#1- Woman Unknowingly Ingests RU 486 - Man Charged with Homicide
Manishkumar M. Patel was arrested by authorities and accused of slipping his girlfriend the abortion pill RU-486.  The woman miscarried on two separate occasions, requesting a blood test after suspecting she had unknowingly ingested mifepristone.  After testing positive for the abortion drug she alerted the sheriff's department, who arrested Patel on November 28.  The woman is unsure of when or how she may have ingested the abortion pill, but according to Fox News officials expect charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child to be filed.  Full Story

#2- Planned Parenthood Denies Botched Abortion in Malpractice Lawsuit
A woman who underwent an emergency hysterectomy due to complications from an abortion procedure has filed a lawsuit against the abortion provider Planned Parenthood.  Allegations stem from a perforated uterus from an abortion she received on August 17.  The woman known only as Jane Doe, lost four liters of blood from the abortion and claims that Planned Parenthood is guilty of malpractice and refused to stop the abortion even though she was in intense pain.  Counsel for Planned Parenthood said "the injury is a recognized complication of abortions" and "it would have been medically inappropriate to terminate the abortion" despite her agonizing pain.  Read More

#3- Pro-lifer & Former Congressman Henry Hyde Passes Away at 83
Henry Hyde, a former U.S. Representative from Illinois and a high profile leader in the pro-life movement passed away November 29 in a Chicago Hospital following heart surgery earlier in the year.  Most notable in his passion for the pro-life movement was the great strides taken to limit federal funding of abortion.  Hyde also was a leader in the impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton for perjury.  Earlier this month Hyde was awarded the President Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush.  Cardinal Francis George, the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago stated "Rep. Hyde was exemplary in defending and protecting the lives of unborn Americans and, through the amendment that bears his name, promoted freedom of conscience for Americans who believed their tax dollars should not contribute to destroying innocent human life." A tribute to Hyde

#4- Planned Parenthood Exposed: Fraud, Child Rape and Incest
Planned Parenthood goes under the microscope again - this time under suspicion of deliberately misinforming clients and reporting fraudulent information to protect rapists and child predators.  According to National Review, an online news service, the organization failed to report a 16 year-old girl who was raped by her father, an 11 year-old girl who was impregnated by her stepfather, and a 15 year-old who was raped and impregnated by her stepfather's friend.  National Review also cites an undercover sting operation which was conducted to monitor whether or not Planned Parenthood reports cases of statutory rape.  In all, more than 800 calls were made to abortion clinics under the guise of a 13 year-old pregnant girl and her 22 year-old boyfriend requesting an abortion.  Over 90 percent of the clinics agreed to perform the abortion and hide the illegal activity from the police.  Read the full story of deception

#5- Grand Jury Investigation Delayed against Abortion Clinic
A Kansas Judge approved a citizen petition to seat a grand jury in the high-profile investigation against Planned Parenthood, but postponed actually seating the jury for a week.  This action was in response to a challenge from Planned Parenthood.  Currently the abortion provider is seeking to file a motion with the Kansas Supreme Court, which would take it out of the Johnson County judicial system.  Troy Newman, president of pro-life organization Operation Rescue declares "Justice delayed is justice denied".  Source

#6-Scientist Transforms Human Skin Cells into Stem Cells
James A Thomson, one of the first scientists to experiment on stem cells extracted from human embryos, may have found a solution to the ethical controversy.  The national debate over whether embryos should be destroyed in order to find possible cures for diseases may dissolve in the face of a new technique which transforms human skin cells into embryonic stem cells by adding four genes.  Dr. Thomson has expressed serious ethical concerns with embryonic stem cell research, and shared in a recent interview that he feels a sense of relief with the promising new discovery.  Read more about Thomson's ethical dilemma here
