Wednesday, November 22, 2006, a company manufacturing slovents and inks had two explosions that were so intense they obliterated the building and knocked 20 homes off their foundations in the surrounding neighborhood!!!90 homes were damaged with 25 of those beyond repair. 25 families won't be able to move back in.

The explosions were heard 20 miles away and only 10 people were injured. But 300 were scared and the whole nation, or maybe it's just me, ponders, "Was it terrorists?" I'll wait for the investigation to voice another opinion but we all know how these investigations go. If it was linked to terrorists, We, the People will be the last to know. "They" won't want a wide spread panic. HOUSES WERE BLOWN OFF THEIR FOUNDATIONS. (I've heard nothing since I wrote this column last year for Yourhub.com)

The "Catsup Count" showed up to voice his analysis and Kerry said it looked like an urban bomb went off. That begs the question, "What is an urban bomb?" How is it different from any other bomb?

The chemical plant was empty at the time of the explosion. WHO was there BEFORE  the explosion? Who could have set "the bomb" that caused this? Some sort of spark or flame caused the accellerants to catch fire. Inks and chemicals don't blow up by them selves. An accident? Maybe. Maybe not. It's at least possible that terrorists were involved.

The explosion was heard at 2:50 am. Use your common sense and logic. Chemicals and ink will burn if ignited. They don't EXPLODE by themselves. The chemicals were stored in huge vats. How come there were only two explosions? Every vat should have exploded if one exploded!! Very easy to set a bomb and detonate it with a cell phone call.

According to an OSHA rep. the plant had an impeccable safety record and passed all inspections it had to go through with no violations or safety issues, EVER, EVER, EVER!!! Major security upgrades were performed on the plant in 2001.(Note: Chemical plants are on the terrorist target list per the 9/11 investigations)

The Davenport neighborhood along the river is among the oldest in town. Danvers is one of the oldest cities in America, dating back to the 1700's. Alot of relics and antiques. Terrorists want to take that all away from us. They want to destroy anything that means something to it's enemy such as The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Washington, D.C., and all it's monuments, The Alamo, The Boulder Dam, to mention a few. It's a terrorist tactic.

Listen to this farcical statement. Mike Nalipinski, on the scene co-ordinator for the EPA, said, "Prelimenary tests showed low levels of toluene, a solvent, but nothing of significance." It was an explosion the likes of a 2000 pound bomb, Mike!!! The initial shock-wave blew houses off their foundations!!! "Suit-case Nukes" have that power at the smaller end of the spectrum and over 4000 at the higher end of the spectrum.

There will be low levels of everything at the site where the plant once was. It was disinegrated!!! Blown to smitherines!!! Totally destroyed. And, oh by the way, a solvent doesn't just explode. It needs extreme, intense heat.

I'll be interested to see the outcome of this investigation. Probably won't be a follow up story. Just some short blurb on the news. We'll see what lame excuse "they" come up with. Terrorists? It's at least a possiblity.

As of this post nothing has been reported  almost a year later. What if...huh?

Osha, doesn't do their job! I'm in Arizona and we have a huge problem with Air Conditioning Companies that let R-22 Freon into the Air!! That is a Federal Law that doesn't get any support from Osha or the EPA. Why? Because their are only a handfull of EPA an OSHA offices in our Country! The nearest one to us is San Francisco, Ca. They won't come over here unless they get multiple letters to demand they investigate! I know this is a bit off subject from your blog. But, there is a simliar concern! Our Air quality is very poor,,,,gee, I wonder why? Not one A/C company has anyone to answer to! Arizona's Big Wigs don't give a crap. All they have to do is ask for funding to get an EPA / OSHA office out here! I guess going green here is not a priority. As is with all the other States that do not have an EPA or even an OSHA office in their State. Sad, but true. Arizona is CONTRIBUTING to Global Warming! I plan on making plenty of noise around here before I can't breathe anymore! Boston, Mass happens to be one of the ten places that have the OSHA in their state. Maybe they can help. The other places the OSHA has offices are: Boston (617) 565-3860 New York (617) 565-3860 Philadelphia (215) 861-4900 Atlanta (404) 562-2300 Chicago (312) 353-2220 Dallas (972) 850-4145 Kansas City (816) 283-8745 Denver (720) 264-6550 San Francisco (415) 625-2547 Seattle (206) 553-5930 I agree with you - These so-called places that are supposed to protect the public only have their own interests in mind. They could care less about the American people. They sit on their butts and collect a nice hefty paycheck, that is all they are concerned with. It's so OBVIOUS!!!!!! Makes me sick, literally.
