You know we all talk about change, want change, and need change. The Speaker of the House advocates change then won't disclose her "earmarks." Change, whatever that means, to one may mean something entirely different to another. To vote for a Democrat because you think Republicans are bad is not voting for change. Voting for a Republican instead of a Democrat is not change. Both parties are equally as bad and equally to blame for the current position our country finds itself in seven years into the new millinium. Voting for "Billary" puts another Clinton in the White House. That's not change no matter how good some think she may be or will be. That's a moot point. Voting for John McCain is not change. He's been in a position of power for far too long. Voting for John Kerry is not change. He's been in a power position for far too long. Go through the Senate and House and look at all the people who have "been there" too long. Biden? Over 20 years. Reid? An old man way behind the times and knows nothing about what would or wouldn't be good for my 22 year old niece. Al "it's hot" Gore, John Edwards, and most everyone else "running" is not change. Rudy would be change. Fred would be change. Bloomberg would be change. Anyone not already serving in Congress would be a change. Voting a 20-30 year "veteran of Congress" IN, whether a member of the House or Senate, is not change. CHANGE is to sweep out the old cob-webs, polish up the "stained brass", vacuum up the "dust" that's accumulated over the last 40 years, air out the old musty White House, and referbish the entire "interior" of the government. The country has come to a "fork in the road". Taking a left turn may take US down a highway to nowhere. Turning to the right may do the same. Flip a coin and let fate decide. Then make it two out of three because you're not satisfied with the outcome one flip provided. We all hear that 12 million ILLEGAL ALIENS can't be deported. Not true. "Ike" deported 1.2 million Koreans soon after the Korean War started. Truman deported thousands of Japanese after Pearl Harbor. While it may be true you can't deport 12 million all at once, you can deport a smaller number every year. It took a long time for 12-32 million ILLEGALS to get here. Assuming the border was secure, and that's a huge assumption, and we could deport only two million speard out over a year, it would take 6-16 years to remove ILLEGALS from the country. It would take a long time to deport those people, I know, but if we could get started now, by 2013-2023 we'd have the country back for our youth and the ones who have contributed to this country for the past forty years, not the ones who have paid taxes on a false social security number or stolen someone's identity to thieve from America and have been here for 5-10 years or 10-20 years without bothering to become LEGAL, or learn the language, or learn anything about the culture, history or government and stand in line with their hands out for a free ride to a comfortable living without paying the price. The blood, sweat, and tears that most of us have had to pay to live in this country. They all know where the welfare lines are. Change would be a blood transfusion. Out with the old and in with the new and keep the new, NEW, every 4 to 8 years. The longer the "incumbents" hang around Washington the more it seems logical they will "run into ways" to get "around" Washington. The longer they can "dig in" and use the system for their benefit instead of ours. They "sit in the lobby" too long. Term limitations is change. I know everyone has their favorites. Ron? Tancrendo seems creditable. I like Fred or Rudy. Mitt? Don't know yet. Edwards? A joke. Clinton? You must be kidding. Gore? You're outside your mind. Kerry? Go row a boat. McCain? Shot down as a pilot. Crashed as a politician, in my opinion. While I respect his participation in the war and I couldn't fathom what a POW camp could be like, I do not think he would be a good president. Been "around" too long. Remember, these are just thoughts on a screen. We all have our own thoughts. Change? I say let them all "run". All the Republican hopefuls. All the Democratic hopefuls. All the Independent hopefuls. Let them all "run". That would give We, the People more of a choice instead of just TWO that "they" parade in front of us every four years and ask US to vote on. THAT WOULD BE CHANGE. Let all 10-15 candidates "run". The one with the most votes becomes President. The one with the second most votes becomes VP. Democrat or Republican or Independent. They, then, would discuss the cabinet members and appoint accordingly. This would give both parties a hand in governing the country, assuming the President was a Rep. and the VP a Dem. or vice-versa. Makes sense to me that more choices would be a change. But, the again, what the heck do I know. I'm just one of We, the People. CHANGE. Not coins left from a dollar. CHANGE of procedures. CHANGE of passe ideas for new ideas, whatever they may be. CHANGE. Both parties working for the betterment of We, the People. That would be a change, wouldn't it? And not trying to "gain power" for their own agendas. CHANGE. Keeping LEGAL Americans at the fore-front instead of making them "sit in the back of the bus." Bi-partisan is an often used word. Verges on being a cliche. It's already passe. It's said the country is divided. I say it's Washington that is divided. Bi-partisanship should be "Tri-partisanship" Shouldn't it? Republicans, Democrats, and We, the People all working for the betterment of OUR country. CHANGE would also be disolving NAFTA and CFTA, that "Slick Willy" got us into and then skates to Harlem awaiting his appointment as an American ambassador if "Billary" is elected. In those two documents laid the foundation for the North American Union. Are you kidding me? I wonder how much WE the people pay for ambassadors these days. Keeping it in the family "Billary? What do you think change is or would be? Keep in mind it took about 40 years for it to become like this and CHANGE will not occur overnight. Any ideas? Think about it before you answer. I'm just trying to get people to think. Nothing personal directed at anyone. Whatever you do or think, be ever vigilant and be mindful of the wind. Anything can happen including CHANGE. |
