My husband, "Nacho", has little to do all day other than gain strength from reading his Bible and communicating with friends via letters. He has received so many uplifting messages, prayers, jokes and stories from Grassfire team members. This letter is for all of you who have written to my husband. Thank you for standing with him. He loves you for it.

Dear Mr. Elliott,

I would like to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to you and the Grassfire organization for your continued support and efforts in keeping the case of Mr. Compean and myself in the public eye. Along with your timeless efforts on the internet, you have been able to stretch out throughout the United States via radio and television informing even more Americans of the travesty that our families have been going through for almost 2 ½ years now.

Along with your organizations support, I would like to thank each individual Grassfire team member that has recently taken the time to write me. It was very heartwarming to receive so many letters recently. Some vented frustration, some sent jokes, some told funny stories; all were inspirational and motivating. They definitely help keep things in perspective. Even for those who haven’t written I want to thank you for signing the petition and for the continued support you have shown Mr. Compean and me, and I hope you can convince others to sign the petition as well.

Mr. Elliott, I would also like to thank you, your organization and all your team members for helping my family with your most generous donation. You were a Godsend. It went a long way to pay for my attorney to start my appeal and help my wife very much who has done such a great job doing it on her own and still finding the time to go out and fight for me. I am so proud of her. I can only say that I am a very lucky man to be blessed with a woman like her to be standing by me.

I also cannot adequately express in words how it makes me feel to know that I, that we, have so many supporters throughout the United States only to say that it is incredulous.

Lastly, I would just like to say that I pray every day for this ordeal to be over soon for Mr. Compean, Mr. Hernandez and myself and I know it will be done in His time. In almost all my letters there is almost always different scriptures written in them, others just telling me to pray or just to simply read the Bible. I love every single one of them. I agree and appreciate them all. And I truly believe if it weren’t for God, I, we, would not have all of this support. However, I think one of my favorite ones that I have read and I truly believe will carry us through this it this:

“If God be with us, then who be against us.”

For not even all those against us are greater than Him.

Thank you again Mr. Elliott, to Grassfire, and all team members and we’ll await the final day to this ordeal.

Sincerely,
Ignacio Ramos

I'm a 40-year veteran in federal-level security and law enforcement.  As such, I feel a great kinship with the border agents and other law enforcement officers who have been so badly treated.  My web site has a news service which has carried the stories as they have unfolded.  I'm so sad to see the President I have so strongly supported for most of his term simply ignoring the injustice that has been done by his own people to his own people.  My prayers, and those of my family and friends, and of my church, are with you and the others currently in prison, and with the two others, less publicized, who have "served their time" and been released and are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives.

May God bless you for your dedication and protect you from further harm.  Please know that you are not, and will not be, forgotten, and we will not give up the fight.
