I implore you, brothers and sisters, to be informed. To uphold your civic duty!

I would like to point your attention to two articles of dire importance this coming election year. No, it is not the politically divisive issues you are used to.

First, the illegal federal income tax:

On April 12, Alan Keyes published an article at RenewAmerica that began,

"Thanks to our nation's income tax system, individual Americans are not free--they are literally on parole."

He elaborated, "If [citizens] fail to 'show up' at the designated time and place to 'testify against themselves,' they face the prospect that their material goods will be confiscated and their bodies seized and imprisoned."

All this "because they are guilty of the crime of doing what the most fundamental law of nature gives them the right to do--procure the means of preserving themselves and their loved ones." [working for a living!]

Of course, Dr. Keyes was referring to filing an annual income tax return--a requirement that so intrudes into our lives that it makes us quite literally "tax slaves," to use a term Dr. Keyes often uses to describe the reality of the burden imposed by the income tax.

I urge you to read this full RenewAmerica Forum: Liberation from the income tax http://www.renewamerica.us/forum/?date=070416

Second, we need to focus on the larger crisis rather than the symptoms or individual issues. Dr. Keyes is starting a new series of articles examining “The Crisis of the Republic” Please start with this introduction:

During the past several decades, the trend in American life and politics has been adverse to just about everything needed to sustain American liberty. In our intellectual life, we have embraced theories and concepts that are simply incompatible with the ideas of human equality and inalienable rights that shaped our institutions of self-government. In the moral realm, we have legitimized attitudes and practices incompatible with the self-reliance and self-discipline that make limited government practicable. We have lived with policies on taxation and our economic life that destroy the rights, self-sufficiency, and initiative of the people. We have thoughtlessly adopted--and allowed our elites to implement--an understanding of political life that destructively erodes the sovereignty of the people.

The end result is a crisis so pervasive that our preoccupation with its many symptoms and manifestations keeps us from appreciating its overall extent.

Again, I urge you to read this article, RenewAmerica: The Crisis of the Republic http://www.renewamerica.us/news/070417keyes.htm

It is our civic duty as Christians in a democratic republic to be informed and active in the affairs of government, because America [was] governed by the people, for the people, and of the people, not the political elite!

If America is to remain under God’s grace and authority, then American’s must participate in their civic duties with prayer, praise, and supplication to God Almighty! (Romans 13:1-7)

“Ralf Augstroze, executive director of the Providence Forum, says the last U.S. presidential election was proof that many Christians do not take seriously the biblical admonition to be salt and light. ‘The Christian community has been termed the 'sleeping giant' in the sense that, I believe [in] the last elections, 60 percent of professing Christians were not even registered to vote,’ he notes.” (Martin)

“In one generation, America has helped lead western culture to abandon two millennia of Christian civilization, returning to the paganism of the Greco-Roman world. Lennon's "Imagine" said it all. At the dawn of the Third Millennium, Christians need to rediscover their voices! If the original, truly revolutionary Gospel was powerful enough to turn the ancient pagan Empire upside down, it can do the same today. Like our Christian forerunners, we must declare with fearless courage, even if costs us our lives: CHRISTOS KURIOS: CHRIST IS LORD.” (Jones)
