Day 113 -- Patty Compean responds to El Paso Times article

Dear Grassfire team,   I am writing in response to the recent El Paso Times article entitled Man shot by jailed ex-border agents tells his story by Louie Gilot . This article is nothing new for those of us who are familiar with the media coverage of the Ramos and Compean case, which was not only pro-smuggler, but ignored the facts, which is what the government needed. For those who are not aware, you need to read the article and ...

                 Patty,

Some people can't see the forest for all those pesky trees in their way.  The reporter who gave him the time of day and Davila himself are not in the same reality we currently live in.  As you so eloquently put it-it is what it is.  Keep the faith and God bless you.

Mrs. Compean; You,your husband and Agent Ramos and his family are in our prayers. With prayers and phone calls we can turn this around. It is a shame that most of our media and politicians are so corrupt and out in left field. Our elected officials are put in office to uphold the laws of this land and they ignorantly spit in our faces. Enough is enough, It's time to wake up America and stand for whats right. Mrs. Compean,

I can't tell you how sad this makes me.  I can't imagine not being away from my kids for days let alone years.  It makes me so mad to see a drug smuggler treated with respect and two of our best border agents treated as criminals.  I think we are all in an alternate reality.  This is just backwards and insane.

Don't give up.  I won't.

          2 Corinthians 12:9,10   Stay strong.

"Life is a hard battle, a struggle, a wrestling with the priciple of evil, hand to hand, foot to foot. Every inch of the way is disputed. The night is given us to take breath, to pray, to drink deep at the fountain of power. The day to use the strength that has been given us, to go forth to work with it til evening."  - Florence Nightingale

This story never ceases to irritate me greatly everytime I look at it again. Im so sorry for what you have to go through. After a fire I had to move in with my son for 6 months while they fixed my house and we were all, my son, myself, and my 4 kids in a one room apartment for that time. I was burned 3rd degree. It led me to Jesus. I would suffer that again gladly to have gotten the knowledge of Christ. I know you would also stand again to see the outcome Im confident we will get through all this. A new beginning for America. Im so sad for what you went through and yet thankful for it waking me up and starting me on a new journey. May God flood you with peace daily, you and your family. May He hold you close as you loose your surroundings and run to Him for refuge.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written,:For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Nothin shall separate us from the love of God. Hold on to Him.

Patty and Jose, That article is infuriating. I can't believe that reporter even gave him the time of day much less a forum for his idiocy and lies. I will keep the two of you and your family in my prayers and anything else I can do to help right the wrong done to you by our own government. I have called my congressman I have sent faxes and I have forwarded the link to your blog and the petition to everyone I know. I won't stop... please don't give up. You have many, many people on your side.

Hi Jose and Patty, I want you to know that I'm thinking about you and your family and hope you're doing ok. Know that you're not alone or forgotten, that thousands of emails, phone calls, and letters are going out on your behalf to many elected officials. Even if it seems silent and lonely where you are, I want to assure you that faxes and phones are ringing loudly and will continue to do so until you are released. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Graciela

It sickens me to see this scumbag drug smuggler given any forum to tell more lies and try to garner sympathy for himself! Why is he not sitting behind bars for trying to bring a load of drugs into our country to be put in the hands of our children? Why isn't he getting the money for his much needed operation from the scumbags who hired him to smuggle the drugs? I'm sure they could pay the $30,000.00 he claims to need. I am waiting for the day when the smuggler, the ones who hired him, Johnny Sutton, and the bozo from Homeland Security who admitted that evidence was withheld from the jury(I can't remember his name) are brought up on charges and sent to prison. Then, and only then, will justice be done in the cases of Jose Compean, "Nacho" Ramos, Gilmer Hernandez, and any other border patrol agents or law enforcement officers who have been falsely prosecuted for doing their jobs! This is a despicable injustice that has taken place, and I pray that the ones who are responsible get what is coming to them!

God Bless all of you, and remember that the majority of decent American citizens are on your side, and are demanding that justice be done.

Jose; words can not express the appreciation I feel in your choice to become an officer of the law. It takes a special person to do that.

Words can not express the complete OUTRAGE I feel that you and Nacho and others have been or are sitting in a jail cell, while aldrete-davilia AND OTHERS LIKE HIM are walking free.

To see the people who prosecuted and lied  and /or did not tell the whole truth walking around free bothers me. I for one think they should be put on trial and every last lie exposed to the nation. They should be put in prison.

This piece of garbage aldrete-davila should be in jail, yet he is free and sueing for five million dollars.

This 5 million should be divided up between you who are in jail for doing your job and even then it will not give you back all you have lost.

Border Patrol agents are STILL COMING UNDER FIRE FOR DOING THEIR JOBS. What in the world is going on here ? A lot of behind the scenes treachery.

There are millions of people who support you and Nacho and we will not be silenced

I DEMAND A IMMEDIATE FULL PRESIDENTIAL PARDON FOR YOU BOTH

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN JESUS PRECIOUS NAME.

                                                                         VICKI

So Sorry to hear of so many injustices being done inside and outside the law! There are many who want what is right and fair in this country.  15 + Years ago I prayed to God for His perfect (not just His permissive) will. I got on my motorcycle after working (2nd shift security in L. A. California) & witnessed a crime, chased the criminal , got shot. This hurt my feelings way more than the total abdominal surgery, as paramedic school was going to start after the weekend & I was already very involved with inner city lay ministry.  I thought God could have said NO in a nicer way. I had to learn to draw toward Him even when there is no way I can understand what's going on.  (As Scripture says: Let not the root of bitterness choke the word of God from your heart).  Of course no one told me to chase the criminal (Some of still care to get involved in doing right even with out getting payed). But when you are a public servant with a duty to act, it sure would be nice to trust those your are protecting.   As the Bible says: The love of money is the root of all evil. The devil doesn't want to give up on hindering those who are willing to stand. Just look what God allowed them to do to  Jesus (the only perfect one). They meant it for evil but God worked it for our eternal good.Just today I heard (while praying with my wife) a verse in proverbs came to mind "trust in the Lord with all thy heart & lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him & He will direct your path". Christians are directed to comfort others with the comfort we have been comforted. Our prayers are with you all!
