My 2 cents worth. I don't believe that Mr. Giuliani was wrong in his statement but the interpretation may be easily perverted. I believe Mr. Giuliani is a truly compassionat individual who understands the plight of these people who are immigrating from Mexico. lets face it... if I were from that country I would be trying my best to find a better solution, especially if I had a family. That being said, I am in agreement with what I believe is the vast majority consensus of my fellow Americans that these people should be doing it the right way. Mr. Guiliani also stated, "And let them pay taxes" which I think shows he wants these people to show the responsibility expected of them as "hopefull" citizens of the United States. Was he promoting "amnesty" I sincerley hope not and don't personally believe he was... my interpretation could be wrong as well as anyone elses because who can trully know whats in a man's mind and heart... all I am saying is from what I know of the man and considering what he has been through in the town he obviously loves and takes a lot of personal interest in, I would find it very hard to believe that he is willing to let these people not show any accountability for their illegal status in this country.

What is the solution to this issue. Simple. Stronger penalties on those that hire the aliens, help smuggle them in and the aliens themselves and make all parties enforce those laws. Get the laws passed and in place and send out the word that those still in this country have so much time to get out of the US and then they can start the proper process for citizenship or else. I love being in a country known for its compassion and our "nice guy" reputation... but when people start takeing advantage of that and use it against us... its time to take back control and set up a new perspective. We are the worlds philanthropists yet while countries hold out one hand for the money they consistently flip us the bird with the other hand. We have become the worlds door mat and I for one am tired of it.

I believe that Tom Tancredo is the man for the job. He didn't dilly dally around when he was talked to after the debate and was absolutley up front about Ramos and Compean. The border issue and he Will stop Illegal Immigration and provide a good sound National Foreign Affairs Program. Also, taxes.

Being said that....I wish he would have the people's vote, but I am afraid he must get on the road right away and make his presence much more known. This was a good start for him. Unfortunatley, the debate was too fast. Too many people running. I would like to see what happens in the future. We certainly need to push this border issue back for now. He will not have a chance if GWB has anything to say about it. That there is the catch all. I want to see Tancredo in Office...Period!!!

Although some are saying the campaigning is starting too early, I for one say this is giving us plenty of time to analyze the candidates and not be forced to make last minute decisions based upon sometimes hasty judgements. There are only two or three, in my opinion, who made the cut last night (May 3rd)in the non debate. Wait until the real debates begin and the picture can change. In the meantime, hang in there, all you patriots, the fun is just beginning.

The issue of illegal immigration has little to do with the people who commit it, it has everything to do with the sanctity, reverence and integrity of the rule of law. There isn't one person calling for closed borders and deportation who desires this out of hatred for migrants. They are simply demanding that our laws be respected and enforced.

This is the most compassionate and desirable nation in the world, this is proven by the massive numbers of illegals flooding into this country. However, ours is a nation of laws. It is offensive enough that our laws seem to lack teeth with certain segments of the naturalized citizenry. What are laws if they are so easily cast aside?

We hear so much about the war on terror yet nothing is done about porous agape borders. This is an inivitation to a future terrorist attack within our borders. Illegal immigration is affecting the cost of health care in this nation. It is affecting the standard of living in this country by sowly eroding the middle class by virtue of an abundant low wage workforce.

I feel that the Republican candidates were not forthright about their positions on illegal immigration. Historically the mantra for Republicans has been what is good for business is good for the Republican Party. Guest worker programs are good for business because illegal migrants work for low wages, they get health care through social programs eliminating the cost by the employer, they don't pay taxes making payroll extremely easy, they work as long as the boss tells them to because they have no one to go to about unfair labor practices, they have no expectaitions of a secure retirement making employer costs for pensions and other retirement accounts minimal.

Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave at where the Republican Party is with respect to spending, individual freedoms in this country, trade, and the size of government. I certainly hope these candidates embrace the moral and ethical high ground on the issue of ILLEGAL immigration.

I am for everyone paying taxes, however, when they come over here and take our jobs it is not funny. I have changed my field of work on several occasions because of this...now they are standing up wanting to make what we "used" to make doing the same job...anyone that says they are doing jobs that we do not want are just plain ignorant !!!!! When you are looking for work you will take what is out there and you do not quibble about how hard, dirty or little it pays. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. They will whistle a different tune when there are more Mexicans here and they can vote very very powerfully with all the children they breed. nuff said...again stupidity is rampant in America.......our people died for this country and they "the Mexicans thumb their noses at us by flying their flags at the top and our "Old Glory" underneath and upside down...

IF our government wanted this illegal invasion of American soil by these illegal aliens, it COULD be brought to a halt. Obviously they do not want to stop it or, for that matter, slow it down. This is quite evident by the answers/excuses as to why it cannot be done. We have American soldiers, posted all over this world, doing very much the same thing for other countries and other interests. YET, we are so apathetic and gullible that they really think that we will accept their silly excuses. And many do! There are two very simple reasons for this to be happening: 1. The ones making the profit are not the ones footing the physical and financial bill. 2. Our government is not serving the best interest of America or its citizens but, the interests of outside financial elite leaders who are seeking the establishment of a One World Order, by means of the up and coming North American Union. THIS will be the demise of America, as we know it. No more soveriegnty and our rights and freedoms will go up in smoke. Then the class seperation will become stronger and a return to "basic" slavery will become the "new ideal". Simple .... it is called "History repeats itself". One huge third world country .... the rulers and the ruled.

I didn;t have a chance top hear the (debate) from what I see here none had a verry good plan on securing the border, I agree with building a strong fense and shoot anyone who comes over it, send the illegals back to where they  came from and then if they want to come back let them do it legally, after all  nearlly all of our ansesters came from some where else, BUT they did it the right way. as far as an idenity card, if they are legal their sosical security card and driver license with picture on it  is all they need, a new ID card is just some more hokey pokey to put up with.

I thought that Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul made the best impressions.  Last night the polls at MSNBC gave Ron Paul the highest rating on their polls at 41%.  He beat them all!  I like his no nonsense way of thinking...

Neveron, We do not need new laws. The laws are already on the books. It is just as Tom Tancredo says: Enforce the law. I do not think it is compassionate for the illegals nor for the tax paying citizens of this country for the illegals to come to this country, get on welfare, demand that their crimes be ignored, and demand many other kinds of special treatment. That is exactly what it happening now. Neveron, I know what is going on with the illegals. I live next door to a house full of them. I fully and completely support Tom Tancredo and will until he becomes President of the United States.

A government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have. *************************************************************************************** Free Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean!

Tancredo was strong. Cudos to him for wanting to pardon Border Agents THAT DID THEIR JOB TO PROTECT THE COUNTRY. Guiliani - let them pay taxes. Thank you Marie Antoinette! What kind of a frickin' response is that? Go back to NYC, you moron! I am from the Empire State (I live in Washington, DC, i.e., the Pitt), but I am ashamed at the shear stupidity of the residents of my former home state. I don't know about you all, (sarcasm alert) I really LOVE the idea of yet ANOTHER form of I.D. Just like I LOVE new laws being written because old ones are not enforced. If these "big brothers" keep this up, we'll have to face taking the number of the beast in a decade or less. Go Paul and go Tancredo! Down with McCain and Goon-iani. MCCain wouldn't want anti-illegal immigration Tancredo at the head of INS? How INTER-esting! Mr. McCain, is it the job of INS to keep illegal immigrants inside or outside of a country from which they do NOT originate? Another moron heard from! Johnny. Oh JOH-nny! You want someone who wants to keep illegal immigrants OUT of the U.S. at the head of INS. And get up-to-date. INS is now USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). http://www.usdoj.gov/ins/ is a redirection web page. I wonder when they will have "instant citizenship" terminals installed on the border so people can walk up and get all the legal documentation they'll need to live the good life in the U.S. . . But then, what will they do with us?

Neveron, You have said pretty much what i believe. I ask, What is it about the word illigal people dont understand? I watched TV a couple weeks ago and saw a boat load of starving and dehydrated people turned back from entering our country because we didn't want them. We have thousands of emmergrants from Mexico coming into the country and we welcome them? They are overloading our medical system, they are given free Social Security payments, they are adding to our overloaded crime problems, what the hell is wrong with this country?

President Bush sold us out in 2004 when he signed a secret pact with Mexico to allow illegals immigrants to draw on our social security; something they have never paid into.  If you check the Congressional votes on immigration reform during the past 4 years, you will see that Democrats are for amnesty and opening the borders.  The fence is a ploy and financing the building is something that Congress doesn't have to fund.  Deployment of troups along the border was a farce as well.  The continued persecution of our border agents and LEO's in bordering towns is clearly Administration directed to discourage our agents from doing their jobs.  It's a national disgrace.  God help us Mr. Tancredo and Mr. Paul.

I am so glad to say that I did not vote for Bush!  I thought he would make a terrible President and I am so very sad to see what he is doing to this great country.  I do not consider myself a democrate or a republican.  I am somewhere in the middle.  That said.

I will not vote for any party that is for this so called "Amnesty" bill.  I believe to be a citizen of the United States - you need to learn our laws and agree to abide by our laws.  Pay taxes like the rest of us and go to the "back of the line" to become a United States citizen, like every honest immigrant is doing that wants to live in the United States, legally.  These people want the easy way to everything now adays.  These people just want to come here and take over our country, period!  They don't want to have to earn their citizenship.  They just want it handed to them free of charge!   They want to come here and take our jobs and drive down our wages.  Not to mention how they are destroying our healthcare system by over burdening the healthcare system with all the babies they keep on having!  They say they take the jobs that no one else wants.  How do they know what we want.  They haven't walked a mile in my shoes or other poor Americans who are looking for work.   But these illegals are not just going for the low paying jobs.  They are going for factory jobs, food industry jobs, etc. that pay a decent middle class wage.  But these illegals are willing to be paid less, so they get the job.  This is happening all across the US and slow but surely.

To become a United States citizens takes work, hard work.  There is no free pass to citizenship.  Even the people born here have to respect our laws and abide by them or there would be utter chaos!  So many people have no respect for the law or our laws, anymore.

I am just beginning to try and digest all the material on each candidate. It seems a bit early to make a decision. My first choice before the debate was Tancredo. Although he has less glimmer than Romney, he is most dedicated to what I consider the most important domestic problem we have right now--illegal aliens. Duncan Hunter has an excellent track record, is a war hero and appears to have the right stuff. Ron Paul seemed to be convincing in his commitment to defending our rights.

I believe Tom Tancredo came off as the best canidate of the debate. There is only one way to secure the border and that is to secure it. I would put the 1st. Marine Div., augmented by units of the Army as needed on the border and I guarantee no one would sneak acoss the border. Our troops would get the much needed desert training they need in todays world, we would get a secure border. Wanting a better living does not excuse/condone violating our immigration laws by sneaking across the border. If your sneak across the border you are a crimminal, you broke our laws in coming here the way you did. We must secure the border first and then address the illegal immigrantes who are where. If we cut off all aid/work for illegals they would have to self immagrate back to where they come from because they could not live here. No one is against legal immagration, but the illegal must go. We should adopt immigration laws like the mexican gov. has. Obviously our elected officals from the president on down has crawled into bed with big Aig. business without any reguard to our country/people's security and safety. One only has to listen to the daily news to understand how much the illegal has contributed the crime levels in our towns and cities. We must impose harsh penalties for those sneaking across the border and harsher still for the repeat offender. Obviously our politicians do not care about our people, they only care what they precive to be politically beneficical to themselves. Only a vary few of todays politican would dare to stand up against Amenesty in any form and only they deserve our repect and confidence. Words will not suffice, only actions will decide who can be trusted and who is out for self benefit. Shame is the name of today's House of Congress and both politcal parties.

I find it very refreshing to have Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter on our side. It seems that, they are the only ones that can see we are getting over taken. Ramos and Compean are just one more example of good people doing their job. Look what happens!

While Trancredo is a worthy choice he is not as to the point of restoring our Constitution as is Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul minces no words about his belief in the constitution in all matters including immigration. I think he would be a much better and more well rounded President. We need Honesty, Intregity and Morality in our leaders, Congressman Paul embodies all of these qualities. www.grannywarriors.com'

My vote will definitely be weighed heavily on this issue; even more so than Iraq. Any candidate who is namby-pamby about protecting our borders, or about getting those poor guards free, and without a strong attitude opposed to illegal immigration gets crossed off the list *now*. We need to protect OUR OWN country before we try to "save" others.
