Feb 7, 07 On Lou Dobbs TV show this afternoon, Lou stated that the DHS has admitted lying to congress while testifying in the Border Patrol agenst trial. DHS should have to pay the penalty.
the agents should be freed and these DHS people that lied to persecute these innocent men should be locked up with the illegals that beat mr. Ramos and the illegals should be provided with some steel toed boots and about 2 or 3 hours of beat the shit out of the man time!!!!
I caught the news about the DHS people last night on Glenn Beck. I was not shocked as I knew something wasn't right but, it made me so sad. Those men should be fired immediately and put in jail.
Not only did they lie but it was under oath. Where I grew up that was called perjury and you went to jail. Hello !!!!!!!! Of them all Mr Sutton should be first in line in my book. If anyone read the inerview with him that Steve posted turned my stomach. They used the wrong law to prosecute these men. WRONG LAW whoever heard of such a thing? What is up with that?
This whole thing makes me sick. Tonight at 7 EST on the Glenn Beck show he is doing an exclusive on the Border Patrol Agents. I for one will not miss that show.
We all know that the president can get these agents out of prison in the blink of an eye. So, I have an idea if anyone wants to go along with it.
Lets all deluge the white house email and comments phone line for the release of these men on VALENTINE'S DAY. That would be a Valentines day that those families would never forget. Ok, so I am an incurable romantic and yes there can be ALOT good and love to come out of all of this tragedy.
I just commented on email at the white house and I copied it here.
I am outraged and disappointed with President Bush about the Border Patrol Agents issue.
There is no more a procedure for pardon then " Let them out ". The day after his State of the Union address he made a comment " I am in charge ". If you are in charge Mr President then these men should be home with their families by this weekend. In my book ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
They were WRONGLY accused, imprisoned, and SECRETLY taken to another prison in the dead of night and put in general population WITH THE VERY PEOPLE THEY CATCH, beaten and not even given medical attention for 48 hours. Where are your Christian morals, values and love Mr. President???
Heart Sick Citizen
Do they even read these emails or delete them all??
I have written so many emails to Senators, Congressman and the White House, since this all started. I knew there was something dirty going on from Day 1. Who do you think is getting kickbacks from allowing all this drug trade to go on?? They don't want to stop the drug trade or illegals coming into this country. This country is becoming a place I no longer feel great about and I am very concerned about our future. The majority of our citizens are being ignored. It doesn't matter what we think or feel. They will do what they want. I am a Democrat, but don't have much faith in them either. Not one has addressed this issue!!!I cannot get a response other the automatic generation that it was received. But I will not give up. There are too many "dirty" people running this country. I totally agree that Sutton should go to jail for what he has done.
What has happened to the border patrol agents is horrible. If president Bush doesn't want to leave the white house disgraced he should pardon these 2 men immediately. It would be a terrible injustice to let them spend any more time behind bars. But as for the ones that lied. I agree they need to be sent to prison with those illegals and get what they deserve.
If Bush does not Pardon these border agents immediately, we should all call upon COngress to IMPEACH him... If Mr Bush is a Christian as he says he is, then he will get down on his knees and ask for God's forgiveness for not taking this matter to heart before now. Be a man, Mr PResident and do the right thing. Pardon these 2 heroes!
Well I can nt say that I am surprised. I am very sad for Agents Ramos and Compean ,their kids ,wives and parents. Also for Deputy Hernadez out of Edwards County ,Texas. Another Sutton victim .Same lies and travesty of justice there. Why our Goverment is protecting Illegal alliens before or against the will and rights of our own people. Of Course Bush did nt exactly told the truth about anything yet.Is in that the round and about way for lying. So DHS lying must not be a big deal. Nobody got fired and procecuted for lying under oath. They are actually public officials that we are paying so they can lie. Can you believe this? You are right about an investigation but who is going to do it? They can start with the White House and the Senate right behind it. Once again I would like to thank Steve Elliott ,Ron De Jong and the rest of the Grassfire people for their efforts on this case. Thanks for bringing this travesty of justice case back in the front page News. That is were it belongs.Till this case and other similar cases are trully resolved there is a black cloud hanging over our justice system.Agents freed ,case expunged and restitution made its a start. But we need to get to the buttom of this and make the true guilty pay for this travesty of justice. JUSTICE these days seems like a thing of the past...Guilty till you can prove yourself innocent.Thats if you CAN...
Don't you just love it? The spinmeisters are trying to say that all of us that are outraged over the Ramos/Compean case are being called xenophobes and racists? When did demanding truth and justice become synonomous with being hateful, cruel, blindsided people? And...why did it take over 300,000 petitions for a handful of our elected representatives to step up to the plate and demand an investigation? I am reminded of the phrase (I wish I could find the actual quote) "they came for them and I did nothing.....then they came for me."
How can we be called racists, when we are concerned about legal citizens of our country who are Hispanic? Does legal, law abiding citizens mean anything anymore? I really think this whole episode goes very deep into the corruption of this government and DHS Agents who may be on the take. Why else would they be protecting a drug smuggler? Illegals are breaking our laws in every way possible. They need to be stopped now. Even after these two men are freed, there needs to be a very thorough investigation of the DHS and punishment must be meted out to those involved including Sutton.
I joined this FireSociety forum today specifically because of this issue. Seems to me that our govt has stooped to a new low! This is first time in my life I've contacted the white house. But how could I not. What if it was my husband or loved one being beat near to death. Makes me physically sick. ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! Guess I needed some place to vent!!!
Yes, Gammi, the correct word is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist, so I said nothing. Then they came for the Social Democrats, but I was not a Social Democrat, so I did nothing. Then came the trade unionists, but I was not a trade unionist. And then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew, so I did little. Then when they came for me, there was no one left who could stand up for me." Martin Niemoller
In reference to the intellectuals in Germany that watched and did nothing as Hitler and his SS went after one group of people after anoter during his rise to power
This is totally outragous. These poor men have families and people who rely on them. They have been put through enough. They should be released and let the red tape find it's own way to dissolve. Sorry, my 2 cents.
Wow! Who does the department of homeland security work for? This new information makes me wander. I am rarely politically inclined and as one blog mentioned have not much cared; because I was a full breed American and not of essence in the issues at stake. We should commend Ron De Jong, Steve Elliott, and the entire grassfire community for their superior effort in bringing this injustice to the attention of the American people! Without grassfire, the agents may not have stood a slight chance; their effort has made a huge difference. Thank you all so much for your gallant effort.America demands innocent until proven guilty; none of us can understand what went wrong in this case. Who is to blame for this terrible injustice? Our president? He has overseen this entire process and could have pardoned these agents from day one, he choose to side with a drug smuggler. He refuses to consider a pardon or any other legal steps to help these agents. He choose the lies of his staff above the facts and the truth. The American people and our 304,000 petitions as of today he chooses to ignore. His impeachment is a vote of mine he would get in a hurry.John Sutton? The prosecutor has a long-standing relationship with our president. Sutton was the chief criminal justice adviser when Bush was just a governor in Texas in the mid 90’s. That makes me wander how many other cases has he lied about and covered up; we will never know. However we can bet big tax dollars many illegal folks will sue us and our tax dollars will defend them to figure why which illegal was done wrong. We must not forget after the smuggler escaped across a creek back to México and a waiting vehicle, with what appeared to be a weapon drawn, the agents confiscated about a million dollars of marijuana. Hello the agents turned it in and filed proper paperwork. The president and Sutton gave well-known drug smuggler immunity, free medical care and a boarder pass; Sutton then went on a mission to frame and prosecute our hero boarder agents. He admits to using the wrong law to prosecute the agents. Yes, something is wrong with this entire incident. Richard Skinner The homeland security inspector general? He admitted that the HSR lied and manufactured evidence; for his crimes, he deserves nothing less than removal from his position immediately, prosecuted, and to share a cell with folks he put behind bars. Let him take a beaten like our agent did just once; see how he likes it.Dana Hohrabacher did well in bringing presenting our signatures and demanding justice exposing a few deserving authorities. Eighty republican members of congress agree with a wrongdoing. Makes me question what is wrong with the democrats. In addition, what has been wrong with this whole mess, why has it gone this far? Why were the agents charge charged in the first place? Where were our president, congress, senators, the republicans, the democrats, and the homeland security that we count on to keep our country safe and secure; where were they for the agents defending our boarders?By all our American rights and our constitution, the agents deserve an immediate pardon, release from prison and monetary compensation for the suffering they have endured. The sentence the agents received might just as well been the death penalty. It will be impossible for the agents to survive in an environment with the very villains and illegal drug smugglers they helped put there, by protecting out country from illegal drug smugglers. It is a possibility our government has put these agents in a position that when released from prison there will be no safe place for these men or their families.President Bush has made many decisions that some of us disagree with, this is agent ordeal an ignorant decision. If he ever wants any respect from the American people he should pardon these agents with urgent hast.
All of your tax dollars fo to the fed to pay the debt that our government runs up from printing money out of thin air with no real backing, that money that the fed gets goes to the bankers that run the CFR, Bush is a lackey of the CFR just as every president has bee for 60 years
I doubt that you will even get or read this e-mail because you are "oh so important" to read an e-mail from an American citizen, who has served his country in The United States Marine Corps. Who voted for you, and is now starting to feel regret for doing so! But I will send this letter anyway in the hopes that I am wrong and you will receive it and read it personally (not one of your aids) and respond and take the necessary action required.
I am outraged by the news that the government has admitted to lying about the facts of its case against agents Ramos and Compean. There are many other disturbing facts in this case, but this admission is more than enough to justify an immediate presidential pardon. That is why I am:
1. Demanding an immediate Presidential pardon or Congressional pardon for agents Ramos and Compean.
2. Calling for an immediate Congressional investigation into the conduct of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. Everyone knows that you and Johnny go way back. "The prosecutor has a long-standing relationship with our president. Sutton was the chief criminal justice adviser when Bush was just a governor in Texas in the mid 90’s." Copied from a blog on the Internet.
Agents Ramos and Compean were doing their jobs--attempting to apprehend an illegal alien who later was found to have 743 pounds of marijuana in his possession. Now these agents are in mortal danger because our government lied about their case. This is reprehensible, and will not be tolerated by the American people!
Thank You for your lack of action and your loyalty to an old friend at the expense of two Boarder Agents doing their jobs!
I also e-mailed senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein. I've signed the pettitions asking for Agents Ramos and Compean to be pardoned of their wrongful imprisonment. I've joined Grassfire.org and The Fire Society. I have forwarded all of the information I could concerning these two Agents to my friends. Everyone would make a difference if we all do something! Don't just read and shake your head. Please take action so we can get get these agents freed. You can make a difference.
I've also signed the petition to the President to issue a complete pardon. Members of Congress are working on legislation as well that will vacate the conviction and issue a complete and unconditional pardon to Agents Ramos & Campeon. I've written letters to my Congressman, Senators, and the President, and will be following those letters up with letters to Michael Chertoff, D.A. Sutton, and the Heads of the Bureau of Prisons and of the Border Patrol.
I'm pleased to see so many other patriotic Americans are being energized by this sordid political witchunt. Let's take this anger and outrage and carry it with us beyond when Agents Ramos and Campeon get pardoned. A pardon is the only acceptable outcome to this affair, and we need to keep up the pressure until we achieve that outcome. Then, we need to move forward on implementing REAL border security.
Let's use our anger and outrage constructively by moving our so-called "elected leaders" forward...
Here's my cut-and-paste from the letter to President Bush...
February 8, 2007
President George W. Bush 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington DC 20500
Dear President Bush,
I urge you to issue a full, unconditional, and complete pardon for Border Agents Ramos and Campeon for any offenses for which they have been convicted.
It is becoming increasingly clear that the U.S. Government has pursued a political agenda in prosecuting these Border Patrol Agents, while ignoring the real issue of out-of-control illegal immigration. You need to demonstrate to the American people now that you stand with us against the incursion across our borders of undocumented nationals, even as we fight the scourge of Islamofascism on foreign soil. The two challenges are inextricably tied together and cannot be separated. To ignore the relationship is to figuratively “fiddle while Rome burns...”
Congressman John Culberson (R-TX7) and a group of Congressional representatives met with Inspector-General Richard Skinner last September in an effort to ensure that the prosecution of Agents Ramos and Campeon was valid and above reproach. They were assured at that time that there was ample evidence that the Border Agents were “rogue officers,” and that the prosecution was valid. They asked for evidence to back up that assertion and to date have been provided nothing. Indeed, I heard Cong. Culberson state earlier last evening that he had IG Skinner testifying under oath earlier in front of his Subcommittee. When asked why no such evidence had been produced, he was bluntly told that the delegation of Congressional Representatives had been “misinformed” when they were told that there was evidence showing that these Border Patrol Agents were “rogue officers.” When pressed further, it became apparent that several layers of governmental bureaucracy have conspired to fabricate evidence against Agents Ramos and Campeon in an effort to successfully prosecute them. Since their incarceration, one of them has been assaulted while being held in custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The treatment they’ve received from the justice system from the very beginning to this date has been a nonstop study in abuse of prosecutorial power and a case study of government bureaucracy gone bad.
Stop this travesty before any more harm comes to Agents Ramos and Campeon. I urge you to wake up and face the challenges facing us on our borders. You and your party have been woefully lacking in enforcing control of our sovereign national borders for the past six years. You have the opportunity now to redress some of your irresponsibility by issuing a complete and unconditional pardon for these brave agents.
I would advise you further to fully fund the border fence legislation that was adopted by the 2nd Session of the 109th Congress (H.R. 6061) and signed into law by you last year. Once your administration has established a credible commitment to border security, we can move forward to discussing more comprehensive and specific measure to meet our national employment needs.
I'm wondering if I might want to consider buying stock in pitchforks and torches if this issue isn't resolved very quickly to our satisfaction...
