Halliburton announced Sunday, it is in talks with the United Arab Emerits to relocate it's facilities from Texas to Dubai in an attempt to capitalize on the booming energy market there. Halliburton's announcement has sparked a 'political firestorm' as top Democrats rush to critisize Haliburton for their move, some claiming Halliburton's move is an attempt to avoid taxes in the US. A spokesperson for Haliburton stated that though they are moving their facilities, they would 'remain Incorporated in America' so there is going to be 'no tax benefit' from the move and there would be no resulting layoffs either. | |||||||||||||||
