It seems that Mike Hukabee is acting more and more like a Presidential Candidate. To paraphrase a former Presidential candidate, 'I was for the illeagal aliens before I was against them". No thanks Mike, I'd rather vote for someone who says what they mean and means what they say. Proverbs 6:16-19

Keep in mind our current CIC. Born again Christian, social and economic conservative - so he said. When he no longer had to face election, then NAU, Amnesty, bankrupt spending, no-win war, export of our industrial base, etc. Be very judicious about people who change their tune when they want something. Chances are they may change it again, and again, and again once they've got what they want.

I have a hard time believing Huckabee. He was such a strong supporter of immigration. Even weeks ago he said he would let them back in the country after only a few days.

Here is Huckabee talking about his TOUCHBACK AMNESTY: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jKeWI...

I am voting for Mitt Romney, he was endorsed by Tom Tancredo.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE "FAIR" TAX:
http://www.morrisdailyherald.com/articles/2008/01/16/voice_of_the_people/632tax.txt

HUCKABEE LIES ABOUT THE FAIR TAX, HE SAYS 23% - ACTUALLY 30% for starters:

"Proponents say the Fair Tax would mean a 23-percent sales-tax rate on all items purchased. First of all, the real tax rate proposed is 30 percent. The FairTax would add 30 cents to every dollar spent, but since 30 cents is 23 percent of $1.30, the FairTaxers call the rate 23 percent. Just the first bit of the numbers game."

HUCKABEE IS A LIER IN EVERY WAY!

Don't forget Huckabee wants to create the COMMANDSTITUION! He wants to rewrite the constitution to include gods will.  If you remember, America was founded by people trying to get away from religious governments....remember, religious freedom.

huckabee says whatever will get him votes. I use to like him but he changes to often to suit me. can you really say how he will act on critical issues as president? I don't think I want to take that chance when our country is at risk.

Why are you voting for your candidate? I'll tell you why I'm voting for mine ... I will vote my beliefs not only as a Christian but also as a conservative. I will vote for the person who wants to put the irs out of business not "reform it" like McDemocrat wants to which is nothing more than aka not going to do anything to or about it but make it worse just like McDemocrat-Feingold. I love and believe in God and Jesus Christ, I support the Fair Tax, I want to secure our borders, I want an end to our government spending money like Paris Hilton (the irony to this is Paris Hilton has money our government does not - it has debt and continues to take our money and waste it), I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, I believe in the sanctity of life, I believe in building our military to be stronger and ready to protect the US and Israel against Islamic fascist and ready to go in with both boots on the ground hard and heavy and an end to entering with a light foot and a leader who will respect our Generals' advice and follow it, I believe in family, I believe in happiness and positivity and humor (not fake humor but genuine/authentic humor), I believe in energy independence, I believe in the 2nd amendment and the tenth amendment and all of the Constitution (which says only a majority of the people can change the Constitution not the President who can only say what they believe but the President CANNOT change the Constitution), I believe in appointing conservative judges, I believe in crisis management, I believe in agriculture, I believe in enacting the Fair Tax and the economic plan which will take us to a place of fiscal conservativity and economic boom that you can't even imagine, I believe in healthcare being preventive health care and handled by the free market and the states (I am a Registered Nurse), I believe in the education and arts for our children and all of us, I believe in a Veterans Bill of Rights, I believe in vertical politics, I believe in Mike Huckabee. Can you say what you believe in and why? Does your candidate and do you believe in the above qualities? And if you and your candidate don't agree on most of them - maybe you should get a new candidate who does believe in all of the above, that is Mike Huckabee - Rock on Huckaboom! I'm a born-again Christian and I don't trust Huckabee any further than I could pick him up and throw him.  He reminds me of Eve's serpent with his soft speech and smooth words.  NO!  I would NOT vote for him.  I wish Fred Thompson would grow himself more.  He's the only candidate left with a decent immigration plan and not bad on other issues I've heard him speak on.I believe that by getting rid of illegals and putting Americans back into the jobs they hold it would jump-start our slumping economy because Americans would once again be spending.  Illegals don’t spend their money here – they send it back to Mexico boosting Mexico’s economy – not ours.  Also, we would no longer be supporting illegals in schools, hospitals and Welfare programs.   Domino effect – multiple birds with one stone. Drop the "anchor baby" theory too.  That law was NOT written to protect illegals that come "illegally" into our country just to drop a baby for a free ride.  Wake up America - we're losing our identity and sovernity and if we go on as we are time will prove it.

GO FRED!

I do not trust Pastor Huckabee. We do not need a pastor for a president, I want a leader for a Country. America. Save America. What is a persons religion going to do to help the country? Wake up America. Where are you? Your luck depends on your own efforts. The President is suppose to Protect out Country not preach to it. Preaching to it is not could enough.

Howdy from Montana, where there's a big sky and where you don't need to listen to a discouraging words if you so choose (Oh, give me a home...).

Well, America, are you praying?  If we Christians are faithful to pray and act on those prayers, God will give us better than we could ask or think.  If we neglect to pray, we will get what we deserve (John 14:14).  www.praythevote.org

Are you praying for Governor Huckabee and the other candidates?  It is so easy to find fault but God asks us to pray for those in authority, respect them and seek God first (Matthew 6:33).

Because I am a conservative Christian, I support Governor Huckabee. At www.ontheissues.org you will find he is our Hard-Core Conservative and as strong on the issues as any other candidate.

I won't need to pray, I will prolly vote for Giuliani, who has the brains and experience to run this country like a fine clock.  Of course, you will not vote for Giuliani because he's an Italian, and balding.  Pray for yourself. Pray that you gain enough wisdom that you are not completely fooled by Hucksters and snake oil salesmen.  Ron Paul is the only HARD CORE CONSERVATIVE left, why not vote for him ? Because you know that he is not right for president, which is what I see in the Huckster.....incompetence.

McCain too, short by several million brain cells to do the job right.

It's really Romney vs. Rudy. Both experienced, both successful, both northeast, which is rarely social conservative.  The rest are talking heads without the track record to excite us. Take a tip from a northeasterner, Rudy will not have mass executions of the unborn, nor will he advance the homosexual agenda like some Hollywood types. He will make the gubmint run efficiently, and effectively.

Finally, watching the donkeys is like watching a grade school debate, not a trace of intelligence or statesmanship, just a mud slinging battle.

I cannot understand why you have listed Mike Huckabee as opposing illegal immigration when his record clearly shows he strongly supports it.

I don't believe Huckabee's latest statements on illegal immigration-he is just saying what he thinks is necessary to get elected.

The best way to tell what any candidate will do is to look at his record, and Huckabee has been a very strong supporter of illegal immigration and  I believe he will continue to do so.

I can not in good conscience send money to Grassfire in support of  Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee's record does not show that he supported illegal immigration. Mike Huckabee had nothing to do with John McCain's amnesty plan, he never had sanctuary cities in his state of Arkansas, he opposes drivers licences for illegals, his plan calls for driving illegal aliens out through attrition, and he has committed to seal the border and never allow amnesty.

Furthermore, the FairTax plan he supports is a retail sales tax, which means that under Huckabee's tax plan, illegal aliens would have to pay taxes, along with drug lords, pimps, and other criminals.

Terry McNulty said: Mike Huckabee's record does not show that he supported illegal immigration. ....

Huckabee claims to have "never supported amnesty" but has a long record of leading the push for amnesty.

While Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee supported amnesty and benefits for illegal immigrants. His record as shown at the nonpartisan website http://www.issues2000.org/Mike_Huckab...

includes the following points:

  • He supported scholarships for Arkansas illegal aliens. (Dec 2007)
  • FAR college bill accepted illegals after 3 years. (Nov 2007)
  • Punish people who break the law; but not the children of illegals (Nov 2007)
  • Change rule barring immigrants from running for president. (May 2007)
  • Provide a Path to citizenship if illegals admit guilt & pay fine. (Jan 2007)
  • Share costs of legal immigration between states & federal. (Feb 2001)
  • Import farm workers from Mexico. (Sep 2001)

As recently as 2006 Huckabee supported the comprehensive amnesty position as shown by the following quotes from a Washington Post) Interview clearly showing that his support for illegal immigration:

**** On a pathway to citizenship: "I tend to think that the rational approach is to find a way to give people a pathway to citizenship."

****On deportation of illegals: "To think that we're going to go lock up 12 million people, or even round them up and drive them to the border and let them go, might make a great political speech, but its not going to happen."

*****On paying for citizenship: "What should happen...is exactly what I think the president has proposed, and that is that we create a process where people make restitution for the fact they have broken the law."

*****On comprehensive reform: "It's not an amnesty, and I know that there are some who think that anything less than essentially grabbing them by the nape of the neck and tossing them over a fence, real or imaginary, is amnesty. But I think that's ridiculous. And whether it's Patrick Kennedy, Rush Limbaugh, or an illegal immigrant, there ought to be some rationality in how we apply our law. We do that every day."

*****On making illegals face legal consequences: Quoted as saying it is "absurd" that those illegal immigrants who came over here illegally to work should suffer the full consequences of the law as if they've totally violated our peace and prosperity.

He only started changing his positions in late 2007 to increase his chances for the presidnecy....he can say he is against illegal immigration, but his record  contradicts him.

Mike Huckabee won the endorsement of Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project, because of his "Secure America Plan." He was also endorsed by Duncan Hunter, who is well known for his strong stance on illegal immigration. Some accuse Huckabee of flip-flopping on immigration. Even if we were to grant that this accusation is true, I believe that we should be far more wary of voting for McCain, who actively worked for amnesty, as well as Romney, who has flip-flopped on many issues--immigration among them.

The problem today is that Christians do not pray and they continually settle for second best.  Also Christians are notorious for voting their pocketbook instead of their morals. How can I, if I call myself Christian, vote for someone who is not Christ like?  I'm sorry but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who supports a national Human Life Amendment........he also supports traditional marriage and he opposes curriculum in our schools that promotes homosexuality.  I will vote my morals and I do pray.

Jonathan - Huck is being called out on many issues like saying over and over he had a theology degree when he did not.  He is actually being sued for using tax payer money to work with Vicente Fox to open a Mexican Consulate in ArK.

You need to research all of the issues with Huck and the illegals (he tried to give them free health care and college education in Ark and called anyone who challenged him a "biggot" and said that the poor children of illegals shouldn't be held accountable for the crime their parents did (coming into American illegally).

McCain has hired Juan Hernadez to his team (Mr. Mexico) - Huck is just a ringer for McCain.

Romney has hired Kris Kobach to his team - the lead attorney who is helping Hazeltown PA fight the ACLU in an anti-illegal immigration suit.

Please read thru all the other threads here and you will see the Romney is the only choice to stop illegal immigration and the merger with Mexico.

I stand by my correct statement: Mike Huckabee does not, nor has he ever supported amnesty. He's simply smarter than John McCain and George W. Bush. Rather than try to pick up and throw out every illegal alien in the country, which could be up to 75,000,000 people, he wants to drive them out through attrition. Rather than punish their children, he wants to punish the parents who broke the law. When he says the pathway to citizenship must be better, he means that legal immigration should not take a decade. However, you people are trying to twist his positions to match George W. Bush's and John McCain's positions. They are no where near the same. Which is why Mike Huckabee had no problem signing NumbersUSA's no-amnesty pledge and Senator Jeff Sessions' pledge to secure the border.
