A Time To Stand - Restoring God to His Rightful Place in America

For nearly fifty years there has been a slow but deliberate attack on God and religion in America - especially Christianity and the Bible. In the last several years this attack has intensified to the extent that many Americans are now too intimidated to even mention the name of God in public or at work. Encouraged by their victories in our nation's courtrooms, classrooms and workplaces, a small but very effective group of militant atheists have launched a new assault that is determined to drive God and the Bible from America's heritage, culture and conscience. When major retail stores such as Wal-Mart are afraid to say, "Merry Christmas" and opt to replace all references to "Christ" by using "Happy Holidays" in their advertising - one begins to realize how far political correctness has come. A school principal in Massachusetts forbid students to say, "Easter Bunny" and instructed them to use the term, "Peter Rabbit" instead, because the word Easter had "religous" overtones! Consider carefully the statement of an American atheist that was published earlier this year: "While you believe that bringing an end to religion (and Christianity) is an impossible goal, it is important to realize that much of the developed world has nearly accomplsihed it."  A list of eleven countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom follows the statement. If this atheist and the other Americans that hate God and hate the people who believe in Him have their way, America will be added to the list.

Americans don't normally like to hear bad news and as a nation we are naturally optimistic. But thoughtful men and women across the country are becoming anxious about our future as a nation. We seem to be living in the shadow of some fearful fitire disaster. People everywhere know we are living in dangerous times. Most Americans have a sense that we are losing the blessing and protection of God and it is happening at the worst time. According to recent surveys over 87% of all Americans believe in the Almighty God as revealed and described to us in the Bible.

One thing we must be quite certain of is that our future and very survival of our country cannot be left entirely in the hands of our political leaders. They have proved themselves all too often to be immoral, corrupt and incompetent. Our only hope is to restore Almighty God to the place of prominence in our society and in our lives He once held. If we return to Him we may trust in His promise that of we do, He will return to us. "Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts...And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land, says the Lord..."  Malachi 3: 7,12

If the vast majority of Americans do not stand up against the forces in this country that wish to destroy our nation's faith and trust in God, we will lose the blessings and protection afforded our nation by God. This is not a sentimental or nostalgic desire to return to our Puritan days of our Founding Fathers. It is the recognition that America was founded as a Christian nation and its greatness has rested upon that foundation of values and faith. There are perilous days ahead; foretold to us by the Word of God. America dare not attempt to go it alone without God. God has been patient with America for nearly two generations; waiting for us to return to Him - waiting to be restored to His rightful place in our hearts. Let us begin by reclaiming the spiritual ground that was lost since 1960. Let us put prayer back into the classrooms and God back on the lips of our children. Let us openly reject the "political correctness" that has intimidated us and silenced us from speaking out against immorality and injustice. Let us demand of those who wish to lead our nation, a level of honesty, morality and competence deserving of the positions they wish to hold. Let us speak less of rights and privileges and more of duties and responsibilities. Our strength to do so is limited only by our faith in asking God's help.

                               May God Bless America.

AMEN!

The push to remove God from our country must be stopped. There is nothing wrong with living by a set of principles or Ten Commandments. And this should be a two-way street. The majority of the country believes in God and the efforts of those in positions of power to change this must be stopped. We are deluded if we think the religion of "political correctness" is the way to go. Bad things happen. The majority of these situations are of our own making. We have been given free will to make choices and it is time to start making good choices. We cannot blindly follow a leadership that thinks it knows what is best for all people. Their way of life has no relationship to the majority of the citizenry. They are not more intelligent or better suited to decide what rights we should have or what we should believe. Our Constitution must be reinstated to its former intent and greatness.

I say all people have to return to the Golden Rule and a new commitment to having a sense of responsibility for their actions. With no paraphrasing involved, there is always a place for "DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU."

Reaping what you have sown, or, chickens coming home to roost.
