DAY 27--

Hi there,

I've been wanting to write to the Grassfire team, and thought this would be the perfect time to let you know that my hubby, Jose is doing fine. In fact, I just got a letter from him today.

He is in Isolation, and has been since he got to Ohio. Even though he is confined to his cell for 23 or 24 hours, he has no complaints--other than he can only call us once per month. He is doing a lot of reading to keep him busy, and I am happy to report he hasn't lost his sense of humor. This really boosted my spirits!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Grassfire team on his behalf and the behalf of our family! Thank you for everything everyone is doing and for fighting along with us. Please keep fighting until justice is truly served.

Again, thank you Grassfire team for your prayers, support and generosity. It means so much to our family.

Patty Compean

I really hope the petetions we send help bring your husband home. I find it so unfair that he is in prison . All he was doing was his job. you both are in my prayers .

I am trying to organize a rally in Yazoo City, MS where "Nacho" Ramos was assaulted at the Federal Prison. I am just getting started as of today actually, I have emailed Tim Bueler of the Minuteman Project with the idea, and will make calls to Yazoo City to find out about permits, fees and fairground availability. I want this to be HUGE. Of course the sooner the better, but if anyone thinks a particular weekend would be better than another please let me know. Of course a three-day weekend would work best for those traveling long distance, I just hate to think of these guys still in prison on Memorial Day. Please reply so I can get an idea of the interest in this. I just hope Patty and Monica realize people are making calls to congressmen, senators and other public officials every day on their behalf. We will get them released!
