Dear Grassfire/FireSociety Team,

Hi, it's me, Patty. I've been wanting to write an update about Jose, but time is always so short.

Many have been asking about the hearings that Congress was planning on holding on behalf of Jose and "Nacho". Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything new about the hearings. The last thing I heard was that they were not going to happen because it was an administrative problem. If I do hear something I'll let you know.

I really wanted to write because I just received a letter from my husband dated 4/9/07. He wrote, and I quote "I started getting some letters from people, I guess they're from Grassfire. It was a lot. It was a good surprise."  He also said that he'd been receiving many, many Easter Cards!

As you can tell you guys caught him off guard and it lifted his spirits! Thank you. He also said that at the time he was writing to me he had not read them yet. "I haven't read them yet. I only read yours and the kids letters."

I'm certain he has read them and has answered some. Knowing Jose, I'm pretty sure he's trying to write everyone back. That's just the kind of person he is. I do want to say that I appreciate all the letters, jokes and articles everyone has been sending to him.

Please keep writing him. He needs to know that he's not being forgotten. I know for a fact that he's enjoying every single one of them.
