One vote upholds the President's veto!

The Senate yesterday passed the Reid-Harkin Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (S. 5) 63-34.  The 34 Senate votes are enough to uphold the President’s promised veto.

Senator Brownback applauded the many dedicated citizens who called their Senators urging them not to support federal tax dollars to sanction the destruction of nascent human life.

Hope Act passes

Not to be lost is the overwhelming passage of the Coleman-Isakson HOPE Act (S.30) 70-28. The HOPE Act seeks to intensify research to derive adult stem cell lines. It is both an ethical and clinically superior alternative to using taxpayer dollars to fund the human embryonic stem cell research.  Thank you again for answering our call to action for the unborn. Yesterday, Ron De Jong called several Senate offices and they confirmed that many of the calls they received were from Grassfire team members!

Interesting to see that both Senators Clinton and Obama are FOR embryonic stell cell research, but AGAINST adult stem cell research.  If they really were for advancing science - along with many other democrats - they would vote YES on both.  But we know that's not the real issue, so their votes speak for themselves.  Christian voters take note.

I am very happy...and surprised...to see that both of my senators, Boxer and Feinstein, voted no on this bill! Miracles are still happening!!
