Barak Obama is carefully positioning himself as a mainstream Christian candidate. He recently appeared at a conferenced hosted by evangelical leader Rick Warren (pictured here, author of the bestseller "Purpose Driven Life"). But is Obama a Christian? This in-depth, footnoted article by Rev. Rob Schenck provides an excellent summary of Obama's beliefs and a provocative challenge to Obama's positioning on faith issues.

Boy oh Boy, We definetely DON'T need a non Christian in the White House, good ol' George is doing the best that he can, with his hands tied,

God has been taken out of other areas of our lives. We CAN'T afford as a nation to have a Muslim in charge of our country.

I understand about one world order and this is a HUGE step in that direction

Obama is no more than window dressing for the Democratic Party. As a country we are still trying to figure out how we know a good Muslim from the radical Muslims. The Islamic community remains silent on the violence of those committing horrific crimes against humanity in the name of Alah.

Hollywood loves the guy so that is enough for me to not vote for him.

That one is easy.....the good muslims are the ones with several bullet holes in their bodies!!!

After reading the Rev. Schenck's article it is evident that, if Mr. Obama subscribes to his church's Black Value System, it doesn't matter whether or not he is a Christian or a Moslem.  Such a subscription would make him a socially and culturally dangerous racist.

Christian or Muslim he is still a far left liberal and if he truly believes in his Churches Black Values Agenda then he is a racist to boot.

As the Media's and Hollywood's heir apparent to the throne he will never receive my vote.

He outraged some at another speech he gave today by making a comment about the troops. The main stream news immediately went to his defense and said "well he apologized that should be enough"

Everytime he puts his foot in his mouth they are there to take it out.

As for Mitt, he would have to change his stand on immigration. I

By their fruit ye shall know them.  The fact that Obama claims to be a Christian indicates the power that Christians have.  We needn't, nor should we compromize any longer.  We can't afford it.

Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton won't win in the national election.  For that reason I hope either one wins in the primaries.  The public will vote for anybody to the right of these people, just like they did in the last two elections, so why not let the mainstream media try to sell them, and hang themselves?  Most people voted against Gore, and against Kerry; we voted for "the lesser of two evils", and I hope that we not have to choose which evil is best again.  Now we have a president that looks conservative on the outside, but in the big picture, has stealthily made a lot of progress in advancing a globalist agenda, and compromising our sovereignty.

Again,"by their fruit ye shall know them";  How can a "Christian" knowingly allow the injustice of these border guards, what it has done to their families, and now, allow them to get beat up, to boot?  Jesus said; "what you've done unto the least of these you have done unto me".  Is this how we are to love our neighbor as ourselves?  Christians like Bush do no service to the Name of Jesus Christ.  If he is a Christian he is an immature one.

I wish the conservative media would focus on the candidates that will do positive things for our country, instead of these liberals.  While we focus on looser liberals, we aren't getting the word out about the good candidates, and we'll end up with "the lesser of two evils" again.  We certainly can't rely on the mainstream media to get guys like Tancredo up front in the news.  Few people know about Tom Tancredo, but this fellow is a principled, real Christian, that would serve Christ AND his country at the same time.  Our sovereignty would be safe with him.  If he can win in the primaries, he'd beet the pants off of any socialists.  His ideals are what "We The People" have been craving.  If his were a household name as Obama, or Clinton, he'd be the next president.  Is there something we can do to achieve that?

Good Question!

We should hold public officials to higher ethical and moral standards if they claim to be brothers or sisters in our Lord Jesus.

I can not accept a brother or sister that does not weep at the thought of an infant carried to term having it's brain scrambled just before birth! I recently wrote [a devotional about this], and can say that I do not consider Obama to be a brother in good standing. Not to mention [the pragmatic need for strong vibrant Christian families] in the west in general and America in particular!

I also think [Obama seriously lacks moral resolve to be an effective leader against evil oppression].

I never want to be the one to judge if someone is "saved" or not, but his actions and the fruits of his public life do not seem to meet the standards as set forth in scripture.

I have read many of the comments on this site recently and laughed to myself.  I laughed because I am a Democrat and a staunch supporter of Border Agents Ramos and Compean. I am opposed to illegal immigration.  I am pro-life and I am a Catholic.

I thought about revealing these facts one day after I got to know everyone a little better.  However, tonight I believe I know all I need to know about the feelings of most of the people who participate in this website.  That a good man like Senator Obama would be cast as he was in this article shows me what kind of persons the authors are. And most of the readers as well.

If one must be an evangelical in order to be truly Christian, then I suppose you would not one either.  It does say in the bible, I believe, "judge not that ye be not judged."

I don't belong in this organization because I am not evangelical nor am I Republican.  But I am Christian and would never smear anyone--not even George Bush.  I try to leave the judging (if there is to be any) to God--although many Republicans seem to help Him out regularly.

Furthermore, in my stupidity (caused most likely from being Catholic and aDemocrat), I will most likely proudly vote for Senator Obama.  I think this country needs him.

Please take my name off your website.

"Evangelical?"  Christ's last words were to go and spread the gospel.  I was raised Catholic, baptized, confirmed, schooled, etc....Then I read God's word and understood His love.  As a Christian we can not judge nor smear the world because they are living  by no other standards than those they have created for themselves.  They do not know or understand God's love.  A Christian, reguardless of what name tag you attach to them , they are considered so because of their Christ like attributes,...love, humility, meekness.  If a man can stand as an authority figure and say he is Christlike, but it is okay to take innocent lives that is not like Jesus.  He has no business having authority over my family, friends, liberty, rights.  St. Paul told Corinth that Satan can take on an appearance of an angel of light and St. John repeatedly told us that there would be false leaders and to test them according to the scripture.  Our nation will only be as strong as its leader and my God says that if you are lukewarm He will spew you from His mouth.  Approving of someone in office that does not obey Him is approving of a sin and letting our lost world think it is okay.  God has better plans for us, lets not mislead anyone.

How can someone who calls themself Christian be pro-choice?For homosexual marriage?Say that they leave their faith outside the office they hold because it is personal? Liberal democrats do this often. While I won't paint every democrat with the same brush,I will say what I say to my children "you are who you associate with"!

New to the site and wanted to dive right in. I do not care what religion he proclaims to be, he is a liberal and that is a dangerous thing for this country while we are fighting a war, and yes it is a war that Congress passed legislation to be wage, against terrorism! 3,000+ soldiers deaths are a waste? As "clean" and "articulate" as he may be, he is still a liberal.

Thanks for the welcome jimmied. I am glad to be part of a site that has this country's best interest. It is sad that the opposition party has a vested interest in the defeat of our great military in Iraq, by passing resolutions against our brave heroes, and by having one of their presidential candidates calling their deaths a waste.
