On Thursday, July 12, a Hindu chaplain is scheduled to deliver the opening prayer in the U.S. Senate, the first Hindu prayer at the Senate since it formed in 1789. The chaplain says his prayer will be "universal in approach," despite planned references to Hindu religious texts. Since Hindus worship multiple gods, the prayer will be outside the American paradigm and contrary to the American motto, "One Nation Under God." This Hindu chaplain has already prayed this year in the Nevada State Assembly and Nevada State Senate. Are you questioning why the U.S. government is inviting the invocation of non-monotheistic gods? If so, TAKE ACTION -- call your state senators at 202-224-3121. I did, because I understand this nation was founded on the ONE JUDEO-CHRISTIAN GOD. To "officially" seek other gods to bless our government sessions is to invite the wrath of God Almighty, who judges disobedience to His commandment to have no other gods before Him. Our founding fathers understood this; hopefully, our current leaders will before we sink further into post-Christianity.
When our legislators deny our spiritual and historical roots, it is an offense to God-fearing citizens. Worse however, it is an offense to the God of our founding fathers, the God who made our nation great, and the God before whom we should humble ourselves and to whom we should pray. I believe that if we turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven and will forgive our sin and heal our land. But How shall He hear if the prayer is voiced to multiple Hindu gods? |
