United Nations: Kill Babies to Cool Down the Planet

The United Nations is at it again! Hide your kids!

In another attempt to lay a guilt trip on the United States for not signing Kyoto, a UN report will soon tell us that developing nations such as China and India are reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than Kyoto Protocol standards. The implication of course is that if China can do it, then why not the USA and Western Europe? Once again, it's America's fault!

The UN report is an outright fabrication, even preposterous! But even more shocking is how the UN and China say they've accomplished this great feat.

The fact is, China is awash in unregulated pollution. The respected journal, Geophysical Research Letters, recently reported that air pollution is out of contorl in China. "Antiquated factories billow smoke, many residents still use coal to heat their centuries-old houses, and a sharp increase in car ownership has bathed the motorways in exhaust fumes," the report concluded. USA Today recently wrote that outside of Beijing, local chemical factories dump wastewater directly into the Feng Chan river, which is now black as ink. Nearby canals are so discolored, locals call it xiao hong he, or "little red river."

Do you want to see if for yourself? NASA images trace the Asian plume as it propagates out over the Pacific Ocean all the way to the West coast of the United States! See it with your own eyes: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/natural_hazards_v2.php3?img_id=5378

What makes the UN draft report even more outrageous is the manner in which China claims to have reduced emissions. Hu Tao of China's State Environmental Protection Administration proclaimed at a conference in Oslo last month that China "is doing a lot" to control emissions by enforcing it's one-child policy. The less kids, the less pollution. Is this what's next for Kyoto? Save the earth: Kill babies!

Human rights organizations, including the left-leaning Amnesty International, say that China enforces it's one-child policy through bribery, infanticide, selective-sex abortions, and even forced abortions. Gao Xian Duan, former Chinese population control administrator, testified before a US House subcommittee in 1998 regarding her participation in nationwide forced sterlizations and abortions. http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/asiapcf/9806/11/china.abortion/

This is one more reason the United States should not only abandon any attempt to sign on to Kyoto, which puts the cost of controlling emissions in the hands of America, but to abandon the UN altogether. What's a cooler earth worth when babies are slaughtered anyway? Indeed the polar bears will not only live long and prosper, but they'll have the earth to their own.

A Tsunami of Lies from Time Magazine

Being relatively new to the blogosphere, I anticipated my job here would be hard work and time-consuming. But I'm finding that the irresponsibility of the mainstream media makes my job quite easy. I am starting to feel like a contestant on the new Jeff Foxworthy game show, "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?"

This week Time Magazine gets an "F" in scientific journalism - and a big heartfelt thanks from me for making my job as a blogger so easy! Read on...

In a recent Time cover story article (April 16) entitled "It's Hip to Be Green," Time correspondent Anna Kuchment proclaims that young people have "woken up the the realities of global warming." She cites a recent survey that says a majority of teens believe we need to take "immediate, drastic" action. She goes on to say that this generation is the first to feel the effects of climate change so dramatically because of freakish weather patterns and tragedies like the "Christmas 2004 tsumani." She writes that what scares kids the most are "horrible TV images of bad weather like....the tsuanmi."

Anna Kuchmant, are you smarter than a 5th grader? What about your boss, Time's Managing Editor, Richard Stengel? Did he pass Elementary school science?

Wikipedia describes a tsunami as "a series of waves created when a body of water, such as an ocean is rapidly displaced on a massive scale by an earthquake, volcano, or meteorite." In other words, a tsunami is created underground, not in mid-air. It's not a weather-related phenomenon. Of course I knew this. And of course the deadly Christmas 2004 tsunami was caused by the second largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. The flooding was the result of a giant wave, not a melting iceberg!

This is irresponsible journalism, and an example of why bloggers are fast replacing traditional journalists as fact-finders and exposers of the truth. Either the writers at Time really believe the giant Indonesian ocean wave was somehow caused by climate change, or they simply scattered this lie throughout the article to induce young people into political activism.

If the former is true, shame on Time for missing a fact most of us learned by the 5th grade: Climate is a meterological condition, while an earthquake is a geological condition. If the latter is true, well then the people at Time are not a journalists at all. They are not purvayers of the truth, but political propagandists.

No wonder our kids want "immediate" action on global warming. What's next, school shootings caused by orphaned polar bears?

Global Warming Deaths On the Rise?

Global Warming Deaths on the Rise! When I read this headline yesterday, my first reaction was that it might be a spoof. An attention grabber or an overdue April fool’s Day joke. Surely they are not already claiming large scale death due to alleged warming climates. I thought that was on the table for the next generation, like for my children. Are people already dying?! This must be a shaggy dog story.

But then I read on….

“About 160,000 people die every year from side effects of global warming ranging from malaria to malnutrition, a group of WHO scientists said Tuesday. What’s more, they projected the “disease burden caused by climate change could almost double by 2020.”

160,000 deaths year, huh? Every year? Which year? Who was the first guy to die? And wow, how many years has THIS been occurring?!

You can see where I am taking this. This is exactly the kind of “study” that makes for big headlines. Death and destruction on the rise, backed by credible science. It’s enough to make me run for cover under the Kyote treaty. Or so they’d hope.

WHO is at it once again. They are spreading junk science in the form of a press release. How did WHO make this calculation? Patrick J. Michaels from the CATO Institute sheds some light on it: http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=5225. Michaels explains how many of these “global warming deaths” occurred in Europe in 2003 when France and neighboring countries shut down in August to vacation. Hospitals were understaffed and broken air conditioners went unfixed. In France alone, 15,000 senior citizens died from neglect, not global warming! These people might have lived if they turned up the fossil fuels a tad and cooled it down.

The people at WHO also included death by tornado, hurricane, flood, and climate related disease. But it makes you wonder how many weather-related deaths would occur annually even at temperatures in, for example, 1990? The Great Hurricane of 1780 killed 20,000 people in the Caribbean. Did that count? And aren’t there many other factors to consider? Surely lots of people died of heat stroke in pre-air conditioning days. It seems possible, even likely, that the advent of air conditioners have substantially reduced death due to weather.

Maybe WHO should converse with the folks at the American Journal of Epidemiology who recently documented that in “hot weather, the death rate for persons who had central air-conditioning was 42 percent lower than the rate for persons who did not have air-conditioning, after confounding variables had been controlled for…” http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/136/1/106

I wonder how many lives would be saved in Africa is we could simply send them more air conditioners.
