Hi there! I just returned from a planning meeting for a huge bike rally here in El Paso, Texas, on February the 18th benefiting both my husband, Ignacio and Mr. Compean.
Right now he is not fully processed so he can't make a phone call for about another two weeks. Thankfully, one counselor let him make one call to me and sent me the forms to organize a visitation as soon as possible. He didn't sound very good to me. He told me that inmates keep approaching him asking who he is and what he's in for. Most concerning to me is that most of these inmates are Spanish speaking with immigration issues and some are even in for drug possessions! During our brief conversation, he just asked me to please do all I can to get him to a safer place. My husband is a very calm man, and I'm sure he downplayed his fears so as not to scare me, but for him to ask me to do something like that means something is wrong. I want to thank the Grassfire team for all you have done and continue to do! You are angels to my family and the Compean's as well. Please keep fighting for my husband and Mr. Compean. We are their voices. I miss him SOOOOO, much and my kids are struggling so. In fact, they will start counseling next week. I will try my best to keep you all up on what is happening. Keep it up ....We can't thank you enough. Monica
