Background:

Mr. Chertoff has been engaged in lobbying for the Immigration Reform Bill instead of fulfilling his responsibility of securing the borders. Information garnered from the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps website, the Human Events website, a USA Today article, and an article from the Del Rio News-Herald make the case for his dereliction of duty.

This Petition States:

Whereas, the Secure Fence Act of 2006 (H.R. 6061) directs the Director of Homeland Security to achieve operational control over the nation's borders within eighteen months; and

Whereas, the bill authorizes 854 miles of fencing, Homeland Security then announced its intention to build only 370 miles; and

Whereas, only twelve miles had been built by May 22, 2007; and

Whereas, Mr. Chertoff told critics of the Immigration Reform Bill to "get real"; and

Whereas, Mr. Chertoff publically agreed with LOCAL officials in Texas that Texas needs no border fence.

Therefore, as such a preponderance of evidence demonstrates that Mr. Chertoff is either unwilling or incapable of handling one of the most essential positions in government as relates to our national security, this petition calls for the IMMEDIATE resignation of Mr. Chertoff as Director of Homeland Security.

I am with you Mastertrooper.  Mr. Chertoff needs to step down and let someone else try to build this fence the way it is suppose to be built.  Maybe he doesn't understand that he can hire people to build it.  He doesn't have to do it all by himself.

Isn't anyone paying attention to what these illegals are doing?  Have we become blind to American needs?

Mr. Chertoff may be relying too much on his gut.  Perhaps a little informaton gathering on his part regarding what the citizens that live close to these borders and are most effected by the continuous flow of illegal aliens wouldn't be amiss at this point.  I think Mr. Chertoff should sit down and read the laws concerning what his duties really are and just what the law says about building the fence to protect American citizens.  It seems to me that too much effort is being expended to protect the so called rights of the illegals.

God Bless America

Hi, go to this website and you will learn more and why there is not to be a fence built.  This has been going on for many years and it is very scary.  I pray to God that it is not to late to stop this:
