Grassfire Fax initiative to Pardon Border Agents exceeds 70,000 faxes!

For more than three months H.R. 563 -- legislation calling for the pardon of former U.S. Border Agents Jose Compean (pictured here with his wife and Grassfire petitions prior to his incarceration) and “Nacho” Ramos -- has been sitting idly in various committees. With the President stonewalling on the issue, we saw this bill as the next best opportunity to create a pressure point to free agents Ramos and Compean.

Days ago, Grassfire launched a nationwide fax campaign to rally more co-sponsors of this bill. Other groups also took action, including the "Hold Their Feet To The Fire" efforts this past week in D.C. It seems grassroots pressure is working.

96 Co-Sponsors!
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) has become the 96th co-sponsor of HR 563 -- a House bill to pardon agents Ramos and Compean. Nunes joined the effort as a result of intense grassroots pressure to free Ramos and Compean.

Grassfire's Capital contact has identified a number of key House targets who are feeling intense pressure to support such a measure. We are now rallying citizens to flood these offices -- along with their senators and Representative -- with faxes urging these leaders to co-sponsor the bill to pardon agents Ramos and Compean.

Go here to send your faxes.

With your help, I believe we can mount a massive push to motivate these key members of the House to co-sponsor and support the bill pardoning agents Ramos and Compean.

Is it just irony that both of these agents are of Hispanic Mexican decent?
