Obama the elitist... classic liberal.... Marxist?
Barack Obama, who has not yet been able to escape the stain of Pastor Jeremiah Wright, is going to have a difficult time escaping the label of "elitist" as his April 6 comments at a San Francisco fundraiser continue to be exposed. For the record, here is the quote that is being discussed:

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Here's the context. A person in the audience, who was going to travel to Pennsylvania to help the Obama campaign, asked Obama what "kinds of questions" should they expect to get. Obama interpreted the questioner as asking how could a person from San Francisco be prepared for the kind of people they might meet in Pennsylvania.

Go here for Obama's response which includes this quote above (about four minutes)

Go here for the full audio of the speech (Obama's response to the question begins at 32:20; the quote above begins at 35:20)

Classic liberal... or worse?
Combined with how Obama responded to the Wright controversy, it is now crystal clear that Barack is not a movement -- he is a classic liberal elitist politician who is marching steadily toward the White House. As National Review's Rich Lowry said, "The assumption is that only liberal attitudes are normal and well-adjusted: If only these small-town people could earn more income, get an advanced degree, and move to a major metropolitan area, then they could shed their chrysalis of social conservatism." For a really good analysis of how Obama's ideas represent classic liberalism, read George Will.

But is it evern worse? Bill Kristol says Obama is revealing himself as a Marxist, referencing Marx's famous line: "Religion... is the opiate of the masses." And Sen. Joe Liebermann says asking if Obama represents Marxist ideas is a legitimate question (transcript and audio).

Toward a Real Border Fence
On Thursday, Ron De Jong and I will be taking nearly 200,000 petitions to a press event on Capitol Hill with Rep. Walter Jones in support of Rep. Jones' bill to reinstate the Secure Fence Act. Congress, in a typical legislataive slight of hand late last year, gutted the funding and authorization for the Secure Fence Act. Now, DHS has full discretion over if and where to actually build a fence -- and the double-layer mandate is totally removed. Plus, DHS's authorization expires at the end of this year -- very convenient for any of the three amnesty presidential candidates who will start their administration with no legal mandate to build any more fencing.

If you have not yet signed that peition, please go here. We need your petition today to have it included in the delivery.

What is Al Gore's big secret?
Just learned that Al Gore -- who is paid about $100,000 per speaking engagement -- has as a standard part of his contract a ban on media attendance at his speeches. One wonders what part of Al Gore's climate alarmism that he does not what to be exposed to the Fourth Estate? Perhaps that fact that Al Gore is getting very rich off of his crusade to promote climate alarmism. NewsBusters reports that Gore is even promoting his own Green investment portfolio, encouraging those listening to his speeches to consider investing in green companies that Gore himself has a stake in.

Also, we're bracing for a major announcement from the Bush Administration supporting the Al Gore thesis and pressing for legislation to solve the alleged Climate Crisis. Grassfire will be launching a major campaign to expose Al Gore's fraud and oppose the $1.2 trillion Al Gore Tax Congress will be voting on in early June. Stay tuned.

Please do not use the words “classic” or “classical” in front of the word liberal to describe a Democrat.

If you’ll look up the words Classical Liberalism

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classica...

you’ll  find classical liberals are many times more conservative than Republicans and have their heads screwed on tighter than Libertarians. The practice of using the word “liberal” to describe Democrats is a crime. Today’s Democrats are not liberals. They may be socialists, communists, anti-America wing nuts but they are not “liberals”.

Billgow's interpretation may/may not be so. Hopefully, it is. However, the "facts" as presented on any subject by wikipedia are the judgements of contributors to that site, and can be modified at will.
