Fence?  Why a fence?

How about digging a canal and taking all the dirt from the excavation and giving it to New Orleans so they aren't below sea level anymore?

Then, of course, flood the canal.

Next step is to relocate some of the alligators that are pestering senior citizens in FL...

The canal provides a barrier and some irrigation possibilities, the alligators provide security, and we raise a city above sea level...

Just kidding.

I think they should do the fence thing and put another fence about 50 yards from it and turn a bunch of trained dogs loose in there.  They know they don't have to worry about getting shot (Now) but everyone is scared of a dog.

One fence would be enough...IF the government would put our military as back-up...armed with orders to shoot on sight - no exceptions!

I don't know how a fence would work here in Texas. Since our state is over 97% privately owned, by the time the government gets through paying all the landowners for easement rights there wouldn't be any money left over to build a fence except for a fence post or two. Bush is from Texas, he should know that.

Of course the government will take the land by eminent domain and then the lawsuits would start flying, adding years of delay and cost overruns. Twenty years later that $2 billion fence ends up costing us $50 billion and all we have to show for it are a couple of fence posts.

I would think if the majority of landowners would contribute a strip of their land on the border that would force the rest the illegals to funnel through the remaining property owners.  I don't think it would take long and all landowners would donate a strip of land!

Why stop with just a fence?  Why not build a wall?  We've got a workforce, ready and waiting (if not willing) just sitting there on their asses in prison.

Not only will it get the wall built, it will make hard labor hard again.

put a barrett model-99 416 every 200 to 300 yards across the whole border with qualified personel behind them with plenty of ammo and orders to shoot at first sight. One foot steps over the border one shot goes out. That would do the trick!!!!!

Reenie,

You mention the phrase "NAFTA". I can still hear Bush Sr.'s words in my head when he was in office promoting the NAFTA agreement by telling us it would greatly reduce illegal immigration by creating all those jobs on the other side of the border. Somewhere, somehow, it didn't work out quite the way they planned it.

Read on WatchDog awhile ago, that the police have taken a minutewomam into custody with her computer, and everything, believe it was Arizona, because the slum migrant camp was invaded, and their clothes were cut up.Bloggers there suggest that the migrants did it themselves, and set it up to frame the Minutemen.Pray for her, because I do not believe they did this.Looks like America may be becoming a police state, against people like ourselves.

I think all of the Southern states are becoming that way.  I've witnessed some brazen behavior several times recently from Illegals.  Boy, do they think they have it made and are untouchable!

Ask Red China how they would handle this border problem. Im sure they would have no problem popping an illegal judging from history.

Build a Fence, build a wall, build a moat they will not work unless ICE goes after employers who hire illegals.revoke contractors licence 1st offence, jail time 2nd offence, huge financial penaltys etc.Take illegals prints ,Dna and picture ,next day a free ride home and a free bologna sandwich,if you are caught here again 0ne year in jail at hard labor no air conditioning, they get to live in a tent city. That might work, what do you think?

Why not use the 100 billion taxpayers' earnings, that President
Bush wants Congress to appropriate for his two "wars,"  to build a
2,000 mile fence/moat across America's southern border?

Woulden't
that actually protect America and Americans from a Mexican invasion of
criminals, drug-smugglers, and ignorant low-lifes?  And finally
get control of America's immigration laws?

And, doesn't
American soldiers killing Iraqis and Afghans,  actually MAKE them
hate Americans and America?  Hasen't anyone informed Bush, Jr. of
this fact?

It would only take 4.4 billion not 100 Billion.

The Globalist Bush wants open borders that's whay he ordered his buddy Johnny Sutton toPERSECUTE  those two BP agents.

As far as killing Iraqis and Afghans, Our troops are not over there just slaughtering anyone that steps in the streets the way that our media would have you believe. They do lots of good things and the media only covers the bad. I am not saying that I agree we should still be there.. I think they all hate us and I don't see that changing. I  think we are a good people with a bad government. We need to remedy that situation.  Peacefully if at all possible but then it might not be possible. so here we are what are we going to do???!!

I guess Sam Hill hasn't heard of all the good things going on in Iraq that our troops are doing, like innoculating 98% of all the children.  However, Sam Hill also seems to need reminded that under Clinton, Congress enacted a law called the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998. President George W. Bush obeyed that law. Sec 4(2)-A President is authorized to direct the drawdown of defense articles from the stocks of DOD.  Clinton used this law for Operation Infinite Reach which bombed Sudan and Afghanistan and Operation Desert Fox which was a 4 day bombing campaign of Iraq to degrade Saddam Hussein's ability to produce WMD's. M. Albright stated the term degrade was used because they knew they wouldn't get all of them.  Kissinger said these campaigns were ineffective because they did not do enough damage. Furthermore, when Clinton signed the law he said, "I categorically reject arguments that this is unattainable due to Iraq's history or its ethnic or sectarian makeup." Sam Hill also needs reminded that the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 makes absolutely no reference to or direction for a post-Saddam Iraq.  Quit blaming President George W. Bush. and quit blaming the troops.

Bethany Bay - get off your high horse..it doesn't matter  who started this mess..GWB is, unfortunately, the president. He took an oath -- either he is going to live up to that oath to uphold the constitution & enforce our laws or he isn't. We all know he has decided to forgo his oath & sell out America & Americans.... and until the illegals take over all Americans have the right to blame anybody they want...including The Decider & the troops!
