#1--Amnesty bills back after Labor Day. Like those dreaded villains in the Terminator movies, it looks like the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill is coming back after Labor Day -- this time in sections that the amnesty Congressmen think they can sneak by us. We are closely watching two bills: the AG Jobs bill that would give amnesty to millions of illegals in agriculture; and the so-called "Dream Act" that is really an "Anchor Child" program giving amnesty to over a million illegals under 18. Grassfire will be spearheading efforts to defeat these amnesty bills while we expand our "Where's The Fence?" campaign. #2--Will our government stop illegal alien Social Security fraud? Last week I mentioned that the open borders activists may be getting nervous that the government might actually build the fence and secure the borders. Well, they're probably getting even more nervous after reading a New York Times article saying DHS and the Social Security Administration are going to finally crack down on illegals using bogus SSNs for employment:
In a new effort to crack down on illegal immigrants, federal authorities are expected to announce tough rules this week that would require employers to fire workers who use false Social Security numbers. Officials said the rules would be backed up by stepped-up raids on workplaces across the country that employ illegal immigrants.
This is potentially good news. I say "potentially" because we have heard lots of talk from this Administration on border security and not much action. Apparently, DHS was waiting to see what was going to happen to the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill before any real crackdown, which kind of shoots holes in the theory that the Amnesty Gang was ever interested in enforcing the law. #3--Bush-Mexico summit on North American "Framework" On August 20-21, President Bush will join Mexican President Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Harper for the second Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summit. The SPP is what many believe to be the beginnings of the infrastructure for the North American Union. Grassfire has been following this developing story for months and we just launched a national petition opposing any efforts to build a North American "framework" that undermines our nation's sovereignty.
For a complete briefing, go here. To sign the petition, go here.
#4-- Jerome Corsi Interview Of course, the President denies that these SPP meetings have anything to do with a North American "framework." They even say the SPP is simply a "dialogue" and not an agreement. But that's because if they admitted it was an agreement, then they would be subject to Congressional oversight. New York Times bestselling author Jerome Corsi agreed to record a special interview "briefing" on the NAU for our Grassfire team members. Go here to listen to that interview. #5--Is the Earth really warming? (Part 2) As promised, here is Part Two of my interview with Congressional Staffer Marc Morano following his recent trip to Greenland as part of a Congressional fact-finding tour. In this interview, Marc and I get to the fundamendals of the issue: Is the earth warming? Is CO2 the primary cause? What can we do about it? With Congress getting ready to consider a huge Carbon Tax bill that could cost the average American family over $4,500, this is important information: To listen to part 1 of the interview, click here. #6--Grassfire Podcasts Through ITunes By the way, if you use ITunes, you can get immediate access to all of our latest audio reports and interviews.
