[article image] Right after I learned the Senate killed the earmark moratorium I really didn’t know what to do. In fact, for a brief moment, I felt a bit defeated.

That was until I discovered that right after the late-night vote, many of these same Senators raced out of town--no doubt to avoid an angry grassroots backlash and to get an early jump
on their Easter recess!

That’s when the idea hit me …

Why not take our outrage DIRECTLY to their district offices!

That’s right, these 71 pork-loving Senators can run, but they can’t hide!

Over the next two weeks, I want to deluge the district
offices for EVERY Senator who voted against the
Earmark Moratorium with personalized faxes that
expresses our anger and underscores our commitment
to end the culture of corruption that seems to a way of
life in Washington.

to see the targets and read the faxes.

We have a tremendous opportunity staring right at us. With the presidential candidates in agreement that the current earmarking system doesn’t work, the stage is set.

We just need to intensify our message and make it clear to all that we do indeed want change. We can do that through Grassfire’s Fax-fire initiative to the district offices of each of the 71 “pork-barrel” Senators. Click here to schedule your faxes.

Suddenly, I no longer feel defeated.

In fact, I’m literally bursting with confidence because I know the strength and commitment of our team. I’ve seen how Grassfire team members overwhelmingly respond when the alarm sounds!

Those “pork-barrel” Senators don’t know what they are up against!

Whether you choose the convenience of our personalized fax-fire system or not, please take immediate action. We’ve made all of the targets and letters available to you simply by clicking here.

I don’t want ANY of these “pork-barrel” Senators to enjoy a carefree Easter recess. Instead, I want them to feel the heat of grassroots Americans right down to their district offices!

Click here and help me overwhelm them on our way to bringing about REAL change to Capitol Hill.

As always, thank you for your incredible support.

Steve

Yes, they are out of their comfort zone without their combined backbone (what I mean is there are very few of our "representatives" left that have their own individual backbone).

It occurs to me we could get by with just one or two representatives for the whole country. They all seem to vote party line or just phone in their vote. No productive nor counter-productive discussions seem to take place. Whatever happened to the filibuster? Reducing the number in congress would save us millions of dollars from our "budget". Or is it budge-yet as in "did they budge yet?"

Along with our faxes, perhaps we can mail a copy of our grocery receipts, showing the cost of each item we purchase as I don't believe they even know what a loaf of bread or dozen eggs costs nowadays. Imagine their desks loaded down with faxes and grocery receipts! What a pleasant picture.

I regret that I cannot add my name to the list of FireSociety people who are opposed to the earmarks that are devistatin our country.  To do so would imply that i agree with the FireSociety endosement of the FairTax SCHEME as espoused by boorst/Simpson(as in Homer Simpson)

The Fire Society endorsed a tax program that will tax away obout one third of my savings that have already been taxed by the current income tax system.  Even the FairTax SCHEME proponent boorst/Simpson acknowledges in his book that the savers are not treated equally.

STOP the FairTax SCHEME

The FairTax SCHEME is a Plan to eliminate the IRS and substitute a 23-34% consumption tax on all new sales. The problem is that nearly all savings except some IRAs has already been taxed by the income tax system when earned  and this additional point of sale consumption tax would tax these savings a second time at the 23-34% tax rate. That would devastate the savings of nearly all retirees. This is admitted by boortz on page 169 of the book explaining the FairTax SCHEME. boortz/Simpson (as in Homer Simpson) offers no solution to this double taxation. but does basially say to the retiree spending his pretaxed savings "Tough $hit, you will just have to suffer for the benefit of the others."
