Momentum swings in favor of Ramos and Compean

The "bureaucratic fluke" that could break the Ramos, Compean case wide open! I've just concluded an amazing interview with a great friend of Grassfire.org, Tara Setmayer, who serves as Congressman Dana Rohrabacher's director of communications. Tara was gracious enough to give us an exclusive interview on the recently completed House hearing into Mexico's involvement and influence into the prosecution of Border Agents Ramos and Compean. A number of "watershed" moments during this hearing clearly demonstrated to me that momentum has ...

I am so glad the We The People haven't given up on this issue. I also think that Johnny Sutton should be fired and punished for numerous misleading cases. Just my opinion is all. I think that GWB is letting the laws take place and I see a full pardon in the not too very far future. Thanks to Steve and all of Grassfire's and Firesociety's continuing pressure, especially getting it out to the media. That was very important for them to do. The media see's it and then people take notice. I'm not a big fan of the media, but in this case...Hoooorah!!!!

It appears that Sutton has wrongly prosecuted this case at Bush's command and Bush gets marching orders from Mexico's government in this and too many other matters concerning the border. Sutton and Bush go 'way back' as he worked for Bush when W was governor of Texas and again during the Bush/Cheney transiton. See Sutton's bio at this address: http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/txw/us_atto... With the firestorm that Grassfire.org ignited and now members of Congress are fanning, hopefully Bush will bow to the pressure and do the right thing by pardoning these 2 agents. We need to keep holding the administration's feet to the fire. This is just one more example of GW being totally out of touch with the American people.

In their arrogance this Administration apparently thought (still thinks) they could do the Mexican government's bidding and stonewall their way out. Thank God for Congressmen like Rohrbacher and Grassfire and citizens not too apathetic or busy to make their voices heard and stay after this. The deeper anyone digs, the nastier it seems to get! But, finally, it appears to be turning a corner, thanks to a fluke (some good luck) and a lot of persistence.

Thank God there is a flicker at the end of this tunnel!!!  Great work Mr. Elliott and Grassfire.org!!  You guys are awesome, as tenacious as pitbulls!!  If I'm ever treated unjustly, I want you guys on my team!!  Thank you to Ms. Setmayer, she's doing an excellent job also (maybe she can replace ole' "johnny boy" once he's thrown in the slammer!!  This is what America is all about "we the people".  Not some power tripping jackass who's friend with another jackass named "george!"  Maybe we can take our country back afterall!!  Great job to all those who sent donations and signed petitions!! WE ROCK!! These border agents are very fortunate to have "true Americans" behind them!  God Bless America!

It is a heart felt moment to see the American people waking up and taking a look at our government and what it is doing instead of just sitting around and complaining about it. Now the government must keep its best foot forward all the time and remember some one is watching their left hand while we are watching their right hand at work.

I will take Steve Elliot's word, and I am paraphrasing, that we are moving mountains (figuratively speaking) with the ADMINISTRATION responding to the will of the people. We should all be encouraging our  President to do the right thing, stop being a dogmatic servant with blind loyalties and liberate our Border Patrol Agents, Ramos and Compean.

Even if the agents made a error in judgement, job termination would be more appropriate than the punishment they are getting for protecting us from drug dealers, the true death and destruction merchants of our children and underminors of  our society.

As the Homeland Security leaders say, "We must stay vigilant!"

Be a hero again Mr. President.

Respectfully,

 Mike Murphy from Arizona

Former Legislative District Chairman and State Comitteman 1987-1990

As you can see I am newly registered but I have written many letters in support of Compean and Ramos.  My contention is if these border patrolmen erred in their duty it should have been handled in-house by an internal review board.  If the board found them guilty the penalty should have been no more than a two day suspension.  Their trial was a kangaroo court because the jury was coerced.  In addition there was interference by a foreign government which caused it to be an international issue and should have been handled in a higher court, known evidence was withheld and possible false evidence submitted (how did this alleged injury really occur?), a suspected foreign felon's rights wrongly superseded American law officers rights, and their sentence was outrageous.  This abomination of justice has more to do with the illegal enforcement of NAFTA than the punishment of a couple of respected law officers and it seems their only possible respite is a pardon from the perpetrator. My real reason for commenting is to thank you for the interview with Tara Setmayer but would you please include a transcript?  These old ears of mine are hearing impaired and I could only make out about half of what was said.

Secret combinations are at work to destroy our freedom.  It is to their benefit.

Create confusion, disorder and chaos and people will demand that the "government do something."  That something is the prelude to what Carrol Quigley stated in his book, Tragedy or Hope.  The tragedy is,  little people like you and me refuse to place our necks in the noose prepared for our political demise, and the hope is, the "new", global, world government will make our earth a community of blissful, tidy behaviors controlled completely by the government, and the "mess" of unwanted behavior will be disposed of. Think George Orwell, 1984.

After our border Agents, Ramos and Compean are exonerated, I hope a push will be put on to demand the removal of the attorney general and Sutton from their positions. Prosecute if possible.

This interview with Tara Setmayer has got to be one of the most encouraging things I've heard to date. The distain for our system of checks and balances as well as our laws is blatantly obvious. As Bobby said above, the prosecutor is the crook but he is only the small tip of a very large and ugly iceburg floating under the surface of this meanacing issue with Mexico. One thing is for sure. Education is the key. When the people, through education, begin to wake from their government/media induced slumber and see what is really going on, they begin to take responsibility by holding their government representatives accountable for their actions. Amen!

As a life-long Republican and conservative, I am so sad at what I see regarding the whole illegal immigration issue and specifically----the injustice, the blatant injustice, here.  What gives Mr. President?  The only bright spot is that "we, the People" have managed to do something amazing thanks to Grassfire.  I stopped contributing to the Republican party and now the money goes to Grassfire!!  People, keep vigilant and keep praying.  Leyla

Our entire Judicial system is corrupted by money and political influences, justice has been replaced by bureaucratic dictator rule. A persons innocence or guilt has no baring on the Courts decision, only the political correctness of the matter counts.

If Johnny Sutton is supeoned to appear before John Conyers' Judicial Committee....his only hope will be the 'Emergency Escape Position'.

Johnny better learn how to bend waaay over....grab hold of both ankles....stick his funny little head back between his legs as far as he can....and kiss his butt goodbye.  Wink
