Is there a North American Community agenda under way in America? Read Grassfire.org's backgrounder and add your own research/comments.

Has the federal government launched a “North American Community” plan?
Our staff has not found specific, official reference by our
government to a “North American Community” or a plan for a
North American Community/Union. (If you have other
information, please let us know). However, that does not mean
there is no movement in that direction. To the contrary: there is
a goal to create a “framework” and organizations are
developing blueprints on how such a union can come together.
A key to understanding this connection is the federal
government’s Security and Prosperity Partnership.

What is the Security and Prosperity Partnership(SPP)?
The SPP is a “trilateral effort to increase security and enhance
prosperity among the United States, Canada and Mexico
through greater cooperation and information sharing.”
(spp.gov) The SPP was initiatiated without Congressional
approval by President Bush in 2005. Grassfire dealt
extensively with the SPP in our booklet, “The Truth about the
Illegal Invasion
.” We noted that President Bush, Mexico’s
Fox and Canada’s Martin issued a joint statement that each of
the countries are “mutually dependent and complementary”
and stated the SPPs goal as helping: “Consolidate our action into a North
American framework to confront security and economic challenges, and promote
the full potential of our people, addressing disparities and increasing opportunities
for all.” Rep. Ron Paul calls the SPP “an unholy alliance of foreign consortiums
and officials from several governments.”

Does the SPP launch the “North American Community” or “Union”?
The SPP sets out to create a “North American framework.”
What does that framework look like? One of the SPP’s
“stakeholders,” the Council on Foreign Relations, presented
a report to the SPP within months of its founding entitled
Building A North American Community.” The CFR based
this document, a blatant blueprint for a North American
“union,” on SPP’s stated goals. As we outlined in “The
Truth About The Illegal Invasion
,” CFR’s blueprint states:
“The Task Force proposes the creation by 2010 of a North
American community to enhance security, prosperity, and opportunity.” Please note that the CFR report is not official government policy but it certainly is a prominent voice as this “framework” is established.”

What happens to border security?
Central to this new North American "framework" is a fundamental shift in how America views its borders. Simply stated, the SPP views our current borders as essential internal borders which should encourage transfer of people and goods between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The external perimeter (i.e. Mexico's ports and southern border and Canada's ports and borders) becomes the security perimeter to, in the words of Canada's deputy Prime minister, "secure North America from external threats." In fact, the SPP touts a "unified trusted-traveler program and a collective approach to infrastructure protection." This trusted traveler program facilitates travel for the "citizens of North America." Source here.

Is there an agenda to create a North American Community?

Certainly there is an effort underway to bring the economies and cultures of
Mexico and America closer together. As we point out in our “Truth About The
Illegal Invasion” booklet, there is an active agenda among Mexicans that even
claims much of the southwest United States rightfully belongs to Mexico. This
“La Raza” (the race) movement is strong and influential, and even funded (at least
indirectly) by our own government. Multicultural, economic and political forces
are also driving the merging of American and Mexico and the removal of barriers
between our two countries. The SPP and the plans for the NAFTA
Superhighway
are, in our opinion, part of the long-term infrastructure being put
into place to prepare America the coming community.

I believe that this subject is absolutely necessary in any discussion of our country's future.  There are forces out there that have a "globalist" agenda.  They plan to develop a One World global governance, and therefore, disdain national borders and nation-states.

We must educate ourselves on this issue so taht we can intelligently refute the globalists, with our friends, in the press and with politicians.

I beleive it was Lou Dobbs that said on his show today that they have already started implementing the NAU,and I think that they have! They are already coming out in the open now,and it may be too late to stop them.I only hope that its not too late for America to somehow stop them.Tom Tancredo, and a few other members of Congress sent Bush and Gonzales a letter awhile back asking them to not do anything else on the NAU plan until Congress could look into it.I seriously doubt that they received a return reply!I will vote for Tom in 08,if our country survives until 08!!!
