Intercessary prayer

We as Christian Brothers and Sisters have a reponsibility to pray for our leaders,our country as well as each other.I like June Bug's idea.One minite each night.While I try to address specific issues,people and other things it ends up(spirit led)lasting longer.When we agree in prayer with each other we gain power.Let's stand together.

Intercessory prayer is not only our responsibility but it is our duty to pray for our country, leaders, military and communities. Plus all our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world who are serving God on the mission fields. The hair would stand up all over our bodies if we REALLY knew what these brave men and women on the mission field.

I worked with a wonderful Christian woman in our church where I am from in upstate NY. She and her husband were missionairies to Africa and the horror stories she told me scared me to death.

Then I met a wonderful missionay from the Phillipines and his were even worse, if that is possible.

Intercessory prayer is the only way and if we all pray the answers will come

My prayer life changed when I read a book by Dutch Sheets.It is called"The Beginners Guide to Intercessory Prayer".He explains that we need first to have a real relationship with GOD.Like an earthly father if we have a good relationship Him we may ask anything and it will be done!We can go boldly into the throne room and fellowship with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ!Unity is also a must! Being of one mind and one accord.

I love to read and one of many books that I have is the Left Behind Series. That opened my eyes to alot of things. Even though it is fiction based around Revelation the one of the authors is a scholar of prophecy. I love prophecy.

I am now reading Prophecy 20/20 by Dr. Chuck Missler. This man is awesome. If anyone wants to know what is going on in the world and our government and what is happening right now this is a MUST READ. This man has been involved and worked for the government for years so he has alot of inside scoop. The only warning I give is: if you DON'T like the REAL TRUTH this is not the book for you. I know it is a true eye opener for me and I am not yet finished with it.

Unless we have that relationship and connection with God none of our words or prayers will reach past the ceiling. And when we realize that Gods grace is supposed to be changing our own lives. That freedom comes with great responsibility and its not freedom to do what we want, its freedom to be what He wants us to become and all we need to do is seek Him and follow. When we stay connected with Him there will be power in our prayers and in our words to others.  God hears the prayer of the righteous.

As a missionary serving in S. Asia, I can tell you we would not have made it without the prayers of others. I have seen wonderful missionaries lost from the field because their prayer support was not strong enough.

Our soldiers also, need us to stand with them, "The battle is not won by the legs of a man or the strength of a horse.."

Can we focus our efforts. Before engaging in this prayer request seek GOD first. Once or if your in agreement can we collectively pray for national revival. This revival dosn't need a national pevent planner it needs Knees pounding the spiritual pavement. The first cleaning task is to ask local pastors how come their churches have no trespassing signs, how come the santuary doors are locked most of the time during the week. and what about the prayer line or prayer tree? These three items must be addressed. Please pray for these things to be changed for the glory of GOD.

I pray for the Lord to open the eyes and ears of our leaders so they might see and hear.  I pray for the Lord's Justice, Mercy, and Grace for America.  I pray for our soldiers, the people of Iraq, and our nation's enemies.   Only the Lord can turn this situation around now. I have never seen our nation is such a sad state.  Our nation needs healing.  Please pray.
