I gather that most prisions routinely conduct lethal weapon searches. Is this the first time an inmate has been sttacked with steel toed shoes? If a steel toe isn't lethal what is and how come these thugs were still wearing them? The Ramos family should go to court. Strikes me the Feds are pushing a vendetta against these two agents, why, I don't know?

The Warden and the officers who were working in that cell block should be fired. Either they deliberately allowed the beating or they  are so inept at their jobs they should not have them.If no one gets fired we Know that the Feds allowed this to happen,  Why???

I'm surprised the ACLU isn't all over this, not for right or wrong, not for truth and justice, but as always for the money.

I can only speculate the Feds would throw them out of the prison on their heads.

I spoke today with Joe Loya, Ignacio Ramos' father-in-law, who visited
Nacho with Monica on Monday. Joe told me that Nacho had bruises across
his torso, his chest and his back. Same was true of his legs. Nacho
was still having headaches from receiving multiple kicks and punches to
the head. Joe confirmed that it took four days before Nacho received
medical treatment. Joe says prison officials would neither confirm nor
deny that the Spanish-speaking assailants were illegal aliens.

More info here.

It is no surprise this Federal Agent was beat in prison, a lot of us know that our prisons are full of illegal aliens, drug smugglers and even marasalvatruchas!  I thank God he was not killed in there. It is like throwing a police man into a jail full of guys being charged with traffic violations, you know he is going to get a beating.

A lot of people hate border patrol agents, even other law enforcements. A lot of people think that every person that crosses illegally is coming in to work, but they are mistaken.  It's an illegal cross made by more criminals than honest working people.  I feel for the honest ones that are crossing and are getting robbed, raped and even killed in the desert by their own people.

All I got to say is too bad neither agent made a good enough shot to give this drug smuggler immunity to hell.......Oh no, I take that back, knowing our government these poor agents would be facing the death penalty and the smugglers family would be sueing for 1 billion $$$$ (I can almost bet bush would come up with the cash just to please calderon).

What happened to the dope dealer on his second haul of dope?  Ya know what, this stuff is disgusting, it's almost unbelievable.  It makes me wonder what's the motive behind all this.

First, we have a Mexican National, that enters the US illegally.

Next, he's driving a vehicle with approximately 700 pounds of dope.

Then, he's stopped by two Border Patrol Agents.

Next, he jumps out of his dope vehicle and runs.

Followed by, him turning and pointing a weapon at one of the Agents, then the second.

Next, he's shot at, but slimes across the border and gets away.

The dope is confiscated and turned in.

Then the Border Patrol Agents are prosecuted!

Then the dope dealer gets free medical aid at the taxpayers expense!

Followed by Sutton taking the dope dealer's testimony, over the Border Patrol Agents!

Finally, the dope dealer is caught with his second load of dope!  What happened to the dope?

This whole thing is fishy as hell, it stinks like dirty money!

Johnny Sutton would not let the drug dealer be prosecuted for the second load of 1000 pounds of pot.   That's how he got away with that.

As for the prison staff...........they are under what is called a "mission critical" roster.  Mostly that means that they are under staffing the levels established prior to 2001, for cost savings purposes.  And even though they have a "mission critical" number for the number of correctional officers (and other staff too), they are below that number, just look at the Supermax...........they are below "mission critical" even with the 14 or 18 new staff members they assigned, (I would guess for show) just prior to the Attorney Generals visit this week.

If you follow what is going on in our Federal Prisons you would know that all assults are up, to include assults against staff.   As to why the Warden at Yazoo Mississippi would let Ramos out into general population....... only she knows.  I don't believe this is standard operating procedures for the bureau, they do take protecting inmates seriously, they just don't have the money to properly staff our prisons.

Are you saying the act of drug smuggling ... 1000 pounds of dope ... wasn't tried in court?  If Sutton wouldn't let the dope dealer be prosecuted for that, it seems to me that act alone would be a crime in it'self, kind of like deliberate indifference.

Am I right or wrong?

As far as I am concerned there is a Yazoo Mississippi Warden that should be charged for negligence at a minimum. The arden is obligated by law to protect this inmate. this was a high profile case. there simply is no justification for his assault. Frankly, I believe an investigation by an outside agency is warranted. No agency should ever investigate itself. The assault of this man has the smell of a set up. It is my hope that each of you will contact your congressional reps and demand an investigation. This is either the stupidest warden Ive ever heard of or a set up.

I work on legal cases defending jails and prisons as a Legal Nurse Consultant, and this is definitely something for which Ramos' family needs to sue to jail, at the least for not protecting him.  Further, if I understand correctly, Ramos was not sent to the ER immediately after the beating, though he obviously had injuries requiring immediate treatment, especially when he was bleeding from the ears, which can be indicative of a head injury.  I am not sure if Ramos was at least monitored in the medical clinic.  If he wasn't, that jail is in trouble.

I contend that the assaulting of this former agent was not accidental. An 8 year old kid knows better than to release a former cop to general population. I smell set-up.Nobody in that business could  possible be that stupid. I suggest indicting the warden and his staff.
