but what better way was there to permit someone to call into question the many pork barrel items added to unrelated bills.  IF the project was worthwhile the elected (pronounced bought) could over ride the veto with a 2/3 vote I am still not clear what about this gave the President too much power.  Please folks if you here that your official is responsible for one of these riders send them an email or give them a call that you are not impressed that they should be doing the right thing for the country not just their state.  If we vote Senators out of office every term they still get a pension which no other citizen that I am aware of can get a pension in less than 20 years (teachers, military, Government Service (non-elected).  This is preposterous, even with term limits to send a message we are effectively hurting ourselves as taxpayers, getting even less but still paying for it.  Anyone have any idea how to bring a case against this inequality?  Is there some way to make a rule at a state level that says that state's elected officials are not eligible for this freeby similar to the term limits petitions that were passed a while back?  Anyone a lawyer out there who is interested in helping me craft appropriate verbiage so I can start gathering signatures so if I can get it on the ballet I reduce the chance the supreme court can knock it down?  Anyone aware of any attempt like this previously?

I know that Judicial Watch has been fighting corrupt Congressmen and Sentors in court and winning.  They just won a $900MM settlement for their legal fees against illegal campaign contributions and fraud by Hillary Clinton.  There's another law firm group in DC that is linked to FairUS.org, embroiled in antil illegal law suits against our government in support of citizens who are being disenfranchised by illegals. 

Maybe something of this nature could be approached by both teams in a combined effort to represent a legal citizen class action law suit against President Bush and all the other traitors in Congress and the Senate. 

I've spoken to the head of Judicial Watch, his name escapes me right now, but he is seriously committed to all the ideals we express here, and I believe if enough people came forward, they would consider the fight.  This would be a HUGE step in the right direction.  I'm ready to sign a petition to press charges against these traitors. 

They would need some serious capital to embark upon a suit of this nature, though, so we would have to look, also, for a couple wealthy donors who believe in this as much as we do.  (is that an oxymoron)

FEDUP...I'm fed up too, in a major way, and feel like this is it.  We either stop this now or we can kiss our bums goodbye.  I would rather die fighting with a weapon in my hand, than see that happen.  Not to me, not to my children.

I would urge everyone to view the video provided on another thread "Must watch Video" It is an eye opener and also gives us some direction as to how we can get our country back. Freedom to Facism is a group formed as a result of this video. They currently have a petition to sign to abolish the Federal Reserve which is the key to saving this country. Under the 108th Congress a bill, 2778 was introduced to do just that but unfortunately it didn't make it to the floor for a vote.

Ron Paul  is on this video and speaks very candidly concerning the Federal Reserve and Income Tax. According to Mr Paul, there is no know law that requires the wage earner to pay taxes.

This is what every  senator , congresman and American should be doing today!!

YES I care.  Let's start a campaign of writing, e-mailing, faxing, phoning our representatives to let them know we are fed up.  Let them know they either vote the way we want or we are going to make sure they are voted out of office.

 We have been complacent too long and see what it has done to our country. 

Why can't we deport these people?  They say it will cost too much but how much will it cost to keep them here.

Income tax was started to finance World War II.  The politicians found a good thing and didn't let it go.  When we didn't complain they  just kept taking more and more until we are taxed to the breaking point.  Unless you are wealthy when you retire you cannot afford to keep your home because of taxes.  The majority of our tax goes to provide cushy benefits for our politicians and help everyone but the citizens.

When Social Security was formed it was supposed to be tax free, voluntary, and the money was never to be used for anything else.

Part of this is our fault as we have been complacent and let it reach this point.  Now is the time we take a stand or lose our country.

Let's take our country back and once again make it a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

If it takes fighting another Mexican-American War to take our country back - so be it.

Just a thought but wouldn't it be nice if we could find an attorney that would file a class action discrimination suit again the government in the citizens behalf.

We certainly are being discriminated against for people who are in our country illegally.  I can't think of anyone being more discrimated against.

I wonder if that would wake Washington up?

Excellent post, FedUp.  I think you've echoed all our sentiments.  While it is indeed frustrating to have the leaders that WE put in office essentially flip us the bird and tell we're stupid, I'm not giving up.  I may not win, but I'm not surrendering either.

Anyone who wants to chat either in a private chat room, via email, on the phone, instant message, whatever, count me in.

And Prisee....I've put out the call her for an attorney but I haven't noticed a response.  If there is one....how about it?  Is there basis for a class action lawsuit?  Is there basis for a qui tam fraud case?  In the absence of a lawyer posting here, does anyone have connections with a decent lawyer?

I doubt we could win the suit but maybe with thousands of people trying it would wake Washington up.

This would be the best time in the world to start an Independent Party.  If everyone that is unhappy with Washington just sent $1.00 think how much money we could raise.  If we could send more  it would be even better.

If we can find a good candidate, we could co mass mailings, buy TV time, have town meetings.

I really think we could win.

I am willing to try anything to get that mess out of Washington.

Ooopss...sorry, didn't mean to hit that twice.  I also wanted to add that we don't have to bother with the ACLU.  My husband already contact them regarding a class action suit and the head of the Boston office said, "I'm not even going to discuss something so stupid!" and hung up in his ear!

We have to come up with an idea that will let them know we are serious.  We have let them get away with so much for so long that they don't believe us when we say we are serious.

I don't know the law but if anyone does, can we ask for impeachment, file a discrimination suit, anything?

 Everyone I know and talk to feels the same way.  I would say the majority does.

We are being discriminated against.  Illegals are given privileges that we cannot get.

A friend of mine was taken to the emergency room at Baylor hospital in Dallas and was turned away.  I bet an illegal wouldn't have been.

Have you ever got behind one in a check out line?  There is something called WIC, it is kinda like food stamps.  They get the wrong brands and you have to stand there while they have to return them item by item and replace them with the specified brand.  I requested they start a special checkout lane for them and the cashier told me that they do this every time thinking we will get so frustrated that we go ahead and let them have what they want.

Did anyone read the article several years ago where they had to take 18 wheelers with mailboxes to the border so they could walk across and get their welfare checks?

Drive down any street and you can always tell where they live.  There will always be an old couch or chair sitting on the porch.

I have never considered myself as being bias but I feel I might be becoming that way.  It is hard not to when they march in our country, flying their flag and demanding their rights.  Did you see in I believe California where they flew their flag above ours with our being flown upside down?

I know that God says we are to treat everyone as we would like to be treated and I have always tried to do that but I am having to ask for forgiveness from God a lot lately.
