While I believe in free speech. The way I understand the constitution"in context"it was addressing free speech against government.

The leftwingers tried to ram through legislation to punish grass roots organizations for fertilizing the roots with facts. It was narroly defeated. They are trying to reinstate the Unfairness Doctrine in order to silence Limbaugh, Hannity & Levin.

If we don't exercise our rights and zealously defend them, they will be lost. We must not allow free speech to be stifled as it has been already in Australia, Britain & Canada!!

I started this on line petition as a means of standing up for the first amendment: http://www.petitiononline.com/FreExp0... .

if they can't win an arguement they always try and find a way to stifle the arguement some other way.  ACLU is a perfect example. When the people speak up on immigration and try and pass laws and ordinacnes to protect their communiteis the ACLU steps in and instead of argueing the case in court and losing of the merits of the case they threaten the commuinty with continuous litigation that will bankrupt the community all the while being reimbursed by our government for doing so. The ACLU is and always has been a socialist anti-American organization.

WE AS A NATION ARE IN A VERY BAD STATE OF SELF COLLAPSE, I AM GLAD TO SEE OTHERS UNDERSTAND THE TRUE MEANING OF THE TERM, "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" & OR ALL OF THE OTHER AMENDMENTS OF THE "CONSTITUTION" ONCE THEY ARE TAKEN AWAY, THEY WILL BE DAMN NEAR OR IMPOSSIBLE TO REGAIN THEM. IF WE DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO SPEAK OUR "MIGHTY VOICES" ALL AT ONCE, THEN WE ONLY HAVE OURSELVES TO BLAME!

ONCE YOU HAVE GIVEN UP ON ANY OF THE ADMENDMENTS, YOU WILL NEVER BE GIVEN WHAT HAS BEEN TAKEN. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERE IS A REASON THEY ARE IN THE ORDER THAT THEY ARE IN.

IT IS ALL ABOUT "COMMON SENSE" WHICH IT APPEARS BY THE MEDIA REPORTS WE SEE, SHOW EVERYDAY TELLING US EVERYONE IN OUR GOVERNMENT HAS (NONE) EXCEPT FOR A (TINY) VERY TINY FEW.

IF THEY "SILENCE" ONE WORD, REMEMBER ONLY (1) WORD!!

IT DOES NOT MATTER THE (WORD) "ANY WORD" THEN WE HAVE LOST!

"WE AS A FREE PEOPLE" WILL ONLY HAVE MEMORIES OF "TRUE FREEDOMS!" WE MUST NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE TAKEN AWAY AT ANY COST! ANY!

AGAIN, "COMMON SENSE", KEEPS "FREEDOM", ALL "FREEDOMS" FROM BEING TAKEN AWAY. YES, THERE ARE WORDS THAT ARE MEAN & EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING BEFORE SPEAKING IT, " BUT IT SHOULD NEVER BE AGAINST THE LAW TO  SPEAK IT. IF YOU SO DESIRE." EVERYONE HAS THE CHANCE TO SPEAK BACK, AS WELL AS MAKE STATEMENTS, WHICH NONE SHOULD EVER BE "SILENCED" IN ANY MANNER.

IF THEY TAKE THIS ADMENDMENT, THEY TAKE THEM ALL!

EVERYONE REALLY NEEDS TO TAKE THE TIME TO, (1) ASK THEMSELVES DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE TOLD WHAT TO SAY OR NOT SAY? (2) DO YOU REALLY, EVER WANT TO BE TOLD WHAT YOU CAN DO OR NOT DO?

REMEMBER "COMMON SENSE" IS ALL IT TAKES, AND YES THERE MUST BE LAW TO RETAIN ORDER, BUT OUR GOVERNMENT, IS NOT WITHIN THE RIGHT BY THE FOUNDING FATHERS. OUR GOVERNMENT WAS FORMED BY THE WRITINGS OF OUR (FOUNDING FATHERS) OF OUR GREAT NATION TO ENSURE ALL OF OUR RIGHTS INCLUDING SPEAKING YOUR AND MAKING YOUR THOUGHTS KNOWN, NEVER OUTLAWED IN ANY MANNER.

BECAUSE REMEMBER, YOU HAVE THE "RIGHT" TO TURN AROUND & WALK OFF, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE WHAT THE OTHER IS SPEAKING OR SHOWING. BUT, ALWAYS IN THE "COMMON SENSE" WITH THE (TRUE) "COMMON SENSE" LAWS.

SOMETIMES LIFE IS JUST A PAIN IN THE ASS, BUT BEING "FREE" TRULEY "FREE" IS WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT!

SPEAK FREE & LIVE FREE

My question to everyone, is there anything & I mean anything that you as a person an indivisual should not be able to speak? There is only one answer. (NO!!) it is all about common sense. Those who says yes, or hesitate have lost their way.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So....... do I understand this correctly, Congress cannot make a law, establishing a religion, but it doesn't prohibit the FREE Exercise of Religion, or OUR Preachers right to free speach in addressing such topics as gay marrages, gays in general and other topics the weirdos consider as inciting hate crimes??

How could the proposed bill HR 254 ??Foot in mouth?Embarassed?? (better look here too; http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery... even be legal without repeal of the First Ammendment? (unless I missed something, there is nothing in this bill about hate crimes, but just giving President free rein !!???) or?http://www.washingtonwatch.com/bills/...

How do you track these bills if the same number can be two different bills??

UPDATE: link http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z... is about hr 254 of which there are many versions

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/art... is about hate crimes bill

More additions; In 2004, eleven Christians were arrested and jailed in Philadelphia for the “hate crime” of peaceful evangelism at a gay pride parade. For the full story, visit ; http://www.truthtellers.org/ Hate Laws End Free Speech. In Canada, a Christian was fined $6,000 for printing 3 Bible verses against homosexuality. A newspaper was fined $6,000 for accepting his ad. A Christian printer was fined $5,000 for refusing to print stationery for homosexual activists. He was bankrupted after spending $175,000 contesting the charge. A Christian was fined $35,000 for distributing “hate literature”--tracts critical of homosexuality. Church school administrators were forced to hire a known homosexual, under threat of prison. A pastor was told it’s a “hate crime” to hand out gospel tracts, punishable by prison.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z... is yet another bill with some scary sponsors! Makes one wonder what the agenda actually is????

I am against bodily harm to anyone except Child molesters, rapist, terrorists, flag burners and drug dealers, but this bill may have a big hidden agenda to stop freedom of speech and become part of the "gay agenda"???

I figure they know some sort of civil war is  going to happen, maybe sooner than later, and they are getting ready for it. Sometimes I feel that they have not counted on citizens to fight back as we have; the politicians know that they have let this go too far and do not know how to fix it and keep their jobs and the peace. They cannot  make everyone happy no matter what they do.

Actually, it is too late. There is no peaceful way to correct this now. 3 or years ago maybe , but not now.

Z MAN 61---You spoke of the ACLU-acommunist group!!    Roger Baldwin, the founder of the ACLU said,"Make the lie a big one-make it simple-keep saying it-and eventually, they will believe it"  Sound familiar?? That's just what the democrats are doing every day. Mr baldwin also said quote " I am for socialism, disarmament and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violance and compulsion.I seek social ownership of property ,the abolition of  the properties class and sole control of those who produce wealth;COMMUNISM IS THE GOAL.."                                                                   Lady patriot---You seem to have given up already.Don't dispare. All is not lost---YET!!We have to fight at every turn and opportunity.Hang in there--or here.

I feel I have the RIGHT to say words like nigger, queer, ho, raghead , polak, camel jockey, retard, spaz, kraut, frog, beaner, greaser, hillbilly, yankee, soda cracker, gook, slope, lezzie, geek, redskin, webeso or whatever.  You have the right to kick my ass, if you can handle it, or shut up and use your own denegrating favorites whenever you want to.  We BOTH have the right to an opinion and the right to voice that opinion......that's what the first ammendment says.  You don't like that, take your ass to a islamifacist country and you can have a whole bunch of your rights abrogated.

Precisely.  If I feel the need to call a group of women "nappy-headed hoe's" then I have the right to do so.  If that group of women do not like that......too bad.  Call me what you will.  That is your right.  (Just be careful because I have a vocabulary that would make most sailors wince)

This is how our right to free speech is taken away.  One piece at a time.  Now, you cannot call someone a name without running the risk of losing your job (fired).....losing your money (lawsuit).......or even losing your personal freedom (jailed for a hate crime).  So...tell me again that we have the right to free speech in this country.  No, we don't.  That right has already been taken from us.  The very first time someone stood up and said, "I'm offended by that comment and I want an apology."  The road to Hell began right there.

So now I simply use sign language.  Middle fingers usually get the point across.  If someone is offended by that then they sure as hell won't like the kick to the crotch.

"I'm offended" only works for liberals.  There was a black guy at work that was offended that I brought 6 dozen donuts into work on Jan. 19th to celebrate General Robert E. Lee's birthday.  I gotta celebrate Martin King's birthday whether I want to or not...so what's the problem that HE at least has the choice to celebrate my hero's birthday ....or not.

I glow with pride whenever I see or hear words from a fellow American patriot that understands the Republic's Constitution with respect to what it protects, defends, and guarantees regarding the citizens of the Republic.

The founders didn't and couldn't and wouldn't waste precious time needed to create the Constitutional Republic we have inherited, despite the fact it is hated throughout the world and even by an enormous number here within the Republic who work tirelessly and feverishly to undermine it and wholly displace it with an unconstitutional and unlawful democracy, to make an endless list of protections one citizen could hold up against another citizen who may have offended the first citizen.  Such things as offenses, crimes against persons and property, and civil torts were correctly left to the municipality, county, and state (and yes, in certain situations the feds) law enforcement agencies and the courts to sort out and handle.

However, when it came to protecting both the citizen and the state in which the citizen resided the founders so distrusted government (ESPECIALLY THE FEDERAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT) that the first ten amendments to the Constitution itself were added in order to get the states and the citizenry agree to a and ratify a Constitution, a federal union, and a Republican form of Government.

Now, I ask you, how many morons in and out of governmental offices today even know that what I have said/written is absolutely and indisputably correct.  And because it is the Ten Amendments are most often referred to as THE BILL OF RIGHTS.  Got that?  Not rocket science, I understand, but the question remains: Got it?  Bill of Rights, not Bill of Privileges.  Bill of Rights, not Bill of Grants.  Bill of Rights AGAINST what and/or whom?  Against the government, its agencies, its agents, its legislation, its courts, its rulings, its agendas, its regulations, its so-called laws, its ordinances, its enforcers (cops of all stripes and colors), and its cheerleaders.  Not you against me unless you are a "governmental agent" working in that capacity or I am a governmental agent working in that capacity.  But as nongovernmental individuals we must sort out things between ourselves or through mediation, dispute resolution, or the court/judicial system.  Got it?  The Constitution WITH its built in Bill of Rights protects you and me against the goverment - all the government; i.e., administrative/executive, legislative, and judicial.

Okay, so whether it be the right to speak freely against the government and/or in speaking freely against the government encompasses saying unpopular things or popular things you and I are, by a guaranteed, protected, Constitutional RIGHT , free to so speak - less, calling for an armed insurrection.  Now, my exercise of my freedom of speech may get me a poke in the nose by my neighbor or even worse and that, if it offends me, will have to be sorted out but its not a Constitutional or Bill Of Rights issue since it didn't involve the government interfering with my right to speak as I did, if indeed the government didn't interfere with that said right.

And so, friend(s), it is with all of our rights as citizens.  We only have them if we retain and maintain the Constitution against its foes, including the damnable ACLU.  We only have them if we know what they are and are willing to assert them, irrespective of the costs.   If the cost of asserting them is considered to be too considerable or costly or too high in effort, time and money expediture, then don't bitch if someone or many someones trample over your right(s) and no one else does anything about it.  They are your individual rights only so long as you assert them, defend them at any cost, and exercise them unceasingly.  If you waive them then you have set them aside and that is your individual loss.  Examples: let a cop search your house with your permission and without a search warrant and that's just too bad if he/she discovers something there for which you are later prosecuted.  Take a breath analysis or urine analysis or blood analysis willingly and if it comes back to bite you on the ass, too bad - you waived your rights to not incriminate yourself and to not have yourself subjected to an unreasonable search and seizuree.  Got it?  Understand it?  Want to understand it better - READ THE TOPICAL THREADS UNDER HAVE YOU RECENTLY READ THE CONSTITUTION.

Please believe me and accept what I have said because I have spoken freely, at potential cost to my life and liberty and property, and truthfully.  And if you think I could or am wrong then please believe Abraham Lincoln's having said/written with respect to the Constitution of the United State of America Republic:

"Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his prosterity, swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the country, and never to tolerate the violation by others.  As the patriots of seventy-six did to support the Declaration of Independence, so to the support of the Constitution and Laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor..."

I am so pleased to see others that do have an understanding of Freedom of Speech. We must preserve all of our rights, but if we are silenced in anyway or form, all rights are lost. There are reasons the admendments are in the order that they are. I will continue to voice my opinions freely &  I will not be told by anyone, what I can or cannot say. I highly suggest everyone do the same, the time is coming for a good ole fashioned smake down.

LIVE FREE & SPEAK FREE !!

My question to everyone, is there anything & I mean anything that you as a person an indivisual should not be able to speak? There is only one answer. (NO!!) it is all about common sense. Those who says yes, or hesitate have lost their way.

Shadowmaster,

Your own words betray you. If you did believe in all freedom of speech, you would not have to resort to the kick to the crotch if someone else was offended by your finger. This is why relativism does not ever work.

Love in Christ,

One thing I have heard from liberals is they like to have their voices heard but run for the hills and hide rather than be willing to die for it.
